83 Episode 83 Lunchtime and Future Plans.txt

I said goodbye to Theodore and returned to the edge of the dining room space, and before I knew it, Sakura and Garnett were there.

'That was a pretty long story, wasn't it?'
''As I recall, that person was an adventurer named Theodore from Dragon Slayer, wasn't he? I have met him a few times in the Demon King's Castle Realm. What did you talk about?
I was just wondering if I could get some dragon material for you.

I look across at Theodore and Maria as they head to the private room for their meal, and briefly explain the exchange we just had.

Putting personal feelings aside, this one is a big step forward.

Among the many leather materials, if it is assumed to be used as armor, dragon leather is one of the best performers.

I'm sure you'll be able to find a stable route to supply it, so in a sense, you must be grateful for Maria's troubled personality.

It's a good thing that you're able to have a good time with them.

It's a very good idea to celebrate the occasion and get a quick bite to eat. How about Sakura?
'I've already done that, you know. I'll do it another time.

Sakura then called out to Sylvia, who had moved on to her work in the dining room.

'Sylvia. I think I'll be home late again today. I'm sorry, but could you prepare a dinner or something for me?
I understand. Take care of yourself.

Sakura leaves Spring Wakaba-Tei to finish her own business, so we decide to finish our original purpose.

We get to our table and order our lunch and wait for our food to arrive.

Then, after a while, Garnett suddenly looked at me as if he was thinking about something.

'What's wrong with ......?'
No, you know. I had a feeling I'd remembered that guy's face and name from earlier, Theodore, somewhere, but then I finally remembered it. I met that guy before I became a knight ...... I think.

Garnett is following a thread of memory, looking vaguely unsure.

He hides his voice so that the people around him can't hear him, taking care to make sure that only I can hear him.

''While living in the royal capital as a member of the knight commander's family, I've been taken around to greet some of the nobles. There were other brothers and sisters, and I was sort of the youngest bonus.
So that's when you went to the Beaufort family.
Yeah. In case you haven't noticed, she might remember me.

I see, what Garnett was concerned about was the possibility of his identity being exposed?

It seems that he has been hiding his true face from others since he became a knight, but as for the fact that his face was remembered before that, there was nothing he could do about it.

If such a person looked at the current Garnet, there was a possibility that they would instantly realize that it was 'Garnet, the sister of Carmine, the leader of the Silverwing Knights, Carmine's sister.

''But, Garnet. Theodore's the kind of guy who can't remember the face of someone he's not interested in at all, you know? Besides, you were a proper girl at the time. You wouldn't be easily recognized, would you?
I'm still here. You wanna get your ass kicked?

I pause the conversation as an employee of the inn approaches the table and waits for him to pass by and then resumes on my end.

'Well, even if they remembered me, it wouldn't be a problem if we didn't see each other. Apparently Theodore spends his time at the villa and rarely comes to town, and we'll have to go through Maria, our chaperone, to trade materials.
It's a good thing you don't have to go to ...... to be careful, huh?
Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for it on my end.

Eventually the food we ordered is brought out.

My main dish is a large river fish and Garnett's is a thick slice of venison.
Both of them have a nice aroma that is very appetizing.

Both dishes were quite hearty, and we were both very hungry, so we naturally decided to focus on our meals without unnecessary conversation.

When the food on the table was getting scarce, I finally broached the subject.

'Oh, by the way, there's something that's been bothering me a bit too,'
Theodore?
'Give me a break. It's about Sakura.

Hearing that it was about Sakura, Garnett also showed a pretense of interest.

''That guy, it seems like he's been training for something these days. That's its primary purpose, so it's only natural, but I'm worried about the Mad Golem thing lately.
"I'm sure you're not going to be able to get your balls kicked off easily ......, but if you're fatigued from training, it's possible that you're not. If you're worried about it, let's go check it out later.
Do you know where they do it?
I don't know. Just ask anyone who might know. Hey! Sylvia!

Garnett called, and Sylvia, who was at work as a waiter, pattered over to him.

'Here you are. What can I do for you?'
I'll have two cakes and a cup of tea, please.
Yes, sir, I'll be there!
And, one more thing, you don't know where Sakura is trained.

Sylvia tilted her head at the question posed abruptly, pondered it for a few seconds as if trying to understand what it was, and then quickly answered back.

'I remember being asked before, 'Do you know of a place where there's no fire hazard?' I told him that I thought a ravine near town would be safe, and he said that was still the only place to go.
Well, thanks.

Sylvia bowed with Pecori and went back to the kitchen.

Just like when I asked her about Noir just a few minutes ago, there are signs that she took care of this and that in her answers.

''So, when it comes to the river around here, where is it?''
If that's where the canyon is, it's the river in front of town. You crossed the bridge this morning.
Ah, there it is. It's a pretty deep ravine and there are no trees growing in the riverbed, so it's a good place to train with fire.

I'm familiar with that canyon, too.

It's the place where I was asked by the village hall to [repair] the bridge that had collapsed in a storm when I had just arrived in Green Hollow.

Even after that, when I was summoned by King Alfred or on this excursion to Tri-Brook City, I always crossed that bridge and went down the mountain.

That's why I was convinced that Garnett was right, it was the best way to train Sakura.

Although you have to go down a steep cliff to get to the riverside, it won't be a problem for Sakura since there's a [shrinkage].

''Well then, let's go there after the sun goes down. I hear we're going to be doing regular security requests during the daytime.''

Garnett is also willing to go check on Sakura.

The two are friends who have become friends through their connection as martial artists.
I guess they are still worried about whether they are doing it safely or not.

...... Perhaps they're just curious about what kind of training they're doing and how strong they're getting.
