177 Episode 177: The First Morning in the Royal Capital.txt

That day, I woke up later than usual.

When I got up out of bed, I found myself in a room of a high-class mansion to look at.

It's a decor that doesn't even compare to the most expensive room in the Spring Wakaba-Tei, let alone the White Wolf Store's own room.

I'm trying to get my mind back into a sleepy head and remember how I came to spend the night here.

--When I found out that Garnett, who was returning home to King's Landing, had actually been requested by his father to find a marriage partner, I rushed to King's Landing with all my hands and got his father to approve of me and Garnett's relationship to some extent. --

 That was last night.

After that, when I told them that I was in too much of a hurry to find lodging for today, I was given a room in a villa owned by the Argentean family in the royal capital.

''As expected, I think I overslept a little ......

At any rate, I was just getting out of bed when there was a knock on my bedroom door and an unfamiliar voice was thrown at me.

'Wake up, Master Luke. It's time for breakfast.
'What? Oh, yes.

I gave a dumb reply and opened the door.

Standing in front of the bedroom was a girl who I could tell was a servant from the look of it, wearing a large, white apron over a long skirt and black clothing.

The girl, with her dark hair neatly arranged and her face full of suppressed joy and anger, looked up and down as if she were assessing me.

''First of all, you need to get ready before breakfast. Let me show you around.

I move as prompted, wash my face and fix my hair, and then I am finally led to the dining room.

A dining room with an even more luxurious interior than the bedroom I mentioned earlier.
There was the unexpected appearance of the first customer there.

''You're late, white wolf. Did you sleep well?

Garnett sits on a chair that looks quite expensive, just like the furnishings, dressed in his usual boyish manner and sitting in his usual messy manner.

It's a familiar attitude that even evokes a sense of relief for me, but it's quite a gap from the atmosphere of this mansion.

''I'll go bring you breakfast. Please sit down and wait.

The servant girl didn't blame Garnett for his misbehavior, and after pulling out the chair right next to her and giving her a silent instruction to 'sit there', she headed to the kitchen adjacent to the dining room.

For now, he sat down in the chair next to Garnett as he was prompted.

'Where's the boy now?'
This is Abigail. From what I've heard, she comes from a family that's been in my family since my great-grandmother was born.

Garnett replied, sticking his cheekbones into the table.

'I was sort of raised by Abigail's mother for a while after what happened to her, so I guess I'm kind of like a sister to her.
'I was born a little earlier than you. Don't be so vain.

Abigail popped up from the kitchen and then quickly withdrew.

'It ain't a look. d*mn it, .......

 Garnett looks miffed.
Seeing Garnett's behavior at his parents' house like this is somewhat refreshing.

''Come to think of it, this is the Argenteer family's separate residence, right? Does the rest of the family live in the main residence?''
This is basically a place to stay for non-noble visitors and those who have been summoned. The only people who are going to be using it for the time being are me, White Wolf's, Abigail who was brought in from the main residence, and the rest of the caretaker.

This morning was the first time I'd met Abigail, but I think I'd met the caretaker last night as well.

Probably the first couple that greeted us.

Normally, that couple would live a normal life and do the maintenance, and only dispatch servants to entertain visitors when necessary.

''And yet, that's what you still call them, isn't it?
What?
The White Wolf. It's always been like this since we first met, but now you're in a different relationship with this(-) and that(-). If that's the case, you can change your name to something like that, right?

When I said that, Garnett rolled her eyes and a slight blush crept across her cheeks.

'But white wolf's is a white wolf so ...... you can call me something else. ...... I only call you by your normal name. ......
Is that not good enough?
...... I'll think about it.

Garnett replied in a whisper and turned away, and then suddenly, "Oh! I let out a loud voice.

Abigail peeked out from behind the door leading to the kitchen, her face half peeking out at us.

'Oops. Don't mind me. I've been serving you since Garnet-sama was a 'young lady', so there's no need to worry about leaking secrets.
You know you care, of course you care! Just do your job!

Almost at the same time as Garnett's voice rang out, Abigail pulled herself back quickly and quickly returned with a tray of food.

'Thank you for your patience. It seemed that Master Garnett was in a good mood for something, so we had to hold off on serving the food for a bit.
...... You know, every time I see you you, you get more and more nasty, you get nicer and nicer.
I'm honored by your praise.
It's not a compliment.

Garnett's lips twisted bitterly back at Abigail, who lowered her head, picking up the hem of her skirt with a straight face.

It's a relationship that makes sense that he called her his sister.
I'm not sure if it's an uncomfortable relationship or what, but it doesn't give me much of a sense of a master-servant relationship between the daughter of a knight commander's family and her family's servant.

After all, the fact that they were raised by the same woman, even if only temporarily, may have had a significant impact on their relationship.

As I watched them interact, a smile naturally formed on my lips.

After finishing breakfast, me and Garnett decided to discuss the future in the cleaned up dining room.

''So, how long do you plan to stay in King's Landing, White Wolf's?''
I can't say anything about it yet. In the meantime, I'm going to go to the palace today to inform them of my acceptance of the example.

The matter in question - the establishment of a new knight's order with me as the first member.

Although I decided not to accept the invitation from the existing knights and decided to accept this idea proposed by the royal palace, I haven't yet completed a formal response.

I suppose I will have to do various things from now on, but whatever I do, I have to reply first.

"If I report to them and they say 'wait for a while in King's Landing', I'll stay in King's Landing for the time being, but if they say 'I'll let you know about the matter later', I'll just do the bare minimum and return to Green Hollow.
Hmm. What's the bare minimum you need to do?
'I'm thinking of going to the Sun Dial Chamber of Commerce and the Mithril Processor's Union for future work. And since it's a good opportunity, maybe it would be a good idea to stop by the headquarters of the Adventurer's Guild.

To begin with, I'm ostensibly coming to the royal capital under the guise of an 'urgent business trip'.

If I don't bring back some kind of achievement related to the management of the White Wolf Store, people will be suspicious as to what the hell I'm really doing here.

''All right, then.''

Garnett leaned forward and smiled, his white teeth peeking out.

I'll show you the capital. I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I've spent more time in the city than in my family's territory. I've spent more time in the capital than in my family's territory.
