184 Episode 184: Street performance of the August troupe.txt

We decided to leave the upscale residential area early and dare to go to the crowded main street.

There are many knight's mansions in the high-class residential area.
In other words, the reason is that the chances of running into Garnett's - or someone who knows Alma's face - are higher than in other places.

''It won't be much of a problem if someone you know finds you, will it? You'd think it was just 'Alma' going out on the side.

It seems that Garnett rarely appears in public as 'Alma', but even so, the information that they are two identical twin siblings is deliberately spread.

Even if the disguise is detected, common sense should tell you that it's not 'Garnett is wearing a woman's dress' but 'Alma is sneaking into the public eye'.

That's true, but ...... there's something to be prepared for, isn't there ......?
But I'm sure the people at last night's party knew about our relationship long ago.
Our Relationship: ......

Garnett covered the lower half of his face, hiding his lips with one hand.
Apparently, I'd evoked a different scene than I'd intended.

Specifically, not the moment we held hands in front of the invited guests, but what happened afterwards when we were alone.

'...... and, anyway! Practice for today! It's just to see if I can fool you well!
Okay, okay. Well, where do we go first?

And so we walked down the main street with Garnett leading the way.

We didn't go against the flow of the crowd, but slowly blended into the cityscape.

Garnett took his place next to me, laughing happily from time to time and explaining to me about the buildings facing the street.

The royal capital is unfamiliar to me, but to Garnett, it's a familiar second home.

The contents of the talks were all interesting, and I never got bored just listening to them while they were interjecting.

On the way, it was just about time for us to stop for lunch at a restaurant along the street, and now we decided to head to another main street.

...... hmm? What a huge crowd. What's that thing doing?
That's just a square. They must be playing some kind of a trick or something.

I was somewhat intrigued, so I decided to join the crowd and check out the square.

There was a fancy looking group of about ten people performing a street (street) performance to passersby and the audience.

The current performance was a juggling act.
Three performers were throwing and receiving short clubs, breathing together, and keeping a dozen or so sticks in the air.

The music playing in the background is a one-man band with one person playing multiple instruments at the same time.

Eventually, as the performance comes to an end, the juggling also comes to a brilliant end, and the crowd breaks into a burst of applause.

I clap along and talk to Garnett next to me.

'Isn't this kind of thing unusual in the royal capital?
Well. Recently, it seems that more and more people are coming from other towns to expedite their expeditions. Maybe these guys are the same.

While the applause is still lingering, the next performer steps forward.
They are a pair of girls dressed in blue and peach-colored costumes, respectively.

Their matching outfits emphasized ease of movement and visual glamour, and their skirts were as decorative as they were meant to be, with tight-fitting tights covering their lower bodies instead.

The ruffled sleeves, or sleeves, puffed out lightly around the shoulders, and the arms beyond that point were wrapped in long gloves of a darker shade.

Her lips and eyes were also colored with makeup in their respective image colors, and the black hair that was arranged around her neck was also sparsely colored with the same color of dye.

If you saw them on the street, they would look very strange, but on a street performance stage like this, they would not only look natural, but they would look natural and appropriate.

'To be continued, the lovely flowers of our August troupe! It's Azure and Pinky's acrobatics! Don't blink! If you look away, you'll lose it!

While the facilitator, a clown, agitates the audience, the men who had been doing another street performance earlier, prepare quickly for the next juggling act.

One by one, a wooden stick, tall enough to look up and thin enough to grasp with one hand, is precariously erected in front of the two girls, growling.

Following the two men supporting the sticks, four men formed a duo and stood between the girls and the tall wooden sticks and began to take up some kind of stance from their midriffs.

'Those guys are jumpers?'

Garnett muttered that, but it was too soon, and the two girls started running at the same time, stomping on the hands that the pair of men held out.

The girls leapt high as the men raised their arms high in the air.

They breathed in the air and spun around once, then landed on one foot at the top of a thin, high wooden pole.

A cheer escaped from the crowd, and a flurry of quick-witted applause rang out.

But this was where their juggling act came into play.

The other performers had already turned back to the hem, and the tall, thin wooden stick was no longer supported by anyone.

Nevertheless, the two girls stood unconcernedly on one foot and held steady; instead, they began to dance lightly on the pole.

They did forward and backward somersaults, of course, but they also swapped the legs that supported their bodies as if they were breathing, even thrusting one hand into the air and swinging both legs up.

Each time he did this, the unsupported stick creaked and twisted, but he never fell down and kept his balance.

The audience was transfixed by the masterful juggling act.

Of course, Garnett and I were no exception, and we remained huddled in the crowd, shoulder to shoulder, watching the two girls juggle their acrobatics.

The acrobatics ended with a big jump after the wooden stick was squeezed to its fullest.

The wooden stick aimed and kicked off in the direction of no one, and then dropped down, holding her knees and spinning dizzyingly, bouncing as the other performers caught it in the cloth they had spread out, and then both of them bowed with a spectacular landing at the same time.

Cracking applause echoes through the square.

Garnett is smiling like a girl her age and seems to be enjoying her extraordinary performance.

I look at Garnett with a sideways glance at her and again feel glad that I went out with her.

'Azure and Pinky are on a roll today! Come on, folks, bang on the tips! So we'll continue with--

Various performances followed, one after another.

A pantomime and a high foot (stilt) act. The clown who was the facilitator got some laughs, and the two girls who came out again performed an elaborate human mutilation trick.

Very few spectators leave during the show, and by the time the whole show is over in the evening, the crowd has swelled to almost twice as large as when we arrived.
