305 Episode 305: "Contract narrative" sequel.txt

The anointing of Mark Easton of the Purple Jade Order is over, and that vaguely familiar face disappears between the new knights.

It's been fifteen years since I left my hometown.
I don't even know what my brother (Mark) looks like now, since I didn't even go near my hometown before my last homecoming.

But I'm sure he must have grown up with that kind of vibe - Mark Easton's appearance compelled me to think so.

(...... and now I have to focus on the ritual.)

I couldn't just stand there with a blank expression on my face because everyone was looking at me from the guest's seat.

In particular, Garnett is in a position where he can readily see the changes in my expression.

If I make a bad move, it will be used as a tease later on.

''Come to think of it, that knight Mark Easton or something like that just now, only one person was invited to take the stage. I wonder if his grades were excellent after all.)

The remaining rookie knights of the Purple Jaguar Order were also anointed one after another, and their turn was transferred to the next Order of the Blue Shark.

Eight knights, excluding the four senior knights.
The new knights I will be leading will be dispatched one by one from each of these knights, but as expected, freshly anointed rookies won't be dispatched.

It's not just a matter of time before they are dispatched, but also a matter of time before they are dispatched because there isn't a person who can be dispatched.

''Next, the Akabane Knights--''

And so the ordination ceremony proceeded without any trouble, and eventually the ordination of the twelve knights and all but one of the new knights was completed.

Even though they had been standing there for a long time, not even the slightest hint of fatigue floats on His Majesty's face.

The man presiding over the event reads out the name written at the end of the list at hand.

''-- White Wolf Knights, Luke White Wolf.

A light thud was felt in the large auditorium.

The new knights and knight officials didn't show any reaction, as if they had already figured out what was going on beforehand, but about eighty percent of the guests couldn't believe their ears at what was read out, and they seemed surprised at what they didn't expect.

 The Thirteenth Order.
It was easy to see how much of its existence had been spread around the world.

It was well known among those involved with the royal palace and the knights, but the public only knew about it, which was around 20%.

Considering the fact that the official duties given to me are extremely regional (local), it might be possible to say that even 20 percent name recognition is rather considerable.

I straighten my back, get up from my seat, and head to the altar with my chest out.

Of course I'm nervous. My heart is about to burst at any moment.

But I can't expose my haplessness.
That would not only embarrass me personally, but would also smear the faces of the people who pushed me up to this point.

Stepping up the short stairs one by one, I ascend the stage and face His Majesty Alfred, who is carrying a ceremonial sword, squarely in front of me.

''Hmm, you're getting better and better every time we meet.
...... It's an honor.

I stopped just in time to let my emotions start to run rampant and tried my best to return the words calmly.

If I was a young new knight over there, I would have collapsed in a fit of emotion.

The reason why that didn't happen is because of the bravado of a man who has grown old in his own way and the vanity of a man who is looking out for Garnett, who is watching over him from his seat right next to him.

-- What is that Garnett face at all?
It was as if he was being anointed, a nervous wreck.

It's a good idea to be able to have a good time with them.

If you are looking at me that seriously, I couldn't show you how uncool I am.

I've been waiting for this moment to happen, kneeling on one knee on the floor of the altar and hanging my head reverently.

Luke White Wolf. "Luke White Wolf, leader of the 13th Order. You have the potential to change the course of history. I'm sure you'll be able to do it. I have high hopes for you.

The belly of the ceremonial sword is pressed against my shoulder.

No longer can I hear an ounce of throbbing in the grand auditorium.

Without a single exception, they stare at me and His Majesty, trying to sear the moment of the birth of a new Order into their eyes.

As the sword left my shoulder, I stood up, realizing the end of the ceremony.

Just then, His Majesty's large hand gripped my shoulder tightly.

For once, even the people involved in the knight's group let out a cry of surprise.
I too was frozen in thought by the unexpected situation and could only walk down the altar as His Majesty led me down.

His Majesty Alfred leaned in close to me as if he were squaring his shoulders, and then he whispered to me with a stiff smile on his mouth.

'I'm listening. I'm sure the other knight commanders would sit up if they heard about it, such as how you ran up to this point with a weakness that you fell in love with. Well, for me, I can't help but feel a sense of familiarity.

Even if you laugh at me in such a friendly manner, my thought process processing capacity has long since been surpassed.

It's true that His Majesty is a person who even became the king through 'loveable weakness', but I'm not overconfident enough to identify myself with that and feel close to it.

His Majesty pushed me back down the stairs and urged me to return to my seat, while I turned on my heel and headed for the side doorway of the main auditorium.

It was here that the man left on the dais finally regained his composure and explained to the guests the establishment of the new Order and its role in their lives.

That there was a Demon King's army lurking in the basement of Green Hollow that was planning to invade the ground.

Thanks to the efforts of the people led by the Golden Fang Knights, they were able to drive them deep underground.

The adventurers continue to search for him in order to pursue him.

A group of knights was needed to oversee them and bridge the gap between the Golden Fang Knights and the royal palace.

As expected, the matter of the ancient magical civilization was kept under wraps, but in the grand scheme of things, it was close to a summary of the current situation.

From the beginning, it seems that they were planning to explain about the new knights after the ceremony, and a detailed and accurate explanation was given that wasn't impromptu (ad-libbed), and they seemed to be convinced that His Majesty's actions were 'specially encouraged because he's the new knight leader'.

But in the meantime, I couldn't keep up with the suddenness of the event, and could only continue to be stunned until those present began to leave.
