1258 Episode 1258

Ray goes through the process and gets into the library, and is surprised to find more people than he expected.
There was a wizard man reading several books on his desk, a wolf beast reading something boring at a distance, a sheep beast sleeping on a table, and woken up by an elf man.
Ray first came to this library not long after he came to Gilm.
I've been to this library several times since, but I've rarely seen it in winter.
Perhaps that's why it was a little surprising for Ray that there were so many people in the library.

(Is reading popular?)

I don't hate the act of reading...it's not a bad thing for Ray, who loves it, to have more people use the library.
But increasing numbers of people using the library also means Ray can't read the books they're reading.

(I mean, at this point, I don't think I'll run out of books?)

I had some conversations with Kenny before I got to the library, but that didn't mean I was late...
To begin with, the library has been open since morning.
Ray, on the other hand, left the inn about 10 a.m.
The library would normally have been used by a large number of people at that time.

(I wish there was something about the material of the Silver Lion.)

I look for a book while thinking about the purpose of coming to this library.
Some people were looking at Ray along the way in surprise, but he didn't mind.
Ray was originally prominent in Gilm, but in addition, it was announced that he had captured the dungeon.
I understood why my gaze was so focused on me, and if I cared about it, I could lose my stress.
Ray looked through the bookshelves in turn, ignoring his gaze, but although there were books about monsters, they were only Rank A, and there were no books about monsters.
But if you think about it, it's only natural.
Rank S monsters aren't easy to meet in the first place.
Even Rank A monsters can meet once in a lifetime.
...though the inhabitants of Gilm meet with the rank S monster equivalent of Set almost every day.
In any case, Seto has few opportunities to meet such high-ranking monsters, so it's only natural that he doesn't have the knowledge to write about in the first place.
Of course, it's not like you don't have any knowledge, as some of you have fought and won against Rank S monsters.
But of course it's a very rare example, and it's very few compared to monsters below Rank B.
Naturally, information didn't go around much.
Also, dissemination of information has not been common in this world.

"Isn't it after all?" -- guillem, and I thought there might be one."

Ray wouldn't have been so disappointed if this had been a normal village, town or city.
However, as Gilm is a remote area, there are many rare encounters with monsters.
That's probably why... Ray could have expected it.

"Well, what else is there?"

Ray's visit to the library was lost in the absence of the book of interest.
But now that I've come all the way to the library, I'm looking for something interesting to read.
But naturally, interesting books are something that others want to read, and such books are first come first come first.
Of course, some people find it interesting, so not all the interesting books are gone.
But few books Ray wants to read.
While walking in front of the bookshelf, Ray was wondering what was going on, but suddenly he saw one of them.

"The Adventure of Lepples...?"

Ray doesn't know why the book bothered him.
I still reached for the book because it had some meaning.
Find an empty desk and sit there.
What Ray saw was a story made up of nothing but pictures.
Ray continues to read the book in a general format for Ergin's.
It was a typical heroic tale.
The story of a boy who finds a long sword stuck in a rock in a cave, draws it, gains strength, overcomes various trials, and eventually comes to be called a hero.
It's common... it's really common, but after reading it in less than an hour, Ray nods his head.
That's not to say that there was anything strange about this heroic tale.
But there was something familiar about the story.
Some of the challenges, for example, are similar to those of novels and comics Ray had read while he was in Japan.
Pulling out a long sword stuck in a rock is not unusual in this world, as it can be called formal beauty.
But there were many other familiar settings.

(This... definitely was written by someone who knows Japanese, manga, etc.)

Ray wonders... he goes down to the librarian with the book in his hand.

"I'd like to ask you a question. Do you know who wrote this book? If you do, please tell me."
"What? Well... Is it the adventure of Lepples? This book is so old that I don't know who wrote it."

The librarian shakes his head apologetically.

"A long time ago? When exactly?"
"Well? I remember reading it to my grandfather when I was a child, so I think it was at least that long ago. There seem to be countless manuscripts."

The age of the librarian is about forty.
If the librarian was read to me by my grandfather when I was a child, it would be more than twenty or thirty years ago.

"Yes, sir.

I'm sure there are other people besides Ray who came to Elgin from Japan.
As I thought so, I let out a sigh of regret.

"Well, I'm sorry,"
"No, I'm sorry I didn't know the exact year."

The librarian makes a small bow to Ray.
But Ray tells such a librarian he doesn't mind shaking his head and goes back to his seat.
Behind Ray, the librarian, who had finally raised his head, was looked envious at by the other librarians.
You must have been envious of talking to Ray.
Given Ray's popularity in the guillem, it's no wonder that some people behave like that.
Noticing what was going on behind him, Ray sits back in his chair and turns to the book again.

(I think it's probably... no, it's definitely someone from Japan who wrote this. Considering the original material written here, it's only a few years before I came to this world. Is that not always the case?)

Many of the contents used in the original material are comics and so on which Ray released a few years ago when he was in Japan, but I don't think that he came to Elgin a few years ago.
Perhaps the contents of this book were used by chance in many of the author's knowledge, and he was actually living in a world that was much further down the road.

(Well, it must have been known by the time of Takum that there are many unnatural things in terms of the number of years.) ...Wait. Does this mean that Takum's writing was left until now? No way, it wasn't written by Kabazid.)

It doesn't fit my image that the first prince of the Vestian Empire wrote such a novel.
If it had been quite famous for thirty or forty years, it would not be a covert imitation.

(But what about Takum?)

Like myself, I'm from Japan... but unlike myself and Kabazide, who came to this world with only my soul, I'm the one who came to this world with my body intact.
And if Takum came to this world a long time ago than himself or Kabazid, it would be no surprise to write a book or two.
...and yet Takum lived not decades ago, so it is strange that the manuscript still has the books of that time.

(Someone other than Takumu? Well, there's a good chance. I don't know why Takum and Kabazid came to Elgin, either.)

Considering the age of life, it's no surprise to think that Takum, Kabazid, or anyone else came from Japan other than yourself.

"Is it impossible to investigate this author at once?"

If I'm still alive, I'd love to make contact by any means possible. That's what Ray thought, but if he wasn't alive in the first place, he couldn't do anything about it.
We cannot deny the possibility that Ray has descendants, but it's because he wants to meet Japanese, not his descendants.
Of course I would like to see him if I could, but I didn't want to search him so hard that I thought I might see him.

"Well, there's nothing I can do about it,"

Regrettably, Ray has nothing more to do with the novel, which is thought to have been written by his own kind.
It's a development that Ray also remembers, but he's still fascinated by the story while reading it.
When you finish reading in less than an hour, you put the book back on the shelf.
Are there other novels written by the same author?
With that in mind, I look at the bookshelves, but many books don't have the author's name written on them.

(In academic books, there are many people who write the author's name quite clearly.)

Regrettably, Ray tried to pick a book.
I think it's about time that it was noon when I suddenly heard myself expressing myself violently.
I arrived at this library just after ten o'clock in the morning, and it could have been noon, considering the time I had been reading.
Also, if you remember Seth waiting outside the library, it would have been an impossible option to leave her hungry.
It was unfortunate that I couldn't get information about the material of the silver lion, but it would have been meaningful to come to the library to find the novel I had just read.
Feeling satisfied that it wasn't a waste of time, Ray left the library...

"Well, yes," Will Seto do it if he said.

I was dumbfounded but strangely convinced by the sight spreading beyond my gaze.
There, many people gathered around Seto, stroking and feeding him.
The number of people gathered is not only patting and feeding the set directly, but also satisfying to see how it goes.
All in all, the ten would be well over.
Seto was caressing himself with a happy purring, looking forward to it.
They are also smitten with portable dishes such as sandwiches and skewers.

"Ah, Ray's party... Ray!"

Seeing Ray like that, one of the people around Seto waved happily.
I was one of the party members who went to the dungeon with Johanna.

"Isn't it about time you got used to calling him?"
"Hahaha. I'm sorry, but I can't help..."

Ray and the ex-combatant have known each other for some time, but it's not long since Ray was the captain of the unit.
That would have been a long time since the end of the civil war in the Westian Empire.
But for the former squadron, Ray must still be a captain.
That's why the impression that Ray was the captain of the squad was so impressive when they saw him during the civil war.
Ray can't blame him too hard because he knows it.
After all, the situation was that they had been left alone.
But if Ray was disgusted at being called captain, he might have made him say it over again.
The current reason was that Ray didn't hate it that much after all.

"Now that you mention it, when would you like to have that party?"
"Oh, there was one, too," I see. It would be interesting to have a barbecue party in the snow."

Suddenly Ray muttered with a smile.
