1897 Episode 1897

Out of the guild, Ray was thinking of taking Seto to the streets and eating and drinking at a stall.
 There was, but...

"It's been a long time since we met. You're still cute. Do you want this sandwich? There's a lot of cheese in it that you like?"

When I see a person who cares about Seto, I look up to heaven without thinking.
It's not snowing, but clouds are covering the sky to the point of clouding, and the sun is sometimes only visible through gaps in the clouds.
Then I looked at Seto again, and there was a person I had never seen before who was in love with whom I had never seen him before.
Deciding that he can't stay like this forever, Ray reluctantly calls out to the person.

"Yohanna, it's been a long time."
"Hey, Seto-chan, why don't you go hang out with me now? See? I'll love you more than the Mire Dog."

Ray's voice seems to be completely deaf... no, not really audible, and he continues to love Seto.
Ray was wondering what to do, but a man from a distance suddenly saw him and called out to him.

"Are you back in Gilmoo?"

The person was as familiar to Ray as Johanna.
He was a member of Johanna's squad when she was involved in the civil war of the Vestian Empire.

"Oh, you look fine, too. ... Johanna as always."
"Oh, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Johanna still loves Seto without realizing Ray, and the man laughs mischievously.
I know Ray won't get angry like this, but it must be a lot of thought for a man that Johanna, their leader, is showing up like this.
Perhaps feeling a little sorry for him, Johanna's partner changes the subject, leaving it to Seto.

"Are you taking part in the subjugation of Cobold?"
"What? Oh, yes. I have some money to spare, but I don't want my body to lose weight."
"Oh... there are a lot of people like that, aren't there?"

Cobboldt, who is knocked down by a dieting purpose -- exactly slightly different -- feels indescribable to Ray.

"Yes, and there are quite a few people who are free. There are quite a few who get tired of drinking in bars or going to brothels even after a break."

Cobold, who is knocked down by killing time, feels as indescribable as it is for dieting purposes.
However, it is certain that whatever the reason may be, it is possible to defeat the Cobold.
As long as the damage to Gilm was decreasing, the reason was irrelevant.

"And why did you go to the guild? Do you think you'll be asked to kill the covold?"

As I asked, it was clear that I thought it probably wasn't.
For a man, it would not benefit Ray, who is notorious, to do so...or rather, he would not have been able to accept too much trouble.
And the idea is never wrong, as Ray is not actually going to accept the request to subdue Cobold.
...if the existence of rare or superior species of Kobolt could be confirmed, there was a possibility that he would be asked to kill them in search of unknown magical stones.

"The gigant turtleneck will be dismantled from tomorrow, and we'll have a meeting about it."

the dismantling of a gigant turtleneck
When Ray says so, the adventurers around him react momentarily.
While talking in the guild about the dismantling of Lenora and the Gigant Turtle, adventurers around them were trying to get information about it.
The demolition of the Gigant Turtle must have seemed a good request to those who were receiving the Cobold's punishment for lack of funds.
However, since the request for the subjugation of Cobold was of higher importance to Gilm, the remuneration was rather modest.
Ray had a little bit of a feeling that he wasn't the one to pay, but that low pay meant few people wanted it.
Nevertheless, given the size of the gigant turtleneck, I didn't even care enough about it as long as it wasn't going to work this winter alone.

"What? Are you finally dismantling it?"
"Oh, I was supposed to start before the new year, but I went to Anesis."

When the word Anesis comes out, the man looks at Johanna, who loves Seto with a subtle expression.
When Ray was at Anesis, naturally Seto was not in Gillum, and as a result Johanna had become what she called a Forbidden Seto.
Such excessive love for Seto now is undoubtedly a reaction to the withdrawal.

"Oh, I'm looking forward to that. I was interested in gigant turtles."
"Well, I know there are a lot of people like that, but you can't leave Kobolt alone, can you? Well, given that you don't know why he keeps attacking Guillum, it's possible that he won't attack me at all from tomorrow."
"When you say so... yes,"
"So the pay for dismantling the gigant turtleneck will be much lower. If you don't mind, come here. Oh, and I'm going to give you a little as a souvenir from the dismantled turtleneck. ... I don't know if it tastes good or not."

As far as Ray knows, turtles basically don't eat.
 The exception was the turtle.
Although sea turtles are actually eaten in some areas.
Still, the Giant Turtle was definitely a high-ranked monster, so there was no way it tasted bad.

(I've seen a turtle pot on TV, but I've never tried it.)

Naturally, they don't know how to handle turtles, nor how to season them.
That being the case, Ray could do nothing but leave it to a full-time chef.

"At any rate, if the terms are acceptable, please accept my request to-morrow morning."
"I'll take your request!"

It was Johanna who had loved Sett until recently, not the man she had spoken to.
I don't know where you were hearing from, but since you said you were asking me to dismantle the gigant turtleneck, I think you could hear that.
What Johanna had in mind to say she would accept this request? It was obvious to Ray.

"I'll tell you that we... don't see the Giant Turtle dismantled all the time. If it doesn't seem to be a problem first, we'll probably go somewhere else."
"I don't mind. If I can definitely meet Seto, I don't have the option of missing it."

When she sees Johanna asserting that, Ray can't say anything more.
If you know everything and still accept the request, Ray would be grateful, but he wouldn'
Johanna's men are ex-combatants, and they have reasonable strength in terms of pure combat capability.
That's why even if you've got monsters who've been drawn to the smell of Gigant Turtle's blood, you don't have to worry about falling behind most of them.

"I have nothing more to say than that. It's really good, isn't it? For my part, it would be a great help if Johanna and I could accept this request."

Having led Johanna and others in the civil war of the Vestian Empire, I was able to believe without question.
Johannahs saw the Battle of Ray with their own eyes during the civil war, saw the enemy's position destroyed by a tornado of flames, and saw Seto's presence, and decided that they would never fight Ray.
That's why they emigrated to Gillum from the Vestian Empire, which is hostile to the kingdom of Mileana.
and yet Johanna had come to Gillum not to speak against Ray, but purely to be with Sett.

"Yes, leave it to me. I'm good at disassembling monsters, and I heard I could get some meat from the gigant turtleneck, so I was a little interested."
"Ah... I'll tell everyone other than Johanna, some of whom are free without being asked to kill Cobold."Johanna and others in the former squad rent a mansion and live there in large numbers.
Of course, not everyone lives in the mansion, but there are people who rent another room by themselves, who live together by making a lover, or who get married and have a family.
Still, with so many still living in the estate, it was easy to call out.

"Do so. The more people there are, the faster the dismantling of the Giant Turtle will proceed. And you don't have to worry about stealing materials."

It helps Ray that people come from the guild and watch for anyone who steals the material, but that no one steals it.
What's more, the guild today is busy with the Kobolt affair.
It will be obvious at a glance if you look at Lenora and Kenny who worked in the guild.
That's why there was a good chance of fewer people being sent from the guild than originally planned.
No, given the way Ray actually saw it, it would be reduced.
Ray has no particular complaint about that.
It was the original commitment, but given the current Cobold case, we can see that we have to prioritize it.

(If we go so far as to take out the magical stones, we might as well pass the rest to the next winter.)

The reason I can think like that is probably because of the mystery.
You don't have to worry about rotting for now if you put it in a mistling.
It shows that the current gigant turtles are still fresh.

"Ray? What's the matter?"
"No, I thought Cobold was a nuisance,"

 That's what Ray says.
In fact, that's not what Ray really thought, but it's certainly not wrong.
I don't know why, but it's because Cobold's repeated attacks on Gillum have deprived them of adventurers who would otherwise be able to use it as a human resource for demolition.

"Nobody cares that much about Cobold, though I don't know what will happen if this continues in the spring."

Now it's winter, the extension work hasn't gone that far.
We hire guards to carry out construction work in places of real importance, but there are very few places like that.
That's why we can provide guards for craftsmen, and usually such craftsmen have the courage to proceed with their work without worrying about the attack of Kobolt.
But it's only because there are a few limited craftspeople and guards.
If this happens in the spring, extension work will begin and a large number of people will be put into the extension work.
That would, as a matter of course, run short of adventurers.
Originally, adventurers were hired as bodyguards, but monsters who were not sure if they would come, and Koboldt, who was a low-rank monster, attacked in large numbers.
Which of them is more troubling...in some cases, but the latter is arguably more troubling in the sense of purely manual labor.

(When spring comes, the adventurers who have gone out during the winter will surely come back, and there will surely be more men. But... we can't just kill the Cobold.)

When the extension starts in earnest, there will be too many adventurers.

"First of all, I think we'd better do something about the Kobolt case at an early date. We still have some leeway until spring, but we don't have enough leeway to watch it slowly."

The man and Johanna nodded a little seriously to Ray's words.
