I came to break down the mud wall.
Ray told me so, but he didn't look particularly surprised.
In the first place, if you look at the red cloths in front of you, it's not hard to predict that they've come to destroy the mud wall.
It is conceivable that most people came to destroy something when they had an axe like the one used by woodcutters instead of weapons.

"Well, the mud wall. But let me tell you... the mud wall I made is not an ordinary mud wall, it's a magical thing. It's impossible to break it if you work a little hard. In fact, even if Cobold scratches it, it hardly hurts you."
"That's..."

Red cloth people are surprised that Ray isn't angry when he says he'll break the mud wall.
That's because I thought I could lose one or two of my hands and feet here.

"Oops! Why don't you get angry?"

Well, instead of Ray, a group of about ten people got angry... the man who complained about building the mud wall when Ray went to see what was going on the mud wall.

"If for any reason they can't break down the mud wall, I'm sure... if they break down for any reason, they can only build it again."

 tell someone so simply
It's as if they are saying that the sandy mountain around there has been destroyed and that they should gather sand to make a sandy mountain.
It was not the men in red cloth who were dumbfounded at the remark, but the group who had actually seen the mud wall with their own eyes.
The mud wall, which completely blocks the outside and inside of the guillem, seems like a lot of trouble for amateurs to build.
That's probably why he didn't expect such words to come out of Ray's mouth.
However, it is not that difficult to actually build mud walls with death-size topographical manipulation skills.
It takes a lot of time to soak in water and freeze it to strengthen its strength, but you can do it as soon as you call a marina.
...it would normally cost a considerable amount of money to hire a spirit wizard like Marina, but since I was a party member, I was asked to do it as if I were a helper.
Anyway, the mud wall will be completed in less than an hour with Ray and Marina.
Because he knew it, Ray simply said it... but for men who didn't understand how he built the mud wall, he honestly felt like, "What are you talking about?

"But, well..."

When some people try to say something, Ray opens his mouth to block it... and gives a murderous air.
Perhaps they didn't notice such a murder, but the men in red cloth shut up as if they were being overwhelmed by Ray's gaze.

"No matter how quickly you can fix it, I'm sure it doesn't feel good to be broken down. But aside from that, I just wanted to ask you something if you're wearing a red cloth."

Ray's attitude makes the red-clad men take a few steps back unconsciously.
I can't feel Ray's murder, but I guess he was still overwhelmed by the mysterious power.

"What?"
"You guys have something to do with the Cobold case, considering you were trying to break the mud wall. You know, you're using some kind of magic item to bring Cobold into the guillem."

It's just Ray's prediction that there's a magic item to call out Cobold... no, it's better to call it intuition and wishful observation.
Ray thought it might be impossible, but it would be a different story if people in red cloth actually showed up.
Aside from the magic items, it is highly likely that the red cloths were involved in the Kobolt case.
But... what Ray asked came out of the red cloth man's mouth was unexpected.

"What? Cobold's case... why me?"

If it had been trying to mislead something, Ray could have seen it through.
Even if you're good at telling lies and misleads Ray's eyes, it's impossible for all the red cloths here to be like that.
However, the man's expression of incomprehension made all the red cloths look alike.
It wasn't a joke, it was a sign that Ray had no idea what he meant.

(What? Is it really different? No, but why did they come to break the mud wall?)

Beyond Ray's gaze, each of the men in red cloth glances.
I don't know what Ray is saying, but I think it's better not to be careless considering the current situation.
With that kind of gaze on him, Ray wonders.

(Are they not involved in the Cobolt case, but then... wait. Now that you mention it, they didn't come here by themselves, but they said they came here when they were told to break down the mud wall. I mean...)

The pressure released from Ray's line of sight is even greater and he opens his mouth.

"Someone told you to break down the mud wall. Who told you?"

 get back there
It's understandable from what's going on that the men in red cloth are not involved in the Cobold affair.
Then what about the one who told you to break down the mud wall?
Now that we've ordered the mud wall to be torn down, there must be some reason for it.
As a matter of course, it's safe to assume that you're involved in a case of Koboldt.

(And if the people here are not informed of anything, they are just pieces of junk. ... It is highly likely that the red cloth was originally pieces of junk.)

They wait for what Ray says, but the men on red cloth don't seem to say anything to him.
Some people are looking at each other, but that's all.
It seems as if she's saying what to do with it, and Ray is a little annoyed with that attitude.

"What's wrong with you? Who asked you, is that something I can't tell you? ... I'll tell you, depending on what happens to you guys. Understand that and act."

Ray told me so, but he had no right to do anything about the men in red cloth, as long as he didn't actually encounter the scene of the mud wall being destroyed.
It's ready, and if you're a former red-clad man, you'll have to stick it out to the guards.
But the men in red cloth know full well what kind of personality Ray is, let alone a strange sense of oppression from Ray today.
It's actually mildly murderous, but none of the men in red cloth have the strength to understand it.

"Well, that's..."
"Oh, come on, can I tell you?"

One of the men in the red cloth could not stand the tension in front of Ray and tried to open his mouth, but the man beside him said puzzledly.
It's obvious that the people we've hired are not ordinary people, so it's no use thinking that if you say it here, you'll have some trouble later.
But for a man who tried to speak up, it's overwhelmingly the latter when asked whether he'd be more afraid of someone who might show up in retaliation in the future, or Ray, who's now in front of him.
 And most importantly...

"The people who hired us and gave orders were errands and so on. I've never seen the people who actually hired us! And... they've disappeared before..."

The man's words, and the fact that his companionship had disappeared, must have been something that others thought of.
Those who have looked discontented at the man who first opened their mouths will be silenced any longer.

"Doesn't that mean that your comrades are going to disappear? You're just caught by a security guard, or you're going to disappear in front of you because you don't think you'll be able to go out with me any longer?"
"Oh, yes. We talked together until just yesterday, but before we knew it, it disappeared. It happened many times."

The man's face, desperately telling me so, doesn't sound like he's lying or lying.
It's clear from the bottom of my heart that I'm saying so.

(People disappear, you know... I don't know how these red cloth guys have lived in the first place, but from what I've heard, have they all lived together? Well, I don't know that either.)

Each little disturbance occurred almost every day... or more than that, over and many times. If that happens, even if you wear a very prominent red cloth, it's not surprising that some people look at it other than that red cloth.
In fact, the man who complained to Ray in front of the mud wall remembered the face of a red cloth.
With that being the case, there is no doubt that the people of red cloth could not have gone about at will.
In particular, today's guillem comes and goes from other cities because it's winter, and there's no one going to other cities... but there are still fewer people coming and going.
Even so, they are larger than usual because of the extension work, but even so, there must have been some people in red cloth.

"Well, then, did you all live together to some extent? What did you do with food and stuff? Did the guy who hired you bring it?"
"Yes,"

They probably decided that when they got this far they wouldn't accept any lame excuses.
No one in the red cloth would interfere with Ray's first confession.

"Then is there no one here who will bring that food, then, you may understand some of the circumstances?"

Ray asks, but the man in red cloth shakes his head in denial.

"There are people like that, but they're not here. They're not all here."
"Then who leads you?"

Red cloth is not something that suits or imitates others, but rather something that is strong‐willed.
If such a group of people were gathered, it would be natural for them to fight, but there is no such thing.
...however, I might have had a quarrel with a group of people who met Ray in front of the mud wall before it got into a fight.
Anyway, when Ray asks that someone should be in charge of the leader, Akafutatsu, including the man who was speaking to him, looks at one man.
It's a man who, unexpectedly, doesn't stand out in red cloth.
But when I realized that Ray's gaze had been directed at me, I took a step forward.
Strangely enough, the first step seemed to increase the man's presence.
In fact, the others around him pretended to shift themselves out of the way.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Grande, and I am leading these people in the first place."

Ray could see that the manner in which he bowed politely was distinctly different from the others.

"I'll ask you, are you a member of a red cloth or a member of a red cloth employee?"
"Well, I guess it's hard to be honest. It's somewhere in between."

Ray wonders if it's in the middle, but he looks at Grande and urges her to move on.
Grange, too, thinks that if he does a poor job here, he'll be caught by Ray... or even worse in some cases.
Continue explaining without showing any sign of concealment.

"First of all, I'm not a member of the red cloth. I was hired to give these people a proper job in this case."

Grange tells me so, and there's something subtly convincing about the words.
As far as Ray knew, red cloth was all crude and nobody spoke like this.
As long as you don't know all the people who belong to the red cloth, there is a possibility that there was such a person in the red cloth.
But Ray is the only one who is convinced by Grange's words, and the rest of the men in red cloth look at Grange in disbelief.

(Nobody has ever said it before, though no one has seen it before. So the red cloths were hidden by their employers, but were not gathered in one place?)

Just in front of Ray's questionable gaze...The man continued to smile without particular concern for what was going on around him.
