1960 the 1960th episode

Vishela speaks admiringly when she sees the mud wall spreading before her.

"I see. With this, Cobold can't imitate coming into the guillem so easily, though, as Ray says, it's not hard to get over from the guillem side."
"Oh, I didn't expect you to do that. ... In the first place, it's winter season. Many winter monsters are stronger than regular monsters. But if you do that... it's nothing but suicide."
"Well, it would be a different story if we were to be caught if we stayed here, wouldn'
"Yes,"

He deliberately gave Gilm a monster... ...like calling a low-ranking monster like Cobold, and thus sacrificing his dangerous tentacles.
That would almost certainly result in the death penalty if caught.
...or even the death penalty could be the lightest punishment.
If you think about it, it's possible to climb over this mud wall and get out of the guillem.

(And there were few covolts today, that is to say, if we run away from here, we are less likely to be attacked by covolts as before. It is safe to think so.)

As I look at the mud wall and think so, suddenly I hear the call of a monster from the other side of the mud wall.

"Is there a covolt?"

Ray had just thought that there were only a few covolts, but did he appear as if he were betraying them.
As she thinks so, Viehra kicks in the ground and lands on the mud wall, leaving Rey's attitude intact.
The motion, which made no sense of gravity, was admirable.

"Oh, it's Goblin, not Cobold,"
"Goblin? Maybe he came here out of interest, because Covold was here every day."
"I mean, the reason Cobold has been here so far is because he feels something delicious, and because he doesn't have it, now they're... what?"
"I don't know. I can't read Goblin's thoughts."

In fact, goblins sometimes ask why they behave like that.
Ray has heard many stories about how interested he was in such a goblin situation and how he was in unexpected pain.

"And? What are you going to do about the goblin?"
"No, it's troublesome."

Vichela simply says so, kicking the mud wall with a motion that would not make him feel gravitational again, and landing on the ground.

"I thought you'd say so. ... It might have been different if it were in the rare or superior goblin species."
"Gyo-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga!"
"Gagyo Gyu!"
"Gyu-o-gyu-gyu-gyu-gyu".

The goblin's chirping intensifies as if to interrupt Ray's words.
Ray wondered why, but if you think about it, you can see Vihela riding on the mud wall from the goblin on the other side...If the goblins saw Vihela, it was only natural that they should make such a fuss.
For a goblin, a Vihela is the best game... whether or not it can defeat it.

"Very popular,"

Vichela opens her mouth discontented at Ray's slightly teasing remark.

"I wouldn't be happy if you liked those goblins, at least not stronger monsters."
"Cobold and I'm in Goblin. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .."

We still have some time until the appointed time, but if you break up with the kids on your way here, you'd better pick them up as soon as possible.
There was also a need to have a meal in advance, as it was certain that there would be a big uproar in the afternoon.
Vichela thought a little about Ray's words... and nodded.

"Well, you'd better look forward to the strong enemy of the afternoon than to the goblin that's definitely right in front of you. Then let's go. What are you going to eat for lunch today?"
"I wonder what it is. It's winter, and I think hot food is good."

That's what Ray said, but he didn't feel cold at all because of the dragon robes.
It's not snowing now, but as long as it's winter, the temperature is infinitely low.
...and yet it's only natural that we want to eat hot food in winter.

(Sukiyaki... but I don't have all the ingredients. There's no soy sauce. How do you make sukiyaki sauce in the first place? Sugar... Sake? There's no other ingredient.)

Ray wanted to eat sukiyaki just by recalling it, but there was nothing he could do about it as long as he didn't have the ingredients in the first place.
I give up thinking further and leave the mud wall with Vihela.
Beyond the mud wall, the excited cry of the goblin echoed, but Ray and Vichela ignored it.

"Come to think of it, the fact that Cobold hasn't come today means that some of the people who have been asked to kill him are going to run out of money today."
"Maybe so. But you're in trouble without someone like that, aren't you? Oh, but if you don't see the cobold, don't you have to worry about it?"
"Well, if Cobold doesn't come out the whole time, that's fine. If the damage I did to that tentacle yesterday is the cause, I don't know how long it will last."
"Well, if, in fact, Cobold appeared again when no one had been asked to subdue him, it would be a little less fashionable."

If no one is here to subdue the Cobold, Cobold, who has somehow climbed over the mud wall and entered the Gillum, will undoubtedly pass through the extension block and arrive in the crowded city.
And it's easy for Ray to imagine what the consequences would be if he met someone who didn't have the means to fight.
For the time being, Gilm is a frontier and many say he was a former adventurer.
There are more people who can fight than ordinary towns and villages, but not all of them are like that, and if you encounter children, you don't have to think about it.

"Well, that's why a watch is absolutely necessary. Before I built the mud wall... I kept watch to prevent monsters from entering the guillem from the construction site even before the large number of covolts appeared."

As they talk, Ray and Vichela walk out of the building extension... into the city, they discover Seto playing with the children.
Since it is near the site where the building is being extended, there are many vacant places around.
That's why it was a good place for children and Seto to play.

"You're smiling,"

Vihela mutters as she watches the children chasing after Seto.
But it's probably because you know about Seto.
If he knew nothing... if he had seen Ray or Sett for the first time, he would almost certainly have judged that the child had been attacked by a Gryphon.
However, few people in Gilm would know about Seto.

"Well, I will never let you imitate the sight of so many people who adore Sett that he was destroyed by the attack of Cobold."

For Ray, who considers this to be his base, his so-called location, there's no way he's going to let the pink tentacles he's calling out go wild.
That's why I was motivated to do something about this incident....though it could have something to do with the expectation that the means of manipulating the cobold would be magic items, in fact it was a ritual of some sort, and a completely different way.

"Glu? Glu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu-lu!"

You must have noticed Ray and Vihela talking.
Seto, who was playing with the children, gurgles happily at them.
And the children look disappointed, contrary to Seto's delight.
It was originally a promise that Ray would only be allowed to play with Seto while he was watching the mud wall.
That being the case, everyone understood that now that Ray was back, this was the end of his game with Seto.
I'd like to play more, but no one would say it out loud and say it out loud.
If you say that here, I know you won't let me in the next time you play with Seto... because I've seen him before.
In the end the child was forgiven for apologizing to Ray and Sett, but the honesty of the children was that they didn't want to behave like that.

"I'm sorry, we're going now because we've got something to do. If you have another chance, play with Seto."
"Grull".

 Seto's throat echoes Ray's words.
The children wave their hands a little regretfully and run away from this place for another round of play.
Relieving that the direction was not the site of the extension, Ray caressed Sett.

"Gru, gru, gru, gru, grull, "Grull, grull, grull!"

Maybe she's happy to be stroked by Ray, but she's in a good mood and choking.
For Seto, I'm happy to be caressed by the kids who were playing with me a while ago, or by someone who takes good care of me, but the happiest part is probably being caressed by Ray.
a set that rubs one's head more gently
Ray smiled at Seto's appearance and continued to stroke him...

"Well, that's fine, but why don't we go out for dinner soon? I'm going to be busy in the afternoon, and I'd like to eat as soon as possible."

 Vichela says a little dissatisfiedly.
I'm not jealous of Seto, but it's not that I don't have anything to think about when I see him stroking Seto even though he's next to me.
...that's what we would normally call jealousy, but Vihela doesn't seem to have noticed.
And he was caressing Seto... and his beloved Ray didn't seem to have noticed it, but he was simply convinced.

"Well, then, shall we go eat? ... What do you want to eat?"
"Well, it seems like we're going to move around in the afternoon, and I'd like to have a good meal."

Usually, you're going to have to work out hard so you're going to have a light meal... but for Vihela, it's probably not true.
However, Ray agreed with Vichela's opinion, and he wanted to eat Seto if he could eat it again, so no one would disagree with Vichela's opinion.

"Then it's not a sandwich or skewer, it's a solid restaurant, let alone a worry about what to eat."

Ray wanted to eat hot pot dishes because he had been thinking about sukiyaki a while ago.

"Well, it's winter. How about hot stew? It's not a stew to drink, but a stew to eat."
"Gruly!"

Perhaps responding to the word "eaten stew," Seto purrs happily.
After all, Seto would prefer eating to drinking.

"Stew? It's cold season, and that's nice. I'd like to order bread or something else."
"Well, stir-fried meat and vegetables and bread... udon sounds good, too."
"It's been a long time since I wanted to eat meat buns, but it's hard."

Previously, Ray's collaborative efforts to develop meat buns and other dishes are also quite popular in guillem, partly because Ray taught them that they are naturally winter dishes.
However, the restaurant that Ray taught directly is naturally very popular.
You have to line up to buy it at the store, and then you can't afford to buy enough of it to satisfy the lay people.

(If sukiyaki is impossible, how do you make oden or... well, I wonder how you make oden soup?)

When Ray was in Japan, he used soup stock made from oden.
Therefore, Ray doesn't know exactly how to make soup stock for oden.

(Hampen, beef suji, itsukonnyaku, potatoes, radishes, eggs... and finally, I'm putting the soup of oden on rice... Oh, I really want to eat oden.)

I really wanted to eat oden... I didn't know how to make it like sukiyaki, so I gave up on it.
