DS-3-Development base

A certain development site

It was an underground facility with no windows.

Underground facility...............It's like a secret base. Is this where the test firing is done too?

Oh, that's a lot of smashed up! Most people get scared and run away, thank God.

'I used to be an ex-corporate SE who was either successful or overworked. It's nothing like this.

I'm not going to be an SE again, though.

'I guess this was a bargain. Of course, we have a firing range in the facility. Can we make it work as a product introduction?

'That's great to hear! But before we meet with the representative?

 Great! This workplace.
It would be fun to have a free trial run.
It'd be a nice way to blow off some steam.

We're way ahead of schedule, and the boss isn't here yet. It's okay if it's just a little. We also have the real gun that Ohnaka-kun used to play with in Sabah.

Seriously, I was allowed to test fire it. The G3, which I used to love, is so heavy with a real gun. You can see the latest model of foreign guns in action. Let's try out some of the guns we have.

Thank you! Because it's important to understand the products we handle!

Oh, you call the head of this place the boss... or is he a stern guy who looks like he'd be in a cop drama? Well, I'm fine with the way they look. Black companies don't choose their customers, even if they have a bad background, if the sign is a company, they've taken orders.

But I have a feeling this is the ideal place to work!
I don't know what the job description is, but I think I'm suited for it.

Contrary to my thoughts, Murashita-san was surprised. He said he was aware of the hobby, but no one had actually asked him to test fire.

That's because he looked like a dangerous person, and normally I wouldn't ask him to do so. Of course, I'd refuse to do that if I was instructed to shoot a creature or human being, too. But considering the characteristics of the facility, there's no need to be shy about it, except for target practice.

Besides, when I told him that if it was for the Self-Defense Forces, it would be wrong not to engage in research and experience to contribute to the country (I think it's wrong to hate weapons and not do research), Murashita-san was pleased.

Despite the fact that this is an official government job, the wind is strong against the industry. Nevertheless, Mr. Murashita is proud of his work.

There are very few people in the world who are proud of their work. After all, work is in accordance with the wishes of management and shareholders, and above all, companies pursue profits. There are very few companies that will let you do a job that you can be proud of and contribute to society.

I wonder if you know how lucky you are, Mr. Murashita, to have such a job. To be honest, I'm a little jealous.

Afterwards, while I was enjoying a chat with Murashita-san, the topic of personality analysis came up. According to the personality test disguised as a questionnaire site, I was told that I was misunderstood as a cold person because it said that I was ready to kill if necessary.

Murashita-san says so, but I have a hunch.

It's not my nature to be a cold person. I had been working under tight deadlines with no room for error. Of course, I had experienced the decision to cut someone off so many times that I was able to quickly decide in an emergency whether there was an alternative or not, and if not, what I would sacrifice.

I didn't want to be that way, but after wasting time worrying about it, missing the right moment to make a decision, and causing more damage on several occasions, I learned that it had to happen.

'Some of my co-workers have had mental illnesses or committed suicide in black companies. It's normal to hold each other accountable with my colleagues. I've caused them to kill themselves...

Murashita-san was surprised by my confession.
He said I didn't look like that.

That's right, the blame game is always on the line. The difference is that the spirit of the losing teammate was already on the verge of breaking down....

The loser is condemned by others, a heavy debt to bear. They lose hope, their life itself becomes a torture, and they choose to die at the end of a long, agonizing struggle... It's a tragic end to a life that is not easy.

It happened all the time, and I thought I was the only company that was terrible. So I didn't even know they were going to kill themselves... The memory of that time is still traumatic for me. I hardly see it anymore, but it used to haunt me in my dreams.

But even if I'd known the outcome, I wouldn't have changed my behavior.

I was exhausted, and I needed a break. And yet, I already had another job lined up. A job that was so tightly bound that there was no escape.

If I had lost in that situation, I wouldn't even be able to take a nap. If that had happened, the damage would have been done to me and my men. So I think I would have made the same choice even if I knew they were already broken.

You have no choice........I deal with that kind of person in my job, so I know on a hunch. But it's a private company, right? It's like a polio-poisoning, when did Japan...

It's rarely reported that foreign trainees are being treated like slaves in Japan.

Since when? Is it since the bursting of the bubble? A business owner trying to get his employees to pay for the debt he had during the bubble, even if it meant killing them. Well, there were many small and medium-sized business owners who committed suicide.

But that's a company at the bottom. If you work for a serious company, it's impossible to feel it. In fact, I couldn't even get my friends to believe me, they thought I was making up stories...

But if you don't want to lose your company's credibility, you should look into the subcontracting structure. Non profitable compensation, tight quality, short deadlines. Probably such a situation.

There's no room for capital investment or human resources training, and the turnover rate is high. And undocumented workers with no spirit of loyalty or professionalism. These are the people who make the company's parts.

At the very least, they are either employed for life or serious performance-based. If it were either of those, it would be love of company or professionalism. Maybe you could have one of those.

In reality, no matter what you do, your wages will not increase and you will remain a non-regular employee. And yet, there is a demand for corporate spirit and further work.

How could the management think that this could be achieved? I can't help but wonder.

Furthermore, they are building factories overseas and cutting wages in the Japanese factories. If the income is unstable and low, people will lose their incentive to buy.

The average retirement savings of 30 million is the residue of the bubble era.
The current generation would be better off if they had savings of less than 10 million, wouldn't they?

While they are proclaiming their own income and stability, they don't understand the financial situation of the common people. So the people in charge of the project are self-protective and only choose projects that can be excused, and the company fades away. Or they don't understand the needs of the people, and they make unsuccessful products.

I was thinking about this while I was shooting. Then Murashita-san signals me that the boss is back.

Oh no! My thoughts inadvertently turned to resentment.

Let's go back to being a carefree, proper living a**h*le, if the disease comes back. Resentful thoughts are not particularly good.

I quickly take off my shooting goggles and earmuffs.

'Just in time, the boss is in the advisor's office, I'll show you around. He's also the one who scouted you in the preliminary research, I think he's almost certain to hire you. Go with confidence.

Thank you for the pep talk!

I will not waste your kindness. I am grateful for his thought, and I will have confidence in him.

In front of the adviser's room

This is Murashita Masashige. I'm here with Mr. Ryota Ohnaka.

Murashita-kun, thank you. Ohnaka-san, come on in.

The language is normal, but the voice is beautiful and beautiful. Is the boss a young woman? I've never had a young female boss before.

Can we have a good interview?
 Well, let's get in anyway.

Excuse me. My name is Ryota Onaka! Thank you for inviting me here.

I greeted her first, but the woman in front of me was not human in any way. She looks slightly radiant, has a beauty that cannot be human, and has a voice that seems to resonate directly into my brain. The hallucination has been cured, so I don't think it's a mistake.

I can't help but see her as a celestial maiden or a goddess....

This isn't a joke, this could really be a secondment to [other world]. I finally understood that I wasn't the big corporate scout I wanted...
