4 4. Tutorial and magic.txt

I couldn't organize my 'belongings' without stopping to do so, but I could try something else while walking. For some reason, I was strangely calm and walked down the dark corridor, muttering a word that came to mind.

'-- status, help, map, save, save, log, chat, logout, login, skills--'

I randomly came up with basic words to see if there was anything new to be 'displayed'.

There was no response to the help I wanted to see the most. Also, there was no response to the log or chat, as you would find in an online game. The only things that did respond were "Map" and "Skill".

The "map" was a simple one made up of squares. However, it seems to show only the parts that I have visited. It's a good thing that you don't have to worry about getting lost, but it's not something that will help you progress.
However, as for the 'skills', it looked like a considerable harvest was expected.

[Skill]
Inherent Skill: Swordsmanship 1.01 Freeze Magic 2.00
 Acquired skill: dimensional magic 5.00
 ? :?
 ? :?

? Two of them were labeled as such.
It seemed that whoever invented this system (I don't know if it was a man or a god, but I'll tentatively refer to it as 'he') was being shy about putting it out here. Or maybe there's another agenda, though.

Or rather, there was the usual 'magic'.
Before I knew it, I seemed to have become a wizard. Naturally, I gleefully thought of words like 'magic' and 'magic' to 'display' them.

[Magic]
Freeze Magic: Freeze 1.00 Ice 1.00
 Dimension Magic: Dimension 1.00

 I was ready for nothing.
But when I saw three magic 'displayed', I wanted to take a small leap of faith.
I don't know why I can use such magic, but I'll use what I can.
It's not strange to have a few initial skills in a game sense.

 Game wise, though: .......

I decide to give it a try and select "Ice".

'Err, out! --Ice!

I shouted and held up my hand.
What I expected to see was the sight of flying ice debris flying from my hand.

After declaring the magic, I felt something slipping away. And then the palm of my hand grew cold, and that something that was missing was gathering. It's gathering, but it's ...... too slow.

It's the small grains of ice that gather.
Perhaps the molecular motion is stilling and freezing on top of the moisture in the air gathering. However, the magic 《ice》 that took about ten seconds to form was only a single palm-sized piece of ice that occurred.
By the way, it didn't fly away. No matter how you look at it, it is unlikely to be a means of attack.

''............''

 What is magic? .......
 Ugo-go-go .......

Does this count as living magic?
From what I've seen so far, I was expecting something flashy to counter the monsters, so I wasn't disappointed.

But since the ice was made, I took out the corpse's clothes from the "belongings" and cut out only the clean parts to make a simple ice bladder. --I made it, but when I put it to the burn marks, it caused a dull ache, so I threw it away immediately.

Next, I tried out the "freeze".

"--Magic [Freeze]!

But it was a similar result.
I could only feel the temperature around me dropping very slowly.

I was worried about the last "dimension".
I think the word "dimension" meant dimensions or dimensions, as I recall.
Based on the previous example of freezing magic, I expect that effects related to the meaning of that word will appear.
I thought it might appear in the warp zone and get out of this labyrinth, but it was unlikely that there was any magic that could completely break this situation from the beginning. As long as I couldn't clearly imagine the effects, I refrained from using this magic. To put it bluntly, I'm afraid that if it's not good, it's going to be a black hole or something.

However, this is not an interruption in the trial and error of magic.
Since it's a good time, I'm going to imagine a different magic.

''--well, recovery magic, white magic, magic acquisition, new, new magic, first aid, burns, healing--''

It didn't hit me at all.
I wanted some kind of recovery system magic somehow ...... but somehow, I don't seem to have that available to me. However, an interesting 'display' appeared in it.

[Allocation of points]
Swordsmanship 1.01, Freezing Magic 2.00, Dimensional Magic 5.00
Your current skill points are 0.

 Zero, apparently.
Presumably, the points will accumulate as the level increases, but .......
 Level ......?

[Level up menu]
 805/100
 Conditions met.

I remembered that when I was 'showing' the status screen earlier, there was a column for experience and the numerator exceeded the denominator. Sure enough, it's possible to level up.

However, I have a bad feeling about the "Meets the requirements" notation.
It's likely to be an optional level-up, not an automatic level-up.
Furthermore, there's a good chance that the method is severe.

In the meantime, I decided to find a way to do the optional level-up.

'If you can, please level up--! Ouch!

At that moment, I suddenly felt heat in my right arm.
When I looked down, I saw that my upper arm had been torn open and was bleeding.

''--?

 Immediately, I look around.

I caught something moving in the corner of my vision.
 It was a distortion.
A distortion the size of a human head floats in the air and wavers with the sound of tiny wings.
Upon closer observation, the silhouette of the 'distortion' is almost like an insect.

''Monster!''

 Quickly switch your thoughts.
It was a switch that I could make because reality was not normal and I was losing myself.
Switching from that (...) when you are going about your daily life to that (..) when you are playing a game. My brain, which was on the verge of becoming paralyzed, became specialized in game-like efficiency.

'This--!

I reflexively slashed up the sword in my hand from below.
However, it is dodged just before by the 'distortion'.

After confirming that I've been dodged, I immediately rush out.
I take my distance from Distortion as I return to the path I came from.

In case I've dodged the first blow. Or, if I can withstand it - and I'll never force myself to do so then - so I've decided in advance.

It's not an uncharted path, but a path I've taken once, and I'm going back.
I hear the sound of feathers chasing me from behind, and I calmly measure the distance.

It's natural that he's chasing me, but the direction of the enemy is directly behind me.
Then it's just a matter of timing.
With the materials we have, we can counterattack.

I formulate a counterattack in my mind.
Some might say it's a game, but I thought it was worth a try.

As the enemy gets closer, I quickly take out a leather bag of water from my 'possessions' and smash the entire contents backwards.

The sound of feathers was disrupted and a screeching sound could be heard.
If it was a creature with wings, I stepped on the possibility that it would be vulnerable to water.
And just because it was a game bug didn't mean it couldn't work. The outline of the 'distortion' begins to be clearly visible. Furthermore, its movements were clearly beginning to slow down.

Confirming this, I quietly release my magic.

''--[Freeze]''

However, it's a magic that lowers the temperature ...... At this rate, the enemy may be vulnerable to the temperature difference as well.
I decided the safest thing to do was to use my magic and end it at a distance.

'I'm not going to tell you to freeze, but I'd like to see you fall to the ground ......

The "distortion" flies towards me like a vicious struggle.
However, its movement is weak and it never reaches me. I 'watch' that way and try not to miss anything.

[Monster]
 Darkling Fly: Rank 2

 That's where the 'display' occurs.
The 'display' refers to a 'distortion' and represents that information.

 ...... terrible.

 Honestly, this is awful.
Perhaps this Mr. Darkling Fly is a monster that uses disappearing as a weapon. Despite this, the 'display' doesn't hesitate to keep pointing out that the monster is here.

There was no longer an element of attack.
I used my sword to knock off the 'distortion' that was becoming duller and duller as time passed, at the appropriate point.

The 'distortions' that fell away disappeared with the light, leaving a dull, transparent stone.

Incidentally, the stone was 'labeled' as a 'Tenth Rank Magic Stone'. I also checked the fluctuations in experience, and overall, I judge that 'Darkling Fly' was a lower-ranked monster.

''Hmm, hmm ....... Was it a waste to spend tools and MP on a rank 2 monster ......?

My remaining MP was now at 68.
I still have more left, but I don't know what will happen if I waste it.

I retrace my steps and continue along the uncharted corridor.

Along the way, I resume my research on leveling up.
However, after spending a few minutes investigating - in the end, I was unable to level up.
It seemed that in order to level up, he needed to meet some special condition.
The only thing I had was an excessive amount of experience, which made me feel toothless.

After the investigation was over, the next step was to think back to the battle I had just experienced.
It was a surprise attack by a monster that was difficult to see. If this had been a more vicious monster instead of a rank 2, I would have lost my life.

It would be better to try out the 'display' after we've secured our safety.
Otherwise, you'll be distracted and caught off guard.

As I was thinking about this, I heard a noise in the distance.
In the direction I'm heading, there's a huge insect standing there.

It's the first monster I encountered when I first arrived here.
I 'gaze' at the giant insect with its two deformed horns that are distinctive.

[Monster]
 Ripper Beadle: Rank 3

You can likely judge the means of attack from the name, but it's best not to move with any preconceived notions.
I'm going to be in the middle of the pack, ready to deal with whatever comes my way.
The Ripper Beadle seems to be aware of this and is slowly closing the distance between us.

It's a rank 3, but I don't know how much danger they are hiding.
However, having just seen the carelessness of rank 2, I'm thinking that if it's rank 1 to 5, it's safe to just use the sword that is left to my physical strength.

The ripper beadle rushes at me abruptly after closing a certain distance.
However, it is much slower than the giant wolf.
I swing my sword out as we pass each other.

''Sssshhhh!

There was a high-pitched sound like iron and steel striking each other, and the sword bounced.
It might have been a bad place to cut. But I didn't expect such a heavy blade to be flicked so easily. With a stylish, "Sssay! I've tried to say that, but I'm not getting my teeth into it in a double sense.

However, as far as the enemy's movement is concerned, I don't have much of a problem with it.
It's much slower than that giant wolf, much slower than that slightly pathetic 'Darkling Fly'.
I take out one of my tools from my 'possessions' in order to execute another plan I had in the corner of my head.

In the meantime, the Ripper Beadle just kept on rushing.
 I avoid that rush.
Of course, I don't just avoid them. The first time I poured oil on the Ripper Beadle to avoid it, and the second time I used a lighter to light it.

I thought I would have to try several times to light it, but luckily I succeeded once.
The ripper beadle becomes a fireman and begins to thrash about.

'Ugh, wow. ......'

We watched as the high temperature caused the ripper beadle to lose its joints and dislodge its limbs.
It seemed to be an invertebrate, so it was vulnerable to high temperatures. As soon as it stopped moving, I poked it with my sword in various places and it disappeared as a light.
At the same time, a stone fell with a plop.

When I 'gazed' at the black stone dropped by the monster this time--

[Black Bug Stone]
Unlike normal magic stones, a magic stone composed of the magical power of the insect attribute
There is no grade, and it can drop from any insect monster, as long as it's from an insect monster.

Sho, the details are out there: .......
This 'view' also allows you to see the details?
 It's too convenient.

Immediately, I started to look up the details of all the things I didn't understand.

First, let's start with the equipment.
Long-named items such as Elfen's Cloak and Auria's Great Sword seem to have a bit of a blessing attached to them. Elfen's cloak protects you from high and low temperatures, while Aurian's great sword seems to give you a bonus if you are facing a higher rank than you.

I don't know how much those numbers affect me, but apparently the items have a set attack and defense power, so I know it's important to look at the details.

And then I look at the details of the magic I was most interested in.

[Dimension]
 MP1 consumption
The foundation of dimensional magic. Aids in spatial grasping for the amount of the wielder's ability.

It was just an auxiliary magic.
Hopefully, I wanted to return to the original world with warp-like magic, but it wasn't that convenient.

''--Dimensional Magic [Dimension]!

For now, let's check what it's all about - the moment you tell the magic name, your five senses instantly sharpen up.
Furthermore, something that should be called the sixth sense, 'something that is not the five senses', picks up information about the surroundings.
I can perceive space clearly within a radius of about five meters.

'Hey, this is good ......!

I've had a variety of advantages, but I find this magic to be the most amazing thing about it.
The best thing is that the search ability is greatly improved.
You can feel the danger of your life decreasing rapidly.

I measure the duration of the Effectiveness of Dimension while making use of its strange ruse ability to move through the labyrinth.

Sometimes I find things, sometimes I try new systems - while walking.

There was no such thing as being caught off guard when the 《Dimension》 was working.
This is because as long as it was within the area of its effect, it would never miss a living thing.

Using the 《Dimension》, I was able to keep track of the "map" more and more.
This is many times faster than before.

--it was just enough of an element to create carelessness from me.

I was buoyed by the overwhelming advantage I had in magic.
I was overconfident that I had thought this game-like labyrinth through and was doing the best I could.
It's a good thing that I'm not the only one.
