32 Episode 31 Dragons and Reports

I wasn't happy to see any more strange things, so I decided to go straight home. The appraisal would have to wait until I left the cave.
Since it came out of the mine, I have to tell Mr. Gainta about it. I don't think I should take it home without permission.
There were no artifacts on Earth, but if treasure came out of the ground, the owner of the land would have had some rights.

Widen the hole a bit more and jump back to the mine.
I've gotten used to jumping onto scaffolding that's almost two meters above me. When I first came here, the idea of jumping onto a scaffold of this height did not occur to me until I consciously thought about it. Now it's a natural feeling.

Even if I jumped up, the reason I came here in the first place wasn't to find artifacts, but to get rid of my magic overload.
What am I supposed to do? I can't be sure.
The place where the problem was increased the MP limit, so the status might tell me. It's a human detector.
So I opened the status and looked at the MP column. Let me guess from the change in MP.

 MP:673122/94528637
 MP:676564/94528637
 MP:685732/94528637
 MP:689238/94528637

 Huh!
There's something wrong with the way I'm recovering.
It used to heal by the minute, but now it's increasing at an irregular pace. Also, the limit is wrong. It's almost a hundred million.
To be honest, I can't even follow the lower digits with my eyes.
...... Well, it's recovering, so things have certainly changed since the time when it stopped recovering.
I'm going to look at the skills to see if they are affected.

Skills: Information Manipulation Analysis (Concealment), Complete Mastery of Otherworldly Languages (Concealment), Magical Qualities, Martial Arts Qualities, Otherworldly (Concealment), All Attribute Affinity (Concealment), Fire Magic 3, Earth Magic 3, Water Magic 3, Pressure Magic 1, Perception Magic 4, Restoration Magic 2, Swordsmanship 2, Magical Adaptation unknown

No change. I don't know if it's gone up or not because it's unknown.
I don't know if it's gone up or not, but it's gone up to almost 100 million. I don't think it can go up this much, considering the pace at which it came.
Could it be that the demons that disappeared after the bare-knuckle attack didn't just disappear, but were absorbed?
It seems to have been formed by gathering something from the surrounding area, and since it happened in the same place and at the same time, there is a high possibility that this something is related to the maximum MP or the excess of magic power.
Did you really absorb (eat) it?
It doesn't seem to have any immediate effect on your health, but I don't feel good about it. Let's just say that my MP has increased.

MP has stopped rising and is recovering, so I guess I should report this too.
But seeing MP is rare and there's no need to tell, so I'll just play along.
The pressure of feeling like you have too much magic is gone! or something like that. If you say something like, "I don't know, but I feel like it," they will interpret it on their own.
It's not like they're asking for your opinion as an expert, anyway.

Thinking about this, I walked up the hill and came back to the entrance. It was already midnight outside.
Thank God the path was easy to follow. Otherwise, I might have been lost in the mine.
From the outside, it looked like a forest, not a building, so we could have escaped by crafting the ceiling of the mine a bit, but we would have been in a lot of trouble if they had dug a hole in the ceiling that led to the ground. There is a high possibility of a cave-in.
Everyone had gone home for the day, so I figured I'd report back in the morning, had some food, and went back to my room.
Time for appraisal and reading. First, the sword. It's quite long, about a meter and a half, but it's slender and doesn't feel too heavy. It's about twice as heavy as Dverag's sword, but from where I stand right now, it's not that heavy.
The color is somewhere between blue and black, and there is no decoration. It does have a tsuba. Anyway, here's an appraisal.

 Magic Sword Artifact
Description: A sword that is magically connected to the user and strengthens itself with the magical power granted by the user.

It seems to be an artifact after all. If you're looking for an artifact, you're going to have to look at the artifact itself. I'm not sure how it works as an artifact, though.
I'd like to have it. I'll just steal it.
No, that's not a good idea. We're going to be business partners for the rest of our lives, and you're going to have a guilty conscience.

Next. Something that looks like a light from a demon.

 A lantern. An artifact.

Description: A magical stone product that emits light through stored magical power.

When I tried to put magic power into it, it emitted a quantity of light that exceeded that of LEDs used for room lighting in Japan. Obviously, the amount of light was greater than that of the magical lanterns found in hotels.
In addition, for some reason, it was not glaring even when I looked directly at it. It's a strange light.
By the way, I wonder how to turn it off. There's no button or switch on it. It's just a ball.
It's just a ball. I'll put it in the item box for now.
 Next is a black ball.

 Wisp Core
Description: The core of a wisp. Conducts and holds magic power very well.

The name of the wisp should be "magic stone". It is not the core of a wisp.
In other words, this is probably not a magic stone, but the core of something that looks like a demon, probably a creature named Wisp.
I'm not an expert, but what you've written seems to be very useful.
This should be mine, since it came from a demon I defeated during my work as an adventurer. I'll report it to you.
The lantern also came from a wisp, but it's an artifact, so there's a good chance that it was originally there.
It may be like a mourning god, but we should consult with it. I wonder if this will be treated as if a demon stole something from you and you defeated it.
In the case of a thief, the thief is basically the property of the adventurer who defeated the thief, but this suppression was at the request of Mr. Gainta.
We'll have to negotiate that later.

Finally, at last, something that looks like a notepad. Since it was found with the artifact, it may contain information from that era.
 If it's a diary or something, it's a laughingstock.
The first page seems to be the cover. It is faded, but you can faintly see the characters that say "report". There is a high possibility that the pages have deteriorated, so you turn the pages slowly and carefully by hand.
It would be better to use tweezers or something, but unfortunately I don't have any here.

 ---------- -- -------------------------

 August 4, rain

Failed to defeat the dragon, probably due to the betrayal, lack of magic. I couldn't get the wizard in time.
We succeeded in guiding the dragon to appear and deploying a magic formula, so it is expected that the dragon has already recovered, though it probably took some damage.
I told the location of the wizards who could not participate in the defeat, and dispersed as many wizards as possible to various places and let them go. I propose that we concentrate as many wizards as possible to defeat them again. There is no more time left.
We will now begin our journey home.

 August 15th, fine

The continent of Parmen has been destroyed, completely consumed by the flames of the dragon, and few survivors can be expected.
This has probably killed about 60% of the wizards, and it is no longer possible to secure enough wizards to defeat the dragon by normal means.
We must defeat them even if we have to consume wizards. I should have done so sooner.
We will probably reach King's Landing in about two days.
I hate my ability to do nothing but gather information. I had to leave King's Landing because of the lack of wizards. The quality of my wizardry is also deteriorating rapidly due to magical disorders.
With dragons appearing every two years, I wonder if this world is reaching its limits.

 August 16th, weather unknown

It was supposed to be the day before we arrived at King's Landing, but King's Landing has been destroyed.
The dragon fire seems to have stopped halfway between here and King's Landing, and now I'm in a shelter, but that's no comfort.
 It's over.

 August 17th, weather unknown.

I've got a bad case of demon damage. Looks like I'm done here.

 ---------- --I think I'm done here. -------------------------

And it's written in something that looks like ink. The words seem to be different from the language used in this country now.
It says "report," but there was only text on the first page. And the writing style is not like a report.
There are a lot of dangerous things in there, but let's try to summarize the information for now.

First of all, it seems that dragons are to be defeated by wizards.
From the way it is written, it probably requires a lot of wizards.
I'm not sure about "inducement to appear" and "deployment of magic", but from the way it's written, it seems to be something like limiting where dragons appear.
Do dragons appear suddenly one day? I don't understand it, though it says something about a two-year interval.
Deploying a technique probably means an attacking technique.
If you fail to defeat it, the country or continent will be destroyed in a few days. I wonder how big it is.

Next, there is the magical disorder. I honestly don't know what the symptoms are, but it might have something to do with the overload of magic power from the cave I explored.
The new skill that came with my assault on the cave is also a magical adaptation. From the way it's written, I wonder if magical disability is also a cause of lowering the quality of wizards.

King's Landing and the Parmen continent are probably continents and countries from the time this was written. This information is useless now.

I guess the shelter is that building. I think the walls were a slightly blueish color, which we don't see often here.
The person who wrote this seems to be a wizard, but the weapon he had was a sword. There is no description of the circumstances surrounding this.
Well, I don't hear of any widespread use of dragons or magical disorders, so it's none of my business.
I'll dispose of the remains here. The family probably won't survive.
