19-CHAPTER XIX: A MAGAINST THE GUILD LIBRARY...

It wasn't long after I entered the dungeon that I felt like a liability.

I was always protected by him. With him I felt like I could do anything, and I did.

I could tell my annoying friends that I didn't like them, I could be an adventurer in the guild, I could even dive into the dungeon and shoot magic and kill monsters.

It's unbelievable.

It's like a miracle.

I could never have done this on my own.

Without him I can't even walk outside by myself. I'm always getting in someone's way and getting tangled up with them because I'm so frightened.

He is not a shy person, but he is like a "home" for me. When I am around him, I feel safe, confident, bold, and can do anything.

He says that I am blessed with skills. And yet, it doesn't matter.

I can't do anything alone.

But I'm a liability.

I was kidnapped, put to sleep, and it cost him his life. He risked his life to save me. I should have risked mine for you, Mary.

I couldn't do anything.

I couldn't even get away.

I didn't want to cause him any more trouble.

So I--

'I want to study magic.

Second day. After dinner, I went to the guild with Ra-kun.

Anna accompanied me as Ra-kun went to report the "beginner hunters" to the staff.

It was the perfect opportunity, so I told her what I had said earlier.

Do you want to study?

I nodded to Anna, who asked back.

'I want to catch up with you, Ra, even if only a little. The ......'

Not to be abandoned.

I want to help Mary. But I don't want him to leave me as much as I want him to leave you. I'm a coward. I know that maybe we should break up the party. But I can't do that because I can't live without him. If I lose my home, I'll die.

I heard that many mages become scholars and researchers in the future. ....... That means that study and research are connected to magic. ............ right?
'Exactly, but ......'

The answer is not very clear-cut, which makes me uneasy.

'...... is not good enough?'

Then Anna hurriedly said, "No, no.

I was surprised! I said, "How did they know! Yes, for a mage, earning experience by defeating monsters and fulfilling guild requests is a direct way to level up. But, by deepening your knowledge of magic, you can accumulate more experience and learn magic more easily!

Anna grabs my hand.

'Who told you that! That's exactly how a traditional mage practices! Some mages go around all day blasting slimes and giant slugs, but that's much more efficient! I wonder if you have a master who taught you?''
'No, no, I just thought it might be ......'
'No way! You got there on your own! You didn't learn it from anyone, you found the best way! That's great, Prine. It's not every day that a girl your age knows exactly what she's supposed to be doing.
'Uh, I'm just, Ra-kun's ......'.
'The motive can be anything. If you have a goal and the ability to 'think' about the best means to get there, you can be anything!
'Oh, no. ......'
'Leave it to me, Prine. I'll prove with you the correctness of the 'shortest route' that you've come up with. In fact, the mages of the world should study harder. All they care about is to shoot out flashy magic .......

Anna then took us to the guild library.

'If you want magic, this is the place. There are a lot of resources for basic knowledge and applied theory.

As you said, it was a pile of books. I'm short, and I feel like I'm going to be buried.

Still.

'Wow ...... wow wow wow, that's great Anna! So many books! I'm dying of happiness!

All the books here are my food. All the books that are gathering dust here are my strength to keep me close to Mr. Ra.

How wonderful!

I go around the magic shelves and pick up every book that looks like it.

'This one and this one: ....... This one is ......, I guess it's still a long way from ......'.

He finds one that looks good and asks the librarian to check it out. Yes, you can borrow them. It is really wonderful. As a registered member of the guild, my borrowing record appears on the status sheet. It means that my study will appear on the sheet as well.

I am getting fired up.

A small voice says, "Oh! Raise your hand.

We return to the inn where we are staying and wait in the next room for the "beginner hunter" to arrive. He is still very cool. I couldn't help but hug him.

I showed him the book and he said, 'That's Prine! He complimented me. I'm glad. Good luck.

He has no doubt that I will become the Sorcerer King. I'm sure of it.

In fact, he's choosing a job in anticipation of my becoming a great mage. He does not seem to be interested in learning advanced magic - magic that can only be used in advanced jobs.

So, I will make up for it.

I don't have the skill set to raise several levels in a day like Ra-kun. I don't know any special training methods. All I can do is to keep on working hard.

Still, I will not give up.

Because I am the woman who will become the Sorcerer King.
