86 - BBQ on the beach for the hard work party~ She was eventually blown away~

"Hey! Locke, you're crazy! Why is it that our mother is one of you without saying anything to those of us who fought with you!"

After the case was solved, we had a BBQ on the beach and talked. It was quite a big affair, with half-mermaids, grizzlies, and others joining in.

The problem was that we had brought Mellow into the group.

I thought it would be best to inform May and the others about Mellow as soon as possible, but they didn't seem to understand.

"Mellow wants to join us, and why should we refuse?"

"Then I'll join you, too, Rock."

I'll join you too!

May and Madeline wanted to join us, and they were coming on to me.

I thought it would be fine if they wanted to join us, but unexpectedly, they voiced their objections.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but you can't do this, can you?"

Mellow said, as if muttering to May and Madeleine.

"Why not? We worked so hard to save you, Mom. We've fought half-maids, we've been in the middle of a city of unfamiliar people, we've done this, that, and the other thing to help Locke."

This is a very misleading statement, but since I was not in the mood for a tirade, I decided to take a wait-and-see approach. Involved accidents happen everywhere.

It is not always right to make a comment.

"I want May to learn from this. You're the only one who can take my place. I think this incident is necessary for your development. I know you've been a little too free-spirited growing up, so I want you to learn the importance of how to organize yourself around your peers. It makes a big difference what you can do if you rely on someone else instead of doing it all yourself. I also want Madeline to be a strong supporter of May. Of all the mermaids out there, you are the only one who can support her and scold her for her selfishness. I know that the two of you will be able to overcome any obstacle.

"Mom."

"JoOusama ......"

For a moment, everyone in the room thought it was going to be an emotional scene, but then Madeline and May raised their voices in unison.

"You really want to get rid of us, don't you!"

"You've got a sharper instinct than I thought. I'm tired of being queen, and now that we've caught you, I'm thinking. I thought a human town would be more interesting.

"Fine. You can't quit as queen just because of that. Madeline, you have to cooperate. I may be your mother, but I will not allow you to do this.

"Fine! I can't delay my wedding any longer than I have to. A mermaid's season is shorter than you think. I can't be a mermaid for such a selfish princess.

The battle between Mellow, May and Madeline was about to begin.

The members, who seemed to have no interest in the battle between the three of them, proceeded to have a BBQ with Patra in the center. The children don't seem to care about the adult situation.

"Papa, I want to eat those clams!

"Yes. They're cooked just right.

"Mr. de Morte, this crab is very sweet and tasty."

"Here, here, here, here... It's got a nice texture. It's so juicy!

Patra, Lala, and the others are leisurely enjoying the seafood.

The mermaids have caught this seafood from the sea, so it is extremely fresh and alive. Mr. Gargoyle seems to be an expert in seafood cooking, and he continues to cook the fish, much to everyone's amazement.

The orange-antes, who had not been outside for a while, seemed to be enjoying themselves.

While the mermaids were struggling to find an heir, the orange-antes were running out of fish, so they went out to catch them themselves on their wyverns.

Since I had Mellow as a member, the conversation shifted to the heir issue, so we decided to have a BBQ of seafood.

When the orange-antes ran out of fish and shellfish they wanted to eat, they would take to the skies on their wyverns, aiming precisely for the fish. The little dragon knights are cool to watch from below. I think it is necessary to improve our fighting skills, but in reality, we are happy to be able to use our power to obtain food in such a leisurely manner.

A world without conflicts is absolutely impossible, but the ability to hunt for food for everyone is many times better than the power to fight.

Without strength, we cannot survive, but I really hope that people will learn how to use their strength properly. Perhaps it is because there are too many bad examples around me.

The little dragon knights immediately bring the food they have picked up to Mr. Gargoyle and ask him to cook it for them. This is direct delivery.

"Rock ...... what the hell are you?"

Grizz looks at me as if I'm looking at something out of this world, but I'm at a loss as to what to say. As I thought for a moment about what to say, Shannon followed up.

"Mr. Locke is just a ...... softy. He is always trying to help those around him by thinking and thinking about how to avoid causing harm to others. He is always trying to help those around him by thinking and thinking about the damage he can do to those around him. Even more ...... hiccups ...... about me. ...... about me."

Shannon suddenly raised the cup high in the air and spun around to lie on her back on the beach.

 Who let Shannon drink?

It's okay to get a little wild once in a while.

"Rock, I'm sorry, I brought the booze. But I'm sure Shannon's not far off. No doubt Locke's a good-natured guy. With a force this strong, he could have done it any number of ways, but he didn't."

Grizz apologizes and hands me a drink as well.

I take it and sip it lightly.

"I'm not just a good-natured guy. "I'm not just a good-natured guy," he says, "but I do want the people I deal with to be happy, in a good way. Especially the ones who don't mean me harm."

You're a strange guy.

I don't want Grizz to be the only one to say that.

Grizz and I clink glasses gently against each other.

As we take our time talking, it seems that the three of us have reached an agreement.

I guess they never found a compromise, because Mellow eventually blasted them both over the horizon with his water magic.

Sun was about to go after May, but gave up when Mellow waved his hand to indicate that they did not have to go.

As for Mei, she was still in good health even after Lucky's wind magic, so the water magic would not kill her.

I wondered if this was the right way to say goodbye for the last time, but I agreed with Mellow that it would be hard if I missed the age when I would have to leave my parents.

And it's not that I can't see them.

Despite all this, the BBQ went on happily and became a place for mermaids and half-mermaids to interact with humans. The next day, it was decided to have a grizzly vs. mermaid and half-mermaid training session on the water for further interaction.

I honestly can't wait to see how well the Grizzlies do.
