93 - To buy snow stones...

"Rock, look at that! That's the village of Colon."

Grizz pointed in the direction of a wall made of solid wood.

"That's a pretty good wall for a village," he said.

"That village must have made a lot of money processing snow stone.

It took nine days to reach the village of Colon, faster than Griz had expected.

This was partly due to the power of Domorte's magic, but also because the snow fell earlier than usual and the sun melted some of the snow that had accumulated.

However, near the village of Colon, the snow was up to our thighs.

It would be hard for people living in this area as it would accumulate even more as winter approaches.

There was a single gate guard standing guard at the gate of the village.

It is rare to see a soldier standing guard over a small village.

We quickly made our way to the village and Griz called out to the gate guard.

Griz, the merchant. I've brought relief supplies for the village. I want to talk to the chief."

He then hands something that looks like a piece of paper to a soldier.

"Thank you for coming all the way out here in the snow. I would like to check the inside of the carriage just to be sure.

"Oh, please make it quick, it's cold."

"Yes, sir."

The soldiers called out to some of the people in the packing house, and they divided up to check the Grizz merchants' baggage.

They didn't seem to suspect that we had come all the way here to shovel snow because of our documents, so it was all done in a friendly, formal manner.

"Thank you for your patience. Thank you for bringing these supplies. Please go inside. You can find the village headman's house at the end of the street from here.

When the soldier opened the gate, there was no snow inside the village.

"So there is no snow at all inside the village."

"I don't know if it's true or not, but it is said that there is a blessing of fire from the ground here. I don't know if it's true or not, but it's said that there's a blessing of fire from the ground here. However, plants don't seem to grow well, so they rely heavily on food support from the outside.

"Wow, I didn't know there was such a thing."

Unlike the damp soil outside, the soil inside the village was completely dry.

It would have been very difficult to spread combustible stones in such a large village.

The village headman's house had a sign in front of it that read in large letters "Kolon Village Headman's House.

The sign was so self-assertive that I was taken aback.

Next to the village headman's house, there was a place where wagons were parked and we parked our wagons there.

We go to the chief's house to say hello, but what about Locke and the others? You can go for a walk in the village if you like.

"Really? Well, I guess I'll just go for a walk.

"Well then, I guess I'll go for a walk in the village." "Take care. Oh, and while you're at it, why don't you go look for some snow stones?

Okay. What type do you want?

I want a necklace type, so I can adjust the size easily.

Okay. You got it.

You want Rock to pick it out?

Grizz looks at me with a very worried look on his face.

Grizz's face was very different from the expression he usually wears on his face when he is doing business.

"Mr. Grizz, I'll be here, don't worry.

"Shannon, I'm sorry about ...... Rock, but I'm looking forward to working with you."

Grizz took both of Shannon's hands in his and waved them up and down as if to say, "I'm glad you said that.

It's pretty disconcerting, but ...... I can pick out something in good taste too.

We parted ways and headed straight for the village store that sold general merchandise.

The village was not so big and we could easily find the store, although the wall was very impressive.

"Rasshai!"

I opened the door of the store and an unmotivated-looking clerk called out to me from his chair.

His gaze is fixed somewhere in the air, as if he does not intend to serve the customers.

"Excuse me, sir. I'm looking for a snow stone.

"What are you, a traveler? I'm sorry, we don't sell snowflakes at .......

"What? I heard you can buy it in this village.

"Well, they do sell it, but only in the summer. Well, they do sell them, but only in the summer time. The snow stones are made in the winter and processed in the spring, and then sold out during the summer.

"You don't sell any?"

"No, we don't. You'll have to wait until the summer.

He then went to several similar stores, but really nowhere could he find any.

"Mr. Locke, you haven't sold any at all. It's a shame, because I wanted some too.

"They really don't sell them. I even brought Grizz relief supplies.

As we were heading back to the chief's house, we heard some sort of dispute at the first general store we went to.

"That's why I said this village is in danger without the magic stone.

There are only a limited number of magic stones in this village. Go home. I can't give you what I can't give you.

The door to the general store was opened and two men ran out.

A magic stone. ...... I can give it to you depending on your reasons. .......
