397-Chapter 12 The Welcome of the Church

Our airship had just landed on top of the tarmac when all of a sudden, I saw a large red dot appear on top of the small map.
"Wow~ It looks like we had a pretty grand welcome, that's almost 20 people, almost as many as a Saints execution squad."
"Oh?"
I turned to Dale and looked at him with a curious look.
"What's up? Weird, I know?"
Dale responded with a smile.
"The average person wouldn't understand this sort of thing, would they?"
"Of course, at the time this wasn't a secret once the Church started using the terminals we produced. Their battle formations, the types of weapons they used, the skills they used, everyone's background information. Basically, it was all inside the network of the terminals. Of course, the Pope and some of the bishops are not as complete, according to the data above, their information is in their database. Only written records."
"That sounds good."
I nodded.
"I think that information is pretty important."
"Hey, hey, hey, are you thinking of stealing something now? We're surrounded by a bunch of Saints, and these guys should have about the same fighting power as us if we take turns alone."
"Should?"
Dale spread his hands.
"I was referring to the hierarchy."
"Well, but let's work together a little."
"That's right."
The hatch took its time, and Dale and I emerged from inside the cabin. But we were greeted by a large group of acolytes, the powerful guardians of the Church.
It seems that the Church's strength is pretty good, this fighting power is comparable to a legion of the Empire.
That's right, it's no joke that just these 20 or so people can take out tens of thousands of compiled scrolls. I know because if it were me, I could too.
"Linfield?"
A middle-aged man in a long white robe standing at the front of the room looked at us and said.
"I am, what is it?"
As I said that, I had already opened the edited magic skill bar on behalf of the others.
These guys always do this for a reason, and it looks like the target on the other side is me, and the only trait in me that could lead to this is that I'm an undead holy angel.
So while I'm a human, I'm actually considered a magician by definition.
"Orgy-Light Holy Sword!"
A huge radiant magic appeared directly behind him before ripples appeared throughout the magic circle, and then countless lightsabers shot out directly inside the magic circle, shooting overwhelmingly towards me.
"Electromagnetic..."
I reached out to stop Dale, then waved my hand, and a huge shadow of light flashed in front of us.
"Orgy-Angel's Shield!"
The lightsaber landed directly on top of the shield, which made a flash and then absorbed it all.
En, the effect was better than I expected.
As the book says, light has an overwhelming advantage over darkness already undead, and for the other attributes... Well, what can I say, you don't think someone turning a flash on you should have any other effect than blinding you.
Probably, maybe sunlight can also cause skin cancer, since some attacks also cause skin burning or something.
And light magic vs. light magic, how to say, I wonder if the light gods created these magic to stop their own people from killing each other, when two light magic appear, the stronger one will absorb the weaker one.
What a convenient and simple law of the weak and the strong, I like it.
"Well, that's really impressive, I thought the person who wanted to use this technique had to be at least 50 years old."
The middle-aged man laughed, then said.
"At first sight today, it really isn't simple. Not bad for being able to make Yabai appreciate it so much and make that guy Gabriel choose to leave the church. It seems that there is indeed something very magical about you."
"Well, you too, for someone you meet for the first time to directly attack with a lightsaber, not to mention anything else, I think you understand that lightsabers actually still carry a certain amount of heat, and if it might be very irritating to the skin, some nobles might very well file a complaint against you for affecting their health."
"Accusations, ah, no one usually does that either."
The other party looked innocent.
"Besides, we don't normally use lightsabers directly."
"Then it seems that we are indeed extraordinary guests... Well, let's get back to the topic at hand. Are you guys planning to welcome us or expel us."
"Well, we were originally still discussing about that, but seeing that you had no fear of a lightsaber and then used light magic so simply, I think you are now our guest."
"That's quite an honor."
I could only grin, sure enough the church was a hang, and greeting you with a bit of magic could still be considered a greeting.
"I told you, this guy is definitely the real deal, I told you when I met him a few months back."
And then a guy came out of the group of Saints behind him, and well, I kind of knew this guy because I had seen this guy with Yabai before.
George Baile.
LV66 Swordsman LV42 Light Wizard.
Neutral - The Old Way - One Strike Will Kill - Sword Expert - Saints - Darkness of the Church - [Back of the Light] - Former Bishop
Well, I couldn't see all the information before, but now I can see it all straight away, it's nice.
"You're looking a lot stronger again kid, how about it, the invitation to be a saint that I said I'd let you be is still valid, are you planning to come?"
"Old White, you're not even a bishop anymore, are you really good at recruiting people around like this?"
"What's the big deal, this guy knows a lot of light magic, and if we don't recruit him we'll be at the level of being wanted."
"...That's true, hey, it's really troublesome."
Blame me?
"Well you two, I didn't come here today to consider my employment. I'm here looking for Ya Bai, she hasn't been to school for half a month, right? I heard before that she had gone to the Abyss, and then I haven't heard anything other than news of her return, do you know where she's gone?"
"Speaking of which, didn't she go to the Abyss because of you?"
"Well...well that's true, but then I came back, didn't I? When my friend went to the Abyss to pick me up the other side had already released me, so it wasn't me that came back."
I wouldn't say that we experienced the Abyssal Demon War, or else we would all become permanent collectibles in the lab's herbarium.
"Well, we did hear reports about it from Yabai who came back from the Abyss, they went there and found that the war in the Abyss was over, so they came back with a little bit of information. But Yabai has now been sent out to crusade against a demon with the Eastern Continent's Chizuru Shrine, so I guess it'll be a few months before they return."
"Yeah..."
I can't believe there's a copy that I wasn't invited to. It would have been a day or two before we went.
I can't. This is harder to deal with than the guy in the abyss.
"Hey, that's a pain in the ass, I was hoping she'd help get her cousin out of the church."
"Um...cousin?"
George thought about it.
"Are you talking about Sally?"
"Yeah, you know her?"
"Well, compared to Yabai, this little guy is a pretty good one, I guess."
A grin broke out on George's face as he spoke.
"Isn't it, Taylor?"
He was speaking to the middle-aged man next to me who had just been talking to me.
"Awesome? I don't think that's the right word."
Taylor said with a grin.
"I should say scary, right?"
"Scary? I'm a new word I've discovered that illustrates awesome, what does it mean exactly?"
"She...has to live under the light of God, that's why she's been squatting in the church, right?"
"So what's the point of her coming to school?"
"Well...because that's her in her own mind and it's not really necessary."
I'm starting to get confused, what the hell?
"So what's going on?"
"That child... is incomparably pure, with five times the light magic elements of an average person. But there's a problem, the magic she uses... becomes associated with evil powers."
"Huh?"
"She can summon a special race."
"What's that?"
"Fallen Angel."
