20-First match

It was the day we played the seventh grade.
We are in the arena in the school.

Rifa, who was the first one to compete against us, was cringing on the fighting table.

 It's not surprising.

It's a very good idea to be able to have a good idea of what you're looking for.

 How did this happen?

Back in time, before the start of the match, we got tangled up with the other seventh graders, as promised.

''Why do the freshmen have a classroom on the first wall?''
You're probably connected to your parents, so surrender quietly before it hurts.
Isn't this guy pretty cute? I'll play with you and you don't have to surrender.
'That's right, I'll play with it. Huh-heehee.

 And so on.

I could see the magic power, so I checked the magic power of the seventh year students, but they all didn't have that much magic power.

The one with the least amount of magic power in our class is Luna, but the seventh year students only had about half of Luna's magic power even if all five of them were added together.

To be honest, I don't feel like losing.

We ignored the seventh graders and headed to the waiting room in the arena. To them, it might have looked like we had freaked out and run away. I could hear them laughing from behind me.

But no one was here to pay attention to that. It's because all of us had noticed that there wasn't a single opponent who looked stronger than that Tina's special stone statue - the one we had beaten to a pulp yesterday.

''It looks like there's plenty of room.''

''Yeah, I was worried because you said we were dealing with the most senior students, but after seeing that thing after dealing with Tina-sensei's stone statue, I can't find any reason why we can't win.

That's what Lyushin and Meldy are talking about.

''But let's not let our guard down. The other party is a seventh year student, and they might have special magic or something.

'Yes. Let's be on our guard, as Mr. Hurt says. I'll take one of them down first!

Yeah, Rifa. Good luck.

─ I miss the time I called out to Rifa like that.

The fight begins, and Rifa goes up to the fighting table.

"Lucky you, you're the first one. You are the first one. I'll take care of you.

The other seventh year student was looking at Rifa with a grin.

When the referee signaled, the fight began.

Rifa immediately created a bow with magic and held it at the ready, but her opponent didn't move an inch.

Go ahead and shoot. "Go ahead and shoot, and I'll show you the futility of it all.

He's licking his lips that he's an underclassman, and he's going to give the lead to Rifa. Normally, he had to gather magic power from the surroundings while avoiding the opponent's attacks, so it should have taken him some time.

However, the opponent really didn't do anything.
Rifa was fortunate that she was able to accumulate magic power into arrows.

''Huh? What, what's that magic power?

The magic power concentrated in a single point, so concentrated that even students other than me could see it, made the air around Rifa tremble.

The other side of Rifa's opponent also noticed it and began to panic.
In order to stop Rifa from activating her magic, she arrived at the fighting table with her hand and released the earth magic earth spear at Rifa.

─ ─ But it was too late.

''Wind Arrow!''

When Rifa released her fingers from the string of the magic bow, an arrow of wind was released at high speed.

''Fuguuguiha!

The wind arrows obliterated the earth magic that was coming towards Rifa and blew away the opposing student with the same momentum.

Rifa had changed the tip of the wind arrows to a shape that did not have a high penetrating power, but rather one that generated an impact the moment it hit and blew the target away, so as not to kill her opponent.

The wind arrows didn't disappear just because they blew away Rifa's opponents.

The translucent defensive magic wall - the translucent defensive magic wall around the fighting table to prevent magic from flying to the audience - was broken, and the remaining four opponents behind it were also blown away.

The five people who were blown away and slammed into the wall of the arena did not get up. Their limbs were twitching, so it seemed that they were not all dead.

''..........''

The inside of the arena was filled with silence.

Many students and teachers had come to observe as they were competing against the first year students who had gained a classroom on the first wall and the most senior students. Everyone who visited the arena was amazed at the power of the magic that destroyed the magic wall and blew five more people together.

I tried to accumulate a little more magic power, but Rifa herself was surprised that even the defensive magic wall had been penetrated, and she was cringing on the fighting table.

''When you all were fighting the stone statue, I (...) put up (...) defensive walls with all (...) power (...). I hope you don't think that the magic wall put up by those teachers can stop my students' magic.

 Tina says, somewhat proudly.

'Mimi, I can't admit it! And attacking outside the arena is a foul!

A teacher who looked to be in his fifties with light hair came up to Tina. He was the homeroom teacher of the other seventh grade class.

''There's a rule that magic attacks from outside the arena to the inside are foul, but not the other way around. First of all, we didn't expect our magic walls to be breached by personal magic.

The teacher who was refereeing came to stop the thin-haired teacher.

'Anyway, what do you want to do? If we're all out of combat, though, Tina's class will win.

The other students who had fallen were carried away on a stretcher. They might recover with healing magic after a while, but it would take some time.

''Well referees, those students who fell earlier were just over there cheering. They're not players!''

What? No, but.....

The referees check the roster of opponents.

Everyone who was just brought in was registered. In spite of that...

Edgar, come on!

A well-built student, called Edgar, came to the side of the sleepy, thin-haired teacher.

'What is it?' Didn't you say I wasn't going to be available?

Change of plans. Kick 'em in the teeth with everything you've got.

No, Edgar, you're not a player...
'My class is fine. Let's continue.

The referee tried to stop him, but Tina insisted on continuing.

'Huh, I don't know what you're wrong about, but you'll regret it.

With that said, the thin-haired teacher returned to his own camp with Edgar in tow.

''Rifa-san doesn't seem to be a good match for Edgar-kun, so can I ask you to abstain from the next game?

Yes, sir.

 Rifa honestly listened to Tina.
She felt a little remorseful that she had overdone it.

'Good job, Rifa-san. That was great magic.''
Oh, thank you!

Rifa was very happy to be praised by Tina, who was called a hero among their own race, and she was very happy.

''Then, next up is Liushin-kun. I'll take care of you, please.''
I love you! Can I do my best too?

'Of course. Please blow that teacher away with me.

Tina is more extreme than ever. Maybe she's annoyed with that thin-haired teacher.

Rusin goes up to the arena.
Edgar comes up to the arena lazily, too.

Behind Edgar, the four remaining members of the other class began to chant some kind of magic, and Edgar's body was enveloped in various auras.

They were using auxiliary magic from outside the fighting table to strengthen Edgar. If you looked closely at the flow of magic, the thin-haired teacher was also using auxiliary magic so that the people around him wouldn't find out.

''........Is that good?''

'You can't attack (...) fire from outside the fighting table, but you seem to be able to assist.

Hmm, but a teacher is indeed a bad idea.

'Very well, Master Hurt. That was indeed not to be overlooked.

Should we cancel the game?

'No, we'll do the same thing here. Luna.

Yes!

"I'd like to ask you to use your full strength to do some auxiliary magic, Ryushin-kun.

I understand!

Let's just say, in conclusion, we won.

 We've won an overwhelming victory.

Luna's auxiliary magic, Ryushin's arm is transformed into a dragon, and the fist pressure with all his magic power blows Edgar away and easily breaks through the reattached magic wall...

Furthermore, he blew up the four students and the thin-haired teacher behind Edgar in a grand manner.

Of course, as they were blown up, they didn't get up afterwards, but were taken to the infirmary.

Thus, our class won their first match and successfully defended their classroom.
