49-World tree tops

We've reached the sixth level of the World Tree Dungeon.

No demons are attacking us as they did up to the fifth level, and with Sylph's support, we haven't lost any rare items. Things are going well itself.

After exploring for a while, I arrived at the center of the sixth level.
There was a huge white stone monument there.

A sleek golem was standing there to protect the monument. It was an earthy golem, but it had green ore embedded in places.

It's an arc golem, a higher species of golem. This arc golem, ordinary adventurers couldn't stand up to it.

It's said that multiple A-ranked adventurer parties gather to form a group called a raid to fight and see if they can win.

Essentially, if you don't defeat this guy, you won't be able to get out on the World Tree, the home of the Sylphs.

 -Yes, the book is....

Good night! Thank you for everything.

The sylph calls out to the arc-golem.

The Arkgolem opened the front of the stone monument and saluted the sylph.

'Come on!'

Ah, we don't have to fight, after all.

We walked past the saluting arc-golem and moved to the side of the monument and put our hands on the monument as the sylphs urged us to do so.

'Have you guys touched the monument? Let's go then!

The stone monument began to glow.
I meditate on it because of the glare.

I feel a sensation of a body being pulled somewhere.

 A few seconds later.

That sensation subsides, and when I open my eyes, I see that I'm standing on top of a huge tree branch. Even thicker branches are growing above the one we're on, as if they were folded on top of each other.

The sun was gently shining through the branches, and it was brighter than the dungeon we were in earlier. We've moved here from the dungeon.

Transmigration is a skill unique to heroes from other worlds, but I heard that even dungeons managed by high ranking spirits such as sylphs can move like transmigration to connect specific locations.

 I look around.

It's incredibly stable that what I'm standing on now is a tree branch. I could see the tip of the branch in the distance. The tips of the branches are indeed thin, but they look like they can walk upwards with about a kilometer to spare. Once again I was surprised at the size of the world tree.

'Come on guys, this way.'

Sylph called me to walk towards the trunk of the World Tree. At the trunk, there was what looked like a wooden elevator.

It was a wooden box that could hold about ten people, with ivy attached to it. The vines seemed to be connected to the top of the world tree.

It's too cumbersome for me to know about the elevators in the original world.

What, are we going to ride this?

'I made it to give you a ride when someone comes over. I'll take you all up there with this one! You'll have a great view from the top, so look forward to it.

 Who will be here when?

So, I guess that means no one has ever ridden it yet, right?

 I'm a little nervous.

'Yes, I'm in, I'm in,'
What, wait a minute?

Sylph pushed me back and we were pushed into the elevator.

Well, seriously, is that all the way up?
Tina's flying magic would be better, wouldn't it?

For some reason, the sylphs didn't get into the box.
It doesn't seem to be necessary to use the elevator in the first place, though, since the sylphs are always flying.

''Well, here we go!

The sylphs formed a magic circle under the box we were in.

 Oh, could it be........
Is the ivy attached to the top of the wooden box a decoration?

I know that my prediction was correct in the worst way possible.

The wind blew out of the sylph's magic circle with great force, pushing the box we were on up at a ridiculous speed.

''Wow!''

The box climbed upward at high speed.
We couldn't withstand the acceleration and were pushed to the floor of the box.

Poof, the world around us lit up.

We stepped through the branches and out onto the World Tree.

 Phew, the acceleration was gone.

The box we were on had fallen apart as we passed through the last of the dense foliage.

The eleven of us were thrown into the air.

''It's ... beautiful.''

I couldn't help but let the words escape my mouth as I looked down at the city of Alheim and the surrounding landscape from further up the giant world tree.

Is this what Sylph wanted to show me?

 That's where the fall begins.

''Tina! Everyone!

I shouted to Tina, who was about to fly to me. Tina heard me and turned around.

 That's when I saw it.

The dragonified Ryushin was sprouting wings from his back and flying with Luca in his arms.

Mai and May had just turned into spirit bodies and retrieved Yoko and Rifa.

Luke used flight magic and was flying with Luna in his arms.

 What? Everyone can fly!

 Tina went to save Merdi.

 And I'm falling down.

 Why is that?
No one is coming to help me.

Maybe they think I can fly too?

 No, I can't fly!

Tina, who finally realizes this, comes flying over in a hurry.

But before Tina can save me, I'm wrapped in the wind and my fall has stopped.

"Sorry, I didn't use the right amount of force. Teehee.

There's a sylph flying beside me.

 Tehe, not!

'Oh no, but then again, everyone can fly.

Yeah, that's the first time I've ever heard of it.

On the other hand, Hurt can't fly, can he?

I was lightly dented when Sylph told me that.
No, isn't it normal to not be able to fly?

I decided to use this as an opportunity to learn to use flying magic.
