64-Class of wise man Luano

Five months have passed since I enrolled in Ifrus Magic Academy.

A year in this world is ten months, so it's exactly half a year that has passed.

Next month, the wedding reception of Tina and Rifa will be held, but before that, there was an event at the academy.

It's a special lecture by the wise man Luano-Ver-Iffles.

Every six months, the headmaster of the school will give a lecture to the class with the best grades in this school.

It's not every day that you get to learn directly from a wise man.

Even the teachers at the school would be jealous of this lecture, but this time, our class will be able to take part in it.

It seems that many people come to our school to study with the purpose of learning from a wise man.

By the way, the grades that determine which class of students are allowed to take the wise men's class are based on the number of victories in inter-class competitions, the results of each test, and the achievements made during the month's off-campus activities.

We continued to win competitions against upperclassmen and excelled on tests.

We also saved Alheimers, which seems to be the top grade for us without question.

So, the wise man Luano came to our usual classroom.

This class has done better than ever for half a year. I'm sure you've done a great job of saving Alheimers, especially in the extracurricular activities. His Majesty was very pleased.

Apparently, the Elf King wrote a letter to the King of Glendale thanking us for saving his country from us.

As a token of his friendship, he included a leaf from the World Tree.

The king was very pleased with that and instructed the headmaster to take care of us.

'His Majesty the King has instructed me to reward you all. Normally my lecture to the best class is only for one day, but I will extend it to a week. Is that all right with you?

 It's a wonderful reward.

A week of lectures from a genuine, real wise man.

As a student of magic, I couldn't think of a better reward.

I'm a sage, but after all, the reincarnation perk only makes me a sage by profession.

It's a good thing that I'm able to use magic that's reasonably strong because it's corrected for magic power detection and magic power manipulation, but it's doubtful that I'm able to use magic in the true sense of the word.

I thought there was still room for my magic to become stronger.

That's why I've always wanted to take a lecture from the Dean of Luano School, who was the true essence of magic and became a true sage.

''Grandpa, don't be stingy with me for a week or something, come and lecture me often.

Luke asks the headmaster for a favor.
Luke is the grandson of the wise man Luano.

 However, it's indeed impossible.

Because as the only sage in the country, Headmaster Luano is not only in charge of running the school, but also is sometimes called upon to defeat demons that cannot be defeated by ordinary soldiers or adventurers, mainly those classified as S-ranked demons.

It's a miracle that the head of the school, who is so busy, can even give a lecture for a week...

I can't help it if my grandson asks me to. I'll visit you at least once a week from now on.

 Sweet!
 Sweet, sweet, sweet Headmaster!

You are too soft on your grandchildren.

 Is that okay with you?

No, of course I'm happy to oblige.

In return, you'll help me take out the demons, is that all right?

The dean of the school has offered me a deal.

If it's only to help you defeat a demon, and you can attend the wise man's class, I'll be happy to do so...

 Hmm? Wait..........

A demon that the sage Luano is called to defeat?

I mean, that has to be an S-ranked demon!

Hey, Grandpa.

 Hey!
Don't take it easy on yourself!

"Luke, wait! How could the Headmaster be called in? You need to be more careful.

But on the contrary, they are the demons you need to defeat, right? Well, then, with Dr. Tina and Halt, we can't lose.

 What are you talking about?

Hmm, I see. I'm still the best in the world when it comes to magic. But when it comes to simple combat skills, Hurt and Tina are better. When it comes to the power of a single shot of magic, Luke is probably better than me.

Luke was a little happy to hear his grandfather's affirmation.

'It sounds like defeating demons would be a great experience. I think I can accept that suggestion.''

Tina seems to agree with the headmaster's suggestion.

Defeating an S-ranked demon is a good experience...

Best of all, it will be a great learning experience for all of you to be able to attend lectures by the wise man Luano on a regular basis.

Yeah, I'm sure it is.

To be honest, I'm getting a bit old myself. The task of defeating high-ranking demons is becoming a bit difficult. So I'd like to leave it to you guys from now on.

...Grandpa.

"You shall have my all. From now on, you will be the keepers of peace in this world.

What in the world?

It's a big deal, all of a sudden.

 What does that mean?

''In fact, in this class we have gathered together those who should be an asset to protect the peace of the world in the future. The elves, beastmen, dragon-men, demons, spirits, and humans. We have arranged for those who have prospects in their respective races to be enrolled at the same time.

The headmaster speaks to each of them as he looks at them individually.

 I see.

So there are many different races gathered in this class?

By the way, this magic academy has no age limit for admission except for the human race.

Probably, the timing of the entrance of the other fellow students was adjusted when the prospective human race - the wise man's grandson Luke - entered the school.

This plan was also accelerated when the heroic Tina Halibel came to me with the intention of becoming a teacher. Originally, I had thought that I would not begin training you guys until after the fifth grade.

The headmaster chokes on his words a bit.

''I didn't expect you to be the best class in the school in the first year.......you guys are a bit of an anomaly, aren't you?

Yeah, I had an inkling of that too.

'But if the qualities that need to be trained are already in place, then it's best to train them quickly. I said earlier that it was at Luke's request, but the truth is that I had already decided that I would train you regularly.

So that's what happened.

Tina didn't seem to know either.

''Of course, I'd like to leave it to Tina to be the homeroom teacher for this class in the future. But I believe that once you know the essence of magic, your magic will be another level stronger. I want you to learn that in my lecture.

""Yes!"

This is how we ended up taking a lecture from the wise man Luano in order to gain the power to protect the world.
