133-Episode 7: The Assassin Holds a Party

The carriage arrives at the front of the mansion and receives a package and a letter.
 Most of the groceries.
I plan to have a big engagement party tomorrow, and I've stocked up on good stuff without spending a dime.
While receiving the package, I'll also send out a letter from us.
The letter is addressed to the Count of Flandrud. You've dressed up as a woman and impersonated someone else named Lou to seduce him in order to get him to cooperate with your trial.
 It's a gimmick. It's a major assassin's trick.

It's easiest to assassinate Count Flantrude when he's no longer useful. However, I'm determined not to kill him for nothing, and since he was so dedicated, I chose to settle the matter peacefully and tried to make it go away peacefully with a lot of time and effort.
He wakes up the distance, causes a lot of misunderstandings in the exchange of letters, causes the love to cool down, and causes their relationship to spontaneously disappear.
People's emotions are very easy to manipulate.
The realization that you don't fit in, rather than an outright rejection, is a much easier cause for love to cool down.

''So what's the point...''

I look at the letter and am disappointed.
We have exchanged a few letters, but the passion in Count Flantrude's letter has not diminished.
I had taken that guy lightly.

He was even dumber than I thought he would be.
Because he blindly sees only the ideal Lou, he doesn't even notice the differences that are happening in the exchange of letters. He's not looking at Lou, he's looking at an ideal woman who is only in his own head.

'This isn't good,'

I might need a rough treatment. I didn't want to be in Lou's form again, but I couldn't say that.
Worst-case scenario, he might even barge in on the young lady whose name and identity I had borrowed. If that happens, all sorts of lies will be discovered and it will be a problem.
I'd rather go back to Lou again and show the idiot what's really going on than let that happen.

'What the hell is this baggage?'

As I was going through the packages that were delivered, I found a package that was unusually addressed to Tart and Dia. The sender was Maha.
It was wrapped and quite large. Judging by the weight, are they clothes?
As I was debating whether to open the door inside, I heard footsteps and turned toward them.
Tart comes running in, out of breath.
Then he snatches the package from me and hugs it to his chest.

''Have you ... looked inside?''
No, I didn't see it.
Thank goodness. Just in time.

Tart is still in his training clothes.
He must have been in a hurry to get here when he noticed the arrival of the carriage.

I don't ask what it is, though I'm curious.
I wouldn't be so rough with him if he would just listen and tell me.

"How's the training going with my dad?

Intentionally wield another topic. It's the safest thing to do.

''It's very instructive. It's similar to Rouge-sama's assassination technique, but it's a bit different and interesting. I was also taught a new technique!

I'm the one who's educating the tart, but unusually, my dad has offered to train him.
I guess he has his own ideas.
Maybe it's the Touahade way of training a bride.

'I see. You can teach me that trick later on.
I'll take care of it! And is that party food behind it? Wow. Bigger shrimp for a fish I've never seen before, and I can't believe they're both alive.
We thought we'd make the party all kinds of fun.
I can't help you, can I?
This time I'm going it alone. I've got a surprise for everyone.

Playing a little prank.
It's something I've never dared to do before.

'I'll look forward to it,'
You're going to back down so easily, aren't you?
'This time it's us too, Sapura....gosh, gosh, gosh. Um, um, I'm going to go back to finish my break now.

The tart goes back with the same vigor as it came.
 With the baggage.
No matter how long it takes, the fidgety part will never be fixed.

I went back to my room and read the letter that arrived with the package, addressed to me.
 There were four letters.

The first was a report from Maha. It briefly summarized Orna's business situation and the progress of her business plan.
Due to the increase in the number of demons, distribution has been slowed down, and while many business associations are losing money, Orna is firmly in the black.
What contributed to this surplus is the new products prepared for the military.
It seems to be extremely popular in the field, and it is likely to be a large and long-term business transaction. If that happens, Orna will be safe.

The second was the letter from the Knight Academy.
It seems that the renovations have finally been completed and the school will reopen the week after next.
That in itself is a great thing, but there's one thing that's depressing.
It seems that they are holding a ceremony at the school to honor the achievements of this time's defeat of the Earth Dragon Demon Race.
I can understand why. The school was destroyed by the demon tribe, and the school has been perceived as dangerous.
That image needs to be wiped away. That's why we're going to hold a grand party to defeat the demon tribe in the academy and at the same time instill the impression inside and outside that they can feel safe with me there.

The only thing that matters is that you have to put up with it. I don't hate the academy itself.

You can see Dia and Tart in their uniforms.
 That's a good one.
 And the third letter is.....

'Nevan, that was quicker than I expected.

The sender of the letter is Nevan Romalung. The daughter of four great dukes and a woman who wants me.
The other day, I asked my father to make it known that I am engaged to Dia and the others.
When a nobleman decides to get engaged, he must notify the official in charge of his region of the engagement on a form that has to be filled out. Then the official in charge of the engagement will inform the center and the lower noblemen he is coordinating.
It is the duty of the noblemen to report to them, otherwise the betrothal will not be considered official.

The face of the region is the Earl of Ailalush Frontier, and further up the line is the Dukes of Romalung.
It was only a matter of time before Nevan would hear about it.
Nevertheless, he had no intention of interfering with the engagement.
Rather, it was written that he was relieved to see that they were positive about the marriage, and that he was relieved to find out that they weren't homos*xuals, and congratulated them.
Finally, it's scary when it says three and four together, but for the time being it's okay.
 And then the fourth letter.

''Well they say that, don't they?''

It's a letter from the Earl of Ilarush Frontier, the face of the city.
To put it simply, he wants us to gather all the nobles and hold an engagement party. It says it's advice, but it's almost like an order.
There was also a letter addressed to my dad, which would have said the same thing.

The only rule for getting engaged is to report to the face of the house. That's how the betrothal is consummated.
However, given the common sense of being a nobleman, if the heir gets married, as he says, he gathers a party with all the noblemen he is familiar with.
I write a letter of reply.
I'm going to write a letter of reply, stating a firm refusal.
 I also understand common sense.
But I don't want to throw a party for a bunch of noblemen that I don't know very well.
It's not just a matter of time before you get to the point where you'll be able to get your hands on a new one.

First, I can also see the spirit of the Earl of Ailalush Frontier.
If I hold an engagement party right now, I want to connect faces there, because all the powerful nobles will gather there.
Or, I want to complain and make fun of them like a heavyweight corner of a box, and mock them, and mock them for being conspicuous even though they are lowly aristocrats, I want to mock Touahade for being a lowly aristocrat.
I can't keep up with such things.
The race for advancement and power in aristocratic society can be done by those who like to do what they want.
I'll finish the letter and tell the servants to put it up.

'There we are. Let's go and prepare the food.

I have to pick up Maha tomorrow.
Let's finish all the preparations we can do today.

The next day, I used the plane to pick up Maha.
When we landed and dropped Maha off, she was blue-faced and Maha was on her knees.
She seems to be holding her mouth down and trying to hold back the nausea.

'Are you okay?'
'Well it's pretty tight, but not a problem. I heard about it from my brother Roug, but it's more than I expected. Once the plane is in mass production it will revolutionize the logistics industry.
Mass production is going to be difficult. The amount of magic required is too much.
That's a problem. But I can't help but think that if I had one for my personal use. If I had a little more magic power, I could control it, but it seems very impossible.

I can understand Maha's desire for a plane. With a plane, a journey that would take days to complete would only take a few hours. That way, there is more room in your schedule.
Time is more precious than anything else for a busy businessman.
For a busy businessman, time is more precious than anything else, especially for Maha, who travels the world doing business all year round.

'Let's think about it for a minute. "Let's think about it for a minute," he said, "if we put a foul stone on it and make it rechargeable, we could make an airplane that could run at Maha. This kind of leg is necessary for the Maha, which travels all year round, so let's make one.

Just attaching a foul stone would be enough to secure the magic power, but it would not be possible to control it.
We'll have to develop a magic tool to control it.
It's going to be a bit of a pain in the ass.
Still, I'll do that for Maha.

"Glad to hear it. I'm looking forward to it.

Maha smiles.
Just seeing this smile was worth the promise.

Then, by the time the party is held, the food is finished and taken to the party room where it will be held.
We rarely use it, but we do have such a room in Touahade.

And then comes the three people who will be my fiancé.

Beautiful.

For a moment, I fell in love with the sight of them.
All three of them were wearing dresses that I had never seen before.
I see, it was a dress that Maha had given to Dia and Tart.

''Hmph, Rouges always give us surprises all the time, so this time it came from us.
Do I look good?
ROUGE is a lucky man. You are so lucky to be engaged to three beautiful girls.

I smile.
 It's true.
The three of you are all three beautiful.
I'm sure Maha saw to that, and all three of them are wearing dresses that bring out their individual charms.
I'm sure you'll be able to see the current three of them wearing the rings I made, even if only for a second.

''Well this one was taken. Now, all three of you go to the center. Let's get this party started. It's our engagement party.

My beautiful fiancées, my sweet parents, and all the treats.
Today is surely going to be a great day.
The wine is open and the toast is ready.
 Now let the party begin.
