82-Sandworm

After a reasonable amount of time on the carpet from King's Landing, we arrived at the Angoli Ruins.

"Is this the ruins of Angoli?

It's a more solid building than I imagined.

The desert area was divided from the former plains as tightly as a boundary line.
There was a pyramid-like building stacked with stones of considerable size.
The apex was not triangular, but rather a square box with a hole that seemed to be an entrance.
Does that mean we're supposed to enter from there?

There are a number of buildings with roofs supported by round columns around it, and it doesn't feel like a place that could be said to have been built by people.
Wasn't this built by a man? It looks like a really common ruin........

''Well, let's call Sisha and the others first, shall we?

I hope nothing has happened, sir.

I immediately took out a beacon and set it up in front of me to call Sisha and the others here.
Since this place is a short distance from the capital, I've set one up along the road as a relay, so there shouldn't be any problems.
But we can't call them out on the spur of the moment, so we'll have to contact them with a walkie-talkie first.

''Yes, this is Sisha.''

'Oh, it's me, me. You haven't done anything to Luna?

'I'm not going to be in trouble every single time, either! Totally ... so what can I do for you?

'I'm going to do a request for promotion to B rank now, and I want Sisha and Luna to come too. I can call them right away with the beacon.

I called Sisha's walkie-talkie on my phone and she immediately complied.
'Thank goodness.........................I was wondering what I'd do if I messed with Luna and was down.

''It's okay because I've settled things down on my end. But Luna-san is still resting, so I'll wake her up now. It will take some time, so I'll contact you when I'm ready.''

All right. Don't be in such a hurry, okay?

Even though it's going to take a bit of time, it won't be that long.
I feel a little bad about the suddenness of the conversation, but it's for the sake of the mess, it can't be helped.

'Is everything okay, Sisha?'

'Yeah, it's like he was just doing his normal chores.

I wonder if he's learned his lesson after being bitten so many times.

After I ended the call, Noll and Esther approached me with an uneasy atmosphere.
It's natural to feel uneasy if you're seeing the usual state of affairs. But this time it looks like they were just doing their normal housework.
Can we review it a bit? That way, I'll be able to have Luna stay home with me from now on.

 Then roughly 30 minutes.

'It's so hot it's late, isn't it?

Ugh....it's been quite a while already...

'It's a long time to be just a change of clothes...'

Shall we move to the plains?

Since there was no way to enter the ruins, we were waiting in a position where we wouldn't be attacked by the surrounding monsters.
It was strangely hot because of the desert area, and the three of us drank water from our water bottles while waiting for word.
We thought he would come soon, but we didn't hear from him at all. What are you doing?

It was too late, so when I suggested we run off to the plains until I heard from him, my phone vibrated.
It was like I finally got a call.

'Whoa, you finally got it,'

'....Heihachi. I'm sorry, I'm late.

Oh, Luna. What's going on with Sisha?

The notification on my phone said it was from Sisha's walkie-talkie, but it was Luna who answered.
 Why Luna?

'....I've done it. We're ready to go for now, so get us moving.

After a little bit of stumbling over the words, Luna just muttered that she'd done it.
She has an oddly apologetic vibe even though it's just her voice.
What do you mean you've done it? What happened to Sisha?

I'm curious, but it looks like they're ready to go and it would be faster to call them.
I quickly brought up the beacon control screen from my phone and moved Luna and Sisha to our place with a party move.

'Ah, ah........oh, Okura-san.......'

We relayed multiple beacons to move Sisha and the others to us.
Then, in front of us, Luna appears with Sisha on her shoulder.
What........what is this? You were normal until you called me, so what happened to you?

How did this happen...

Just barely keeping your eyes open, isn't it?

Did you have to do something extra to wake me up again?

When I lay Sisha down on the rug, her face is pale and her whole body is convulsing. This is a common symptom after being bitten by Luna.
She seems to be sweeter than usual because she can talk somewhat without the whites of her eyes, but she doesn't seem to be able to move on her own.

'No, Sisha woke me up normally. But I bit him.

Why did you do that?

I get into the habit of biting Sisha.

Estelle asks Luna why, and apparently Sisha woke her up normally.
And yet she says that she bit Sisha.
And when I asked her why, she replied in shock that it was a habit.

Me and Nolu and the rest of the team are in a state of shock at her answer, and we look at each other.
I'm not sure if Luna thinks it's a bad idea or not, but she looks apologetic with her face down.
It's a good idea to have a good idea of what to do with it.

"Sisha, are you okay?

Yes, yes....

Sisha, I'm really sorry.

I took out the elixir from my phone and put it in Sisha's mouth.
In no time at all, her complexion improved and she returned to her normal state.
Luna immediately bows her head to the cured Cis-Ha and apologizes.

Hmm, you hate it, but you do apologize immediately for what you think is wrong with you, don't you?
As for me, I'm usually meddled in, so I don't blame Luna for being a habit.
Still, I'd like to learn a bit from your attitude of apologizing without making excuses.

''It's okay already! I'd rather have you bite me more... ugh.

Ugh, ugh....

Sisha looked terribly happy as she squeezed Luna, who lowered her head and stroked her head.
As she was hugged, she sank one cheek into Sisha's chest while she screamed and zipped in pain.
She can't be angry, so she's desperately enduring it.......
As a man, I feel a little bit jealous of being held by Sisha.

''Luna. The sun is out, are you okay?

Ugh, I have no problem with that. I just need you to pull this thing off.

The sun is still out, so I asked Luna how she was feeling for once, and it seems that she's not in trouble.
More than that, it seems that being held by Sisha right now is more painful, so I managed to pull Sisha away from Luna.

''Ah ... so what kind of request is it this time?''

This time we're asking you to look at the Angoli site.

Sisha looked a little disappointed as she was pulled away, but she still seemed to have had enough and didn't really complain.
I finally seemed to be able to talk properly, so I pointed in the direction of the building and told Sisha and Luna the purpose of this time.

'Ho, a mess. I haven't experienced it yet, so I'm curious.'

It's getting kind of exciting to explore the ruins, isn't it?

Luna is interested in the step-up gacha, and Sisha seems to be more interested in the ruins.
For me, exploring these places is a bit more adventurous and fun, but I can't spend so much time on it.

I want to take my time to explore, but this time I've reached the mess at the same time. That's why I want to hurry up the capture of these ruins as much as possible.

If C-rank was originally the right place, I feel like I'm overpowered.

With Luna around, it won't be long before it's over.

And since this is originally a B-rank request, I feel a little bad about asking for help from non-adventurer Luna.
However, I can't say that I'm going to do it so nicely, so this time, I'll ask for Luna's help and try to capture these ruins.
By the way, Cis-Ha is still F-ranked, so she won't be able to get B-ranked even if she completes this request.
However, Widge said that if she successfully accomplishes this request this time, when she becomes C-ranked, there will be no problem because she will take it into consideration in her own way.

''First, you want to check the demons around the ruins?''

There are lizard-like creatures and birds, aren't there?

Where do you think we'll find this sandworm?

In order to start exploring, we started walking towards the first pyramid-like building that stands out from the rest.
Looking around, we only see an ochre-colored quadrupedal lizard about a meter in size and a giant eagle perched on a rock.

Those are C-ranked demons, so they're not the target of this investigation.
Our target is a B-ranked demon, a sand worm. But even at a glance, I don't feel it's there....

As we were walking around thinking about this, the sand beneath our feet suddenly began to shake, and the sand at a little distance was rising more and more towards us.

It's coming from below! Watch out!

The sand that was coming closer and closer came up all at once, and the demon that was in the sand revealed itself.
Its huge worm-like body was covered in ochre skin, and its torso was covered with a number of long, thin legs.
Its round, open mouth was filled with numerous fangs, and it wouldn't be able to stand a chance if it was swallowed and skewered.
It's smaller than a behemoth, but it's not too big to swallow a man.

  It's very powerful.
But we've already hunted many B-ranked ones. We should be able to take them down with ease at this level.

I have seen the Sandworm open its large mouth to threaten us, and I have prepared a crowbar and entered a fighting stance.
If we're careless and get swallowed up, we'll be in for a rude awakening, so let's brace ourselves. That's what I thought.

But right after that, an oversized rock flew into the worm's gaping mouth from behind me, forcing me into it.
The worm writhed agonizingly, trying to spit out the rock in its mouth, but before it could do so, the rock exploded and blew its head into pieces.
The headless body jerked spasmodically for a moment, and then the worm disappeared, leaving behind large fangs that turned into particles of light.

'Opening your mouth to threaten me is like a signal for me to attack you.

Mmm, didn't have time to attack.

That doesn't mean you can't strike a blow...

I looked at Estelle and before I knew it, she had taken out her Grimoire and held her wand at the ready. It's only Estelle who can do this.
It looks like Luna was also holding her spear at the ready, but she looks a little dissatisfied when she was defeated before she could do so.

You beat it without even having time to check its status.......I thought it was the strongest looking demon I've seen in a long time, but it's stunned.......

''For now, let's deal with the sandworms around the ruins and then go in.

But it sounds like a hassle waiting for it to come out.

Let me worry about that. Okay.

It's still some distance to the pyramid-like building.
In the meantime, there should be a number of worms coming out of the building. It is certainly a bit of a hassle to stop every time they do.

I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I'm going to be able to help," he muttered to himself.
Then the ground begins to shake and the sand is undulating like a wave.

''See, it came out all at once. Huh, brother, what do you think?

Oh, well you've done well.

As soon as the ground shook, one after another sand worms flew out from everywhere, lying and convulsing like fish that had been washed ashore.
Esther-san is a real pain in the ass........

Estelle, who created this scene, approached me with a smile, as if to say praise and praise, facing me.
Even though it's something different from what I was expecting, I praise her and we head for the pyramid-like thing while we deal with the worm that was launched.
