87-Episode 87: Alice in wonderland 1: Encounter of fate

Mom! Good morning!
Good morning, Alice. We're having bread for breakfast.
Yay!

Although I was born in the Kingdom, I lived with my mother in a small house downtown. We were very poor, though I didn't care much for it at the time. It was no surprise that we had no money, and there were few days when we could eat three meals a day. Even so, my mother fed me.

Hey mom. Why don't I have a dad?
Well my dad is. He's gone away.
Are you coming back...?
If Alice is a good girl, maybe she'll come back.
Then I'll be good!
Yes. Good for you, Alice.
Yeah!

My mother was kind. She was kinder and more beautiful than anyone else.

I was content to live with my mother. It's true that we didn't have any money and we had a hard time at times. There were times when the electricity was off, and there were times when we had no water, and so on. Still, we worked together to make ends meet. My mother had a lot of wisdom.

How to make a candle last, or how to filter dirty water with alchemy.

Yes, my mother could use alchemy, if only for a little while. As I knew, even as a young child, alchemical abilities are essentially genetic. But my mother could use alchemy even though she wasn't from a family of alchemists. And it was the same for me. But I was more skilled in alchemy than she was.

The question I wondered at the time. Maybe my father was a person with a higher aptitude for alchemy.

And so my mother and I lived our days in peace and serenity.

'Mom! What's the matter with you!
Alice this isn't anything.........
But there's so much blood! So much!
Uh.....
Mom!

My mother was frail. I knew that, but I didn't expect it to go this far. So my mother went to see a doctor in town - but by this time it was already too late. A few days later, she died.

'Mum... why... why... why...?'

I was wearing mourning clothes to a funeral. I didn't know much about relatives at the time, but there was a man who was kind to me. I didn't know much about him at the time. But I later found out that the man was the king of this kingdom and ... my blood father.

'Alice, this is your home from today.
But this is a royal castle.
Yes. Alice is going to be royalty.
'Royalty? What is royalty?
You'll figure it out.
....

My father, the king, was kind. He didn't know his mother was pregnant in the first place, apparently.

 An overnight mistake.

With that, my mother, who was working in the royal castle, left herself. Later, when she found out she was pregnant with me, she raised me by herself.

And so, almost as soon as my mother died, the current king learned of my existence. Of course, what he recognized immediately was good...............................but life from that point on was not a happy one.

''........Haha.

Sigh. Nearly ten years have passed since then. I had learned the manners, etiquette, and behavior of royalty. I had to do it to survive.

But I was shunned by the rest of the royal family. That's because my mother was from a commoner's background. Not from a noble family, just a commoner.

And my aptitude for alchemy and this good looks also made me an object of envy.

If I may say so myself, I am the most beautiful woman in the media, the most beautiful woman in the royal family.

Too beautiful to be true, Alice Canovaglia, the third princess.

Ever since I was featured in the media, my popularity has been through the roof. I've become the most recognizable person in the kingdom...and I've become that much more so.

But I didn't really want to be popular.

I just wanted to live ... with my mother, in a small house, even if I couldn't live satisfactorily, I just wanted to live purely ... happily.

My life now is certainly full on the surface. Food, clothing and shelter, there is nothing to worry about.

But my heart is always empty. I had no friends, no one I could trust, and I was just spending my days in a daze.

Then one day, I met a person.

I met the greatest genius alchemist in the history of this kingdom since it began.

''Hm? What's wrong with you?
'I was a bit tired...' You don't know me, do you?
I don't know.
'Yes it's Alice Canovaria, isn't it? The Third Princess'
I don't know. I'm a farmer. I don't know anything about royalty.
Really?
Yeah.

I was attending an aristocratic party. At that time, I believe, I was already about to turn fourteen. I was in my second s*xual phase, and my beauty was even more refined. I'm happy with my appearance, but I get fed up with being blatantly courted at these parties.

So I escaped to the garden outside. This place was like a maze, wide as a maze, and it was always just the right place to escape.

On a night lit by such beautiful moonlight, I met

'The greatest alchemist of all time, Elweed Willis,' he said.

'What? Is your name Elweed Willis?
Yeah?
Is that from that alchemist genius?
No, I'm a genius farmer.
''...I see. So he's just as they say he is.

Elweed Willis. The name has spread to royalty, and even among the nobility. He was the first person in history to record perfect scores on all tests at the venerable Canovarian Alchemy School.

Furthermore, he is the youngest ever platinum-class "platinum" alchemist.

A genius who is said to eventually become a Blue Star class alchemist. No, I'm sure it's no exaggeration to call him the greatest genius alchemist in history.

I had heard that he was coming to this party, but I never imagined that he would be such a person in my wildest dreams. I didn't believe the rumor that he was from a farming family because I didn't believe it. I thought that someone must be saying something random anyway, but the man himself emphasized more than being an alchemist that he was a farmer.

'Err! Where are you? I know you're around here, you know!
"Gee, that Fee guy is a little early, isn't he? Now I'm still on the run. What about you?
I'm....

I'm confused. What to do? That being said, I have to go back to that place anyway. But can I also........live my life the way he did?

That thought had me reaching out to him.

'Can you let me go too?'
I'm on it. I know how to throw a fee. No, I don't want anyone to get me.
...aha!

When I said that, Elle took me in her princess hug and flew into the sky, activating her alchemy without an alchemy formation as it was.

Close. That moon felt so close now.

And so we moved from roof to roof as we ran away from the royal castle.

'El-u-u-u-u-u-u! I don't want to run away, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!

And that's what it sounded like, but we were already in the air. No, not strictly speaking, but that's how I felt.

I felt like a real princess in a fairy tale...or so I thought.

'Huh? Isn't it easy?
Yeah. It's amazing, you're amazing. As expected of a genius alchemist since the beginning of the kingdom...
'Huh ... are you still mistaken? I'm a genius farmer since the beginning of the kingdom. Don't make a mistake there, okay?
Hmmm... yeah.

It was only a few minutes before we met. Yet I was talking to him as if we had been friends for several years.

I don't remember when I felt so refreshed, but that must have been.... It was probably the last time I lived with my mother.

I've been closed in, and I've decided that this world is boring.

But the world is so beautiful.

This magnificent world he was showing me looked so colorful. It's as if the world, which used to be gray, is turning into vibrant colors.

'Well,' he said. Let's fly a little higher. I'm sure Fee will be following us. Hold on tight, okay?
...yes!

And so we fly. In the midst of this wide world, illuminated by the beautiful moonlight.

 This is the meeting.

Alice Canovalia and Elwydd Willis' first ... fateful meeting.

And I had a hunch at this moment.

That I might be ..........in love with him.
