79-Episode 72: Hot to Frozen, Cold to Burning

You're bored in the daytime. I'm tired of moving.

Inside the safe house the Blood Clan had prepared, Sink muttered with a yawn.

'That's why you called out to the adventurers and got them to move.

Glenn responded in a gentle voice, squinting his red twin eyes in the dimness.

It's not a good fit for us because they move in the daytime. If we knew where they were, we could launch a night attack.
Either way, I don't care. If possible, I'd like to see a few more people caught in the process.

The Bishop's Glenn and the Knight's Sink don't move much while the sun is up.

Their blood race is known to the public as vampires. The common image of vampires is that they are vulnerable to the sun and active at night, but that has no bearing on the size of the blood race. However, there were a good number of individuals who did not like to move in the daytime because of the high wear and tear on their factors during the day.
Glenn and Sink are a prime example of this, and they basically spend the daytime wrapped up in bed and lazy. Their undressed clothes are scattered on the floor, and their presence is only confirmed by the crimson afterglow that snatches the darkness, their breathing, and the feel of their skin as they touch each other.

'Hey, I wonder if those adventurers can be trusted.

Sinc asks in a sweet voice, hanging over Glenn's body.

'I don't like it. That kind of race. They kind of betray you with impunity.
I don't expect much from them to begin with. Well, if you're a little devil or a corpse, they won't be able to hold you back when the time comes.
'So we'll have to leave after all. I can't wait.
Would you like me to move the King of the Dead?
That's not what Akeno made. I don't want to rely on that.
Goodness. As usual, you're very selfish.

Glenn chuckled in the darkness, feeling Sink's weight and the sure scent of silver hair touching the tip of his nose.

Sink didn't like the pairing of Akeno and Suou. Glenn didn't like them that much either, though. That's why he's not very positive about mobilizing a replica of the "King of Death" that Akeno made by studying the king's pieces to the battlefield.
However, the Reaper King is undoubtedly the best fighting force that the bloodline can mass produce. Reportedly, many targets have not even awakened to Phase 2, and as a restraint against it, the King of the Dead Spirit is more than enough of a fighting force. In addition, the research on the king pieces has been advanced, and the specs of the dead spirit kings themselves that are produced are said to have been generally raised to the bottom.

Glenn quietly instructed the little devils to avoid being noticed by Sink. I'll have the King of the Dead accompany him on his search along the coast. The adventurers also continue to explore that area, so if you're unlucky enough to encounter them, they may take you down, but well, it doesn't hurt to lose one or two of them.

It was quite a bonehead to keep the boredom of an egotistical princess at bay.

Once I screamed, it was refreshing.

Staring at the small demons and corpses that were boiling up in swarms, Kyousuke readjusted his demon sword. If he and Yukinoshita worked together, would there have been enough of them to kick around? Is her freezing ray really minus 1.2 trillion degrees? I failed to ask.
But Kyousuke couldn't bring himself to join forces with her to sweep up the enemy in front of him. The power of the 《Characteristic Amplification》 that Kyousuke possessed could strengthen Yukinoshita's freezing ray, but he just couldn't bring himself to do so.

It would be stupid to abandon an effective tactic just because he was a little miffed.

When you put magic power into a demonic sword, the sword's body is filled with energy. Although it is a weapon that was acquired by the shelf, this guy can help me a lot. To be honest, I'm like an amateur when it comes to handling swords, but I knew that even if I just wielded it appropriately, it would be quite powerful.

''(It's been more than three months since I came to this world, and come to think of it, I'm in the middle of a battle...)''

Although he had learned to fight with empty hands, he should have been instructed by someone at least once. Well, that's something to think about now, isn't it?

Even if you leave it alone, no miracle will happen. But I'm not in the nature to wait for a miracle either. It's a good idea to be able to have a good idea of what to expect when you go to the beach. It's a good idea to be able to have a good idea of what you're looking for.
The connection should have been successful, but the left arm is buzzing softly, as if it had become a different creature. The left hand supporting the hilt was clattering and trembling, which was hindering the stance.

''Ugh........''

Just in time, he heard a moaning voice behind him. Kyousuke turned around with a huff.

'Hakuba, you're awake!
Urogynous...?

The unicorn's white horn staggered slightly, but got up its large body and stood up on its four legs. Although it was wobbling, its footsteps were surprisingly firm. In the meantime, the corpses were gradually approaching.

''The other........they........Inugami.......?''
You're the only one I could find. Can you move, white horse?
Sort of.

Hakuba stood up and shook his head in a bobbing motion. Kyousuke avoids it for a moment, as his horn swings around dangerously.

Hakuba can move, there's no need to force the fight here.
The trembling in Kyousuke's left arm has stopped. While holding the sword with his right hand, he touches the white horse with his left hand. At that moment, Hakuba's entire body is enveloped in a pale light and the wound is closed. By circulating the life force with the life magic that Hakuba handles and amplifying it with Kyousuke's power, the circulation of vitality turns positive, albeit slightly.

'It's easier. Thank you, Utsurogi.
All right, all right. Then we won't be here long. Let's get out of here.

After all those heroic roars, he's already running away. It's only natural. Even Kyousuke's life is spared.
It is not a miracle. I have no intention of betting on such a thing.

''........Hey, Hakuba.

Kyousuke suddenly asked as he straddled the white horse's saddle.

'What?'
"Do you think you can make the desert snow?

This question reminds me of the way snowflakes were phrased earlier. I think I've read a novel like that somewhere before. Is it possible to make snow fall in the desert?
If snowflakes in hot-blooded mode say they can, then she thinks they can't. Miracles don't and can't happen. Those were her words, which were typical of a pessimist. And looking back on it now, it was heavy for Kyousuke as well.

''What are you talking nonsense at a time like this?''

 Hakuba responded, somewhat confused.

'Yeah, right. Sorry.'
"Snow will fall in the desert.
What?
'It was on the news a few years ago that it had snowed in Egypt. Well, it hadn't happened in decades, apparently.

Shirouma's casual trivia makes Kyousuke pout.
Oh, it's going to fall. What a dumb impression even came out.

''Don't dawdle! I'm going to bite my tongue!
'Whoa! I don't have a tongue, though!

The white horse's hooves kicked up the sandy beach in a gallant manner. In no time at all, they reached a speed so fast that the sluggish movements of the corpses could never catch up with them. A few of the fastest moving of the small demons break out of formation and chase after them, but Kyousuke cuts off one of them first while straddling the white horse.
The remaining individuals slowed down and unleashed their attack magic. With an eye on the small fireball, Kyousuke swings his magic sword further. The sword's blade, wrapped in energy, struck back the magic and landed on the beach, scattering a small explosion.

Does snow fall in the desert, or does it fall in the desert? Kyousuke was ruminating on Hakuba's words earlier.

Then, would a miracle really happen?
At this moment, at this timing, Hakuba woke up. This was too tiny a coincidence to call it a miracle, but thanks to it, Kyousuke would be able to get out of the predicament without fighting those guys.
Even if a miracle doesn't happen, such a small coincidence can have the same effect as a miracle.

Snow falls in the desert. Kyousuke grasped the hilt of his sword again, turning it into a conviction.

If he had joined forces with Soraki Kyousuke like that, would he have been able to defeat them? Probably not. Yukinoshita Ryouka laughed to herself. I'm sure my arms trembled and my legs faltered. I can't fight them now.
It was at the exact moment when I saw those rushing wights and little demons that I realized the filter was broken. They were not supposed to be opponents that were impossible to fight, but fear was the first thing that came to mind. If my heart was broken, I would be screwed. He would have to let Kyousuke protect and fight both himself and Hakuba.

Knowing it was useless, he suggested that they should run away.
If I had told him that I was running out of filters there, would Kyousuke have run away with me honestly? That's also a no. He was probably going to stay there and try to fight while protecting the two of them.
In any case, Kyousuke alone would not be able to defeat that army. He would die or be captured. A desperate prediction dominated Yukinoshita's mind. If that was the case, he should have stayed with them, someone whispered in his mind.

He felt his pessimistic, ruthless self growing stronger about the future. I wonder if the reason I've been able to play the hot-headedness ever since I came to this other world is actually because of that filter, or maybe it's because of that filter.
At some point, Yukinoshita had stopped running on the beach and was walking slowly.

Would he be able to walk back and meet up with his other classmates? If he did join them, would they accept him? Would they accept me for this true nature? Would he be able to forgive me for abandoning Kyousuke Soraki?
Denial (no), denial (no), denial (no). All that runs through my head is 'denial (no)'. There is no optimistic prediction at all. Only bad possibilities come up. There are no miracles in the world, but there are plenty of unfortunate accidents that can happen. My head is filled with malicious possibilities.

Love and courage are just illusions.
Dreams and ideals will decay one day.

 Miracles do not happen.

What am I going to do when I'm faced with this nightmarish reality? What should I do now? I tried to put all kinds of questions on the table, but I couldn't find an answer. The only thing I could think of was that someone with a bad temper was whispering to me, "It's over.

'It's over. Give it up.'

That someone is trying to suppress their own resistance, just to confront us with a merciless "reality".

Once you accept it, it will be easy. Waiting for a miracle that will never happen is exhausting. We are afraid of holding on to hope that it might come true, because we are afraid of being betrayed. It's been like this for a while now. The hope that we might be able to return home together was easily betrayed by Washio's death or by this transference incident.

In that case, it would be better not to have any expectations....

''Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!''

Suddenly, I heard a high-pitched scream in the ears of Snowdonia, who was walking aimlessly. Huh, I look up.

A demon with bat wings on a body several tens of centimeters in length was about to charge forward with a small spear at the ready. It's a small demon (imp).

''Hee........''

It's not catching up to me. It's new. Snowflake screamed and crouched down. The enemy was not one in number. With a squeak and an unpleasant squeak, the little devil was calling more and more of his friends. Their numbers were slowly increasing.
It's still not much compared to earlier. However, Yukinoshita's legs were sluggish. There was a definite fear of fighting. Along with his rough breathing, the atmosphere around him was getting colder and colder. Cold sweat froze, and he stretched out his trembling arms, trying to resist somehow, putting his strength into them.

''(Molecular motion........into the imaginary realm........) Err, freezing ray.........)

The light emanating from his fingertips drew a hilariously unreliable trail and landed on the rocks behind the little devils.

''Kuk......... Ha, ah.........!

 The little devils laughed xiciously.

I feel despair gently caressing my cheeks. It's over. Give up. Don't cling to a lame hope. If you force yourself to reach for the ideal, it will only be painful. Yukinoshita Ryouka's pessimism has become obsessive here.
Several small demons attacked Yukinoshita in unison with their spears. Before she could turn her body around to escape, one of the spears pierced her chest. Kehot, what leaked out of her mouth was not blood, but snow.

A snow woman is just a block of ice after all, and a stab through the chest would not be fatal. However, the most intense pain I've ever felt hit my brain stem. Two or three more spears stabbed through his limbs while his body's movements were paralyzed by the pain.

Ah, apparently it's really over. Snowflake laughed. Maybe he had been waiting for this moment for a long, long time. The moment when you can let go of all your lukewarm hopes and surrender to only the reality you can feel.
Snowflake closed her eyes. Am I going to be killed now? Or will they take me to my blood family and do worse things to me? I don't know, but now I don't care anymore. It's comforting to know that I don't have to hope.

But the cruel reality did not allow her to despair so easily.

'Yukinoshitaa!

I heard a voice and opened my eyes with a gasp. A hoof kicked up the sandy beach and I saw a skeleton astride a unicorn charging towards me, sword at the ready.

''Ky!''

The little devils show their agitation. Skelton--Kyosuke swung his sword and first cut down one of the small demons at hand.
Next, Hakuba smashes the upset little demons with his paws. Then the few remaining bodies also screamed and scattered. Without following it, Kyousuke turned back to Yukinoshita and pulled out the spear stuck in his body.

'Hakuba, can you cast a healing spell?'
Yeah, I'm on it.

The white horse's horns emitted a faint glow and enveloped Snowdonia. Perhaps due to familiarity, even if I skipped the activation procedure, the 《Healing Light (Healing Light)》 was firmly activated.
The cracks on his hands, the holes in his chest, etc., were closed up in the blink of an eye. Yukinoshita stared at Kyousuke while repeating her rough breathing.

Gratitude, it would be natural to do so. But, inevitably, the words would not come out of Yukinoshita's mouth.

I'm not going to be able to say anything else, but Kyosuke said it first.

'You may not get a miracle, but you're just in time to save you. 'Yukinoshita,'
....!
I'm not giving up. I may not be able to change reality, but I still don't want to give up.

When Kyousuke said it once and for all, Hakuba nodded proudly behind him, ''Snow falls in the desert, you know.

The feeling of how can you be so positive and why are you so frustrated with yourself are fighting in your mind. Do I want to have hope or not? No, I already know about it. I just want to let go of hope and get comfortable.

Kyousuke keeps his sword in his hand and is wary of his surroundings. He gets out of Hakuba's saddle, and this time he half-heartedly places Yukinoshita in it. Hakuba had a happy look on his face.

''........What about that horde?''
I shook it off and got away. That's why you have to get out of there. Hurry up!

As expected, it was probably a decision that the two of them couldn't ride the white horse that had just fallen. Instead, Kyousuke had his left arm snugly attached to the neck of the white horse. This one is for the purpose of constantly activating the effect of 《Characteristic Amplification》.
He was about to leave the place immediately, but suddenly, a sound like an earth-shaking sound could be heard. With a buzz, the white horse makes his head jump.

"Not good, Utsurogi. It's him.
Who are you?
He's the King of the Dead. He was among those who attacked us.
What...

For a moment, Yukinoshita didn't know what he meant by "King of the Dead". But he soon remembered. It was the giant undead monster that had prevented them from marching underground in the dungeon at the beginning of the transfer. It was also the first obstacle that stood in the way of the class.
At the time, Yukinoshita was part of the exploration team, but she had never gone that far down to the lower levels, and she hadn't had an encounter with the King of the Dead Spirit.

In the meantime, the earthquakes are getting closer and closer. Kyousuke moaned a small 'Kukaku' and then jumped onto the saddle of the white horse, behind Yukinoshita.

''Whoa!''
"Yikes!
'I'm sorry Hakuba, Snowdonia. If you walk, you'll catch up to me. Can you run!
"Rough with the horses, motherf*cker!

The white horse shouted and then wore a horse and began to run down the beach in one go.

''Snowflake, you must have run out of filter.

With one hand on the reins, Kyousuke muttered something like that.

''So........so?''
No, you could have told me otherwise.

If I had told you, you would have said it, and you would have been extra careful again. You.
Snowflake swallowed, trying to swear like that.

'I don't know, I don't know.'

Their conversation didn't last very long, with Hakuba coming in between them.

'Snowdonia, did you get a makeover or amnesia?'
That was just an act. What do you think, Hakuba? Disillusioned?
'That's the hard part. They're both good!

 He was an honest man.

A huge body slowly emerged from the rocky wasteland. Two skeletal-like faces popped out of the air at a height of ten meters in length. Yukinoshita gulps a small gasp. That's the king of the dead. The depressed eye sockets have no eyes, and he is trapped in a sensation that freezes him to the soul.
The little demons from earlier were floating around the King of the Dead Spirits while creaking and laughing. Perhaps they had brought them with them. At this rate, they would catch up to him. The white horse's breath was also about to come out in a gasp.

''Hey, put me down!''

 Snowflake suggested.

'Don't be stupid!'

 Naturally, Kyousuke blackmailed me.

'I'm not stupid. I'm heavier than Utsurogi-kun, and it's better that the two of us be saved than that one of us not be saved.
These things aren't good if there's more of them and bad if there's less of them!
Then what is it?
I don't want you to die!

I was immensely disappointed. Even though I knew it wasn't meant to be, I couldn't speak back at that moment.
Snowdrop turned her gaze down slightly and muttered.

''........Himemizu-san will be angry.
'Rin will be pissed if you ditch Snowman.
You're all sitting on people's backs, aren't you?

 Hakuba swore under his breath.

'Sorry Hakuba. I don't want you to die, you don't want me to die either.
Thanks!

It's not that you will die if you are grabbed. However, Kyousuke would still not listen. In the meantime, zhushin, zhushin, the king of the dead spirits is closing the distance between them. I could see Kyousuke biting his teeth. In a short while more, this one will be within the range of the six barbaric swords that the King of the Dead Spirit held up.

Kyousuke readied his sword and jumped down from the white horse's saddle.

''What are you doing!''
We're stranded! I'm not trying to die!
'I'm the same! You're an idiot!
Well, then...

A cloud of dust, freshly kicked up by the white horse, fluttered through the air. Kyousuke kept his back to me and continued.

'Help me not die. That's the only way out.''
Wha...
'Your filter is out, and it pains me to ask you to be a pessimist, but you need to force yourself to fight! Unless you want me to die! You may not be able to change reality, but at least try to change your mind!

What a selfish one. On the saddle of the stopped white horse, Yukinoshita Ryouka was stunned.
It was an outrageous thing to care about something so unnecessary. You don't know how much pain we're going through, how can you say something like that without a care in the world? Moreover, Kyousuke, without doubting our backup in the slightest, bravely slashes at the King of the Dead Spirit valiantly.
No, I'm not convinced that he has backup. Surely, that's the only thing he can do anymore. Soraki Kyousuke is a poor skeleton on his own, and there is nothing more he can do but halt him.

''What to do. Yukinoshita.

 Hakuba asked.

''There's no way we can fight........ There's no way we can fight........! Keep on going, guys, you're going to lose...!

As he spoke, Snowdrop tapped his teeth. Everyone lost and got caught. I don't want to do that.

 I don't like it.

Yukinoshita Ryouka was clearly aware of this. No matter how much she denied her ideals and hopes, hung on to her despair and advocated a pessimistic future, she didn't want to be reverent to it. I don't want to die, I don't want to be in a terrible mess, and I don't want anyone else to be, if I can.

Hard work and perseverance are fruitless.
Love and courage are just illusions.
Dreams and ideals decay one day.

 Miracles do not happen.

No matter how much you pessimistic about the future, if you can't tolerate that reality.

Yukinoshita slowly dismounted from the white horse's saddle. In front of him, Kyousuke Soraki was desperately running away from the barbaric sword of the King of the Dead Spirit. With the slightest mistake, he would be smashed over the head with the barbaric sword and die. Such a future could be imagined by Yukinoshita.
That reality, Yukinoshita refuses to accept. The resignation had to be stamped out. The peace of despair had to be smashed. The cold-hearted nature that kept screaming in his mind to give up had to be twisted down.

It had a great deal of work to do.

They say you need a mask to fight. Snowflake sucked in a sigh of relief.

'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Dreams and ideals are not going to come true. Still, I keep praying and crying out for at least the heat in my heart to be real.

If you wish, burn for your life. Pop your fighting spirit! Let the ice in your heart melt.
Let the sunflowers bloom on the snowy mountains of winter, and let the snow fall on the desert!

Just once. Just this one time. At least this one battle. Cremate your weak self, who has been pessimistic about everything, spiteful about hope, and clinging to despair. If reality can't be overturned, at least turn something inside you, everything, front and back, clean!

Freezing hot! It's so cold it burns!

Molecular motion enters the imaginary realm. Minus a trillion, 20 million degrees!

Shaking off absolute zero, the cold air produced by the snowflakes kicked all physics to the curb.

And it's here that everything is turned on its head. The real miracle comes from here!

"Imaginary inversion!

"Utsurogii! Get back!

Hakuba's scream was close to a scream. What the hell, Kyousuke thought, looking back and then exclaimed.

It was a more surreal sight than snow falling in the desert. It's not just a matter of time before you'll be able to get your hands on it. It burned the sand bit by bit, and the little devils crashed down with their eyes crushed.
The snow woman supporting the fireball is indeed Yukinoshita Ryouka. Kyousuke almost looked at her. Kyousuke hurriedly tried to evacuate, but the King of the Dead Spirit would not allow it. I saw a barbaric sword swing down at Kyousuke, who had his back turned.

''Roar! My God! A trillion!

Snowflake released a fireball with a scream. The sun gouged the ground and swallowed the body of the King of the Dead as it scorched the ground around it. The only thing Kyousuke could feel was the sensation of snatching intense heat behind him, and immediately after that, a large arm fell with a roar.

''Whoa!

The impact from behind him caused Kyousuke to involuntarily fall forward. When he turned around, there was only a heavily scorched and gouged ground, and not the slightest trace of the Dead Spirit King's existence remained. The little devils had also evaporated in an instant, without even leaving their corpses behind.

''One trillion degrees...? Seriously...?

I couldn't help but let those words escape my mouth. No, I had a mixture of feelings that if it really was a trillion degrees, it wouldn't be something like this, but it's a fantasy.
Yukinoshita is dripping sweat like a waterfall from the skin all over her body, and she's down on one knee, emitting steam. She had done it. Probably at this last minute, she overcame the loss of the filter and expressed her Phase 2 ability. That fireball must be exactly the inherent ability that Yukinoshita had reached.

''Yukinoshita!

Kyousuke calls her name and runs over to her.
The sweaty snow woman huffs and smiles when she sees Kyousuke. Yukinoshita stands up, leaning against Hakuba's body, and gently holds out her right arm to Kyousuke.

I smacked him in the face with my fist as hard as I could.

"EEEEEEEEE!

At the unexpected impact, Kyousuke's head was blown off with a startled scream. There was a skeleton desperately chasing after the skull as it rolled rumbling across the sandy beach.

'It's clear.'
You should be happy.

Hakuba gives him a tired voice to minister to him.

'What are you doing, Utsurogi-kun? We're in a hurry. There must be a horde after you again, right? I don't want to be in this uncomfortable situation anymore.

With that, Yukinoshita started walking down the beach with a stalwart. Kyousuke placed the skull he had picked up on his neck before running over to Hakuba and asking him in a whisper.

''Hasn't that guy's character gotten worse...?''
'I like snowflakes like that too!
Oh, yeah...

Is she a pessimist, a hot-blooded girl, or just a s*xual predator? I'm not sure what it is anymore.
But I guess one of them is not her face. A hot-blooded girl with a bad character and pessimism. Apparently, Yukinoshita Ryouka is that kind of girl. For now, Kyousuke was relieved to know that they'd gotten out of a tight spot and that one of her problems seemed to have been solved.

How did he reconcile his pessimism and fervent desire with his own? I'll have to ask that again when things cool down.

'What are you two doing! I don't have the spunk! It's hard work and perseverance!

Kyousuke wondered if his character was indeed blurred, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything else because Hakuba muttered, 'It's nice to have snowflakes like that, too.

''As I thought, it must be those guys involved...''

Watching the three of them from behind a rock, the adventurer Lesvon sighed.

'I had a bad feeling when it was a unicorn that spoke,'
What do you want to do?
What to do? You saw it. That fireball. Besides, we promised not to touch it again.

He shrugs at Filhana's words. Lesvon, whose arm was cut off and turned into a ship arm, doesn't have an extreme grudge against that skeleton. It's enough to be grateful for the fact that his life was missed.
The skeleton is not currently working with the example slime. Apparently, it seemed to be poorly equipped with a single rider, and if they attacked it there, they could win, but Lesvon didn't feel like he wanted to do so too aggressively.

Those two red-eyed adventurers looked stinky in a way. He didn't want to trust them too much, to be honest. Although he doesn't talk about it in detail, I'm also worried that Filhana is becoming more and more cautious.

I'm sure you'll be able to find out more about this. If monsters like that live in the area, we should be seeing more of them.
It's a replica of the King of Death. It's a replica of the Dead King. It was made by artificially removing it.

At Philhana's words, Lesbon nodded his head.

'A replica? God's?
''They say they're also studying it at the Imperial City's Magic Academy. However, since the King's Piece of Death is not kept in the Imperial City, that must mean that there are people who have obtained the King's Piece by some means.
You know your stuff, sweetheart.
General education.

Anyway, it's getting to be a full-blown kinaesthetic. Speaking of king pieces, they are relics from the Mythical Warfare Era, where private trade is prohibited. There are people who take such things, build replicas of gods, and have them attack verbal monsters. That in itself highlights the abnormality of the situation.
After all, it's those two that come to mind. Maybe they shouldn't be trusted.

So, what do you want to do?

 Filhana looks up at me.

'As far as I'm concerned, I have a feeling we'd better make contact with them. They're being targeted by people who look like they have a king piece. If we can get the information out of them, we might be able to return safely under the protection of the Empire.

 Or so they say.
Lesvon scratched his head as he watched the three strange ones heading back toward the green space along the coast.
