111-Episode 101: Deep Darkness

Looking around the castle, today, a group of people who know nothing about it live in peace. It's a terribly snarky scene in a country ruled by the bloodline from behind.
This day seems to be a special day for the kingdom, and the streets are more crowded than ever. The king, who has been turned into a puppet, is out in front of the people, smiling and waving. Looking down at such a scene from the castle window, Koganei muttered, "The king's eyes, the blood race.

''The king's eyes, they're getting blood-red, aren't they? Don't they notice?''
He's wearing colored contacts.

Just beside the window, Cyclops replied as he serviced his rifle. Koganei's expression was distorted as if he had lost his strength.

''It's kind of a pathetic misrepresentation........''
It's more useful than bad magic. That's what the tools of civilization are for.

With that, the Cyclops' extra-large single eye gyrates.

Her entire body is hardened with the tools of civilization, so her words are compelling. Cyclops, a demon race, is a race that combines high eyesight, dexterous fingers, and sturdy shoulders. The rifle in her hand is a modified version of a rifle, including ammunition, which was sent to her from the original world to match her physical abilities. The same is true of her goggles with turreted lenses and her high-impact mission suit.
The cyclops is dressed like a member of the army's special forces, except for the huge monoculars that take up half his face and the single horn that extends from his forehead.

Koganei decided to ask her a question that had been on his mind for some time.

''Cyclops-san.......what was he doing in the past?''
I spent two years in the Canadian Coast Guard.
Seriously?
You're lying.

She finished servicing her rifle, and as she put it back on her shoulder, she looked out the window. Through the crowd, she could see the carriage carrying the king moving slowly through the crowd.

'But as you think, I was once human too. My family was a blood sympathizer. I was sent to test a prototype of the shifting degeneration gate when it was completed. On this side of the world, that was ten years ago.
Well, what about the other, um.... Drake or Gorgon?
The Transference Denaturation Gate was incomplete at the time. I was the only one who made it through alive.

There is not the slightest regret or regret in his words. He is simply telling the truth in a matter-of-fact manner.
It was roughly predictable, and to Cyclops himself, it's probably not a shocking event to hide. She was originally a human like Koganei and the others, a being who had transmigrated to us as a monster through the same transference degeneration gate.
She is the only one of the six-blooded beasts (Zexbreed) who has this background. Drake, Gorgon, and Titans are demons from this world, and Toad is one of them.

'You can ask Akeno about this area.
What's with Mr. Cyclops' phase 2 ability and all that?
'Nothing so convenient. The gate I went through is a prototype.

Just then, a scream came from the castle grounds. Koganei and Cyclops gasped and turned towards the direction of the voice.
A carriage was passing through the main street of the castle town. The carriage carrying the king of this country, a man who is now nothing more than a blood puppet, is in the carriage. But from the crowd waving at him on the carriage, a woman leaps at him with a blade out. The woman's screams were drowned out by the screams of the crowd and could not be heard. The knights on guard tried to stop the woman, but the woman swung the longsword in her hand and cut it down.
The woman pounces on the king, who looks upset as it is.

It was right next to Koganei that she heard a dry sound.

He didn't need to see what he had done. The scent of gunpowder smoke danced in the damp, muggy air.
The woman was shot in the side of the head and rolled off the carriage with her sword at the ready. Koganei didn't look away, but instead clenched his fists tightly.

 This event was not uncommon.
There are more than a few who are aware of the changes in the king and the presence of "someone" lurking in the background. Human blood is an essential part of the bloodline's life, and sacrifices were often made to welcome the royal court in the form of a body to the side.
Basically, they try to leave no traces behind, but some of the people are still aware of the presence of the blood family. And from time to time, this would happen.

''You don't look like you're floating, High Elf.

Cyclops said in an emotionless voice.

''Well this can't be a good feeling.''

The corpse of a woman shot to death by a precision sniper is kicked to death by unsuspecting citizens. Whether it was for family or righteousness, the end of one woman swordsman who appealed to barbarism was too tragic to be true. But there was nothing Koganei could do in this situation.
It took a great deal of effort to avoid getting emotional. If he were to speak out in anger, Cyclops would know of his secret intentions.

However, Cyclops showed no further interest in what Koganei said or did. There was a rattling sound and an empty shell casing rolled on the stone pavement.

''Oh, High Elf-dono, Cyclops-dono, you're over here!

A voice like a crushed toad sounds, and the two of you turn to it this time. Then the fat, burly prime minister of the country walks toward you, wiping his sweat off his face. It was Toad.
Koganei doesn't know much about the details, but it is said that this man was the first to sell the country to the blood clan. Before he became a blood relative, he used forbidden arts to become undead, so he was named as one of the six blood beasts. The reason why they are not called "Nosferatu" is simply because "Nosferatu" is the word for vampires in this world, which complicates things.

The reason why they don't call him "Nosferatu" is simply because "Nosferatu" is the word for vampires in this world, which makes things more complicated.

"Lord Red of Luke is awake, sir. I'm sure he'll want to talk to you about his future activities...
Okay, I'm coming.

Koganei said, making a less floaty voice. Cyclops also nodded his rifle over his shoulder.

'Shakko is dead?'

Luke Red, with a single horizontal scar across his face, said this when he was briefed on the situation.

Red, who had been severely injured in the battle with the Queen, had been receiving medical treatment all this time and had been unable to stand up. Koganei was well aware of just how much Luke's fighting ability was. On top of that, he couldn't help but shudder at the power of Asuka Benii, who had given such a huge blow to Luke and then fled the fugue.
Red glanced at Koganei, and then at everyone else gathered in that hall. After looking at all of the six-blooded beasts (Zex Breed), he muttered at one point, 'The faces have changed a lot.

''Already, the roles of the pawns like Bishop and Luke don't mean much.''

It was Akeno who said this with the documents in hand.

''The situation has changed too much. Suou, Sink and Glenn are gone. We don't have time to call in new pieces.'
So it's not so great.

Even though it was the same Luke, Red was a much calmer man than Shakko.

In the middle of the conversation, Koganei looked at a huge flask placed in the center of the hall. In it was a rag-like human who had lost his pigment and was immersed in an unrecognizable liquid. Koganei knows that it is the king of the bloodline, with all four limbs largely missing. And the throne in front of the flask and a girl sitting on it are there only to be controlled by the king to speak.
What kind of existence is this "king"? Koganei had heard about it through Akeno. The king of the bloodline is a pillar of the king's god called the "blood king", who once escaped to Koganei's world after losing a war in this world. Afterwards, he increased the number of his family members by separating the human race from the rest of the world and giving them separate factors.

The ultimate goal of the bloodline was to revive the "Blood King". The Blood King, who had lost his core of power, known as the king piece, was a mere superhuman with immortality. As a result, he has fought many battles, and his body is battered and barely able to survive due to his inherent immortality.
If the king could regain the king's piece and regain the king god again, he would be able to reign with his overwhelming dominance and destructive power. He can take revenge on the world that destroyed the King's God, or on the world that persecuted and drove them out, or on the world back home.

Now the Bloods have only the piece of the King of Death at their disposal. The Blood King's piece is in the possession of the Central Empire.

As for the Blood King's piece, Sleipnir will attempt to acquire it now.

Akeno said, mentioning the name of one of the six-blooded beasts he had yet to meet face to face. Red raised one eyebrow as he heard that.

'You're in a situation to move him directly?
I told you we couldn't afford it.

From their conversations, we can only assume that the last person called "Sleipnir" would be the trump card for the Blood Clan. If he had been able to get all of his classmates from the second year and four classes to follow his original plan, he would have worked to obtain the Blood King's piece in a different way.
But this alone doesn't tell us what kind of being Sleipnir is after all.

The resurrection of the Blood King itself was not a pleasant story for Koganei. Now that the king is out of power, Koganei is able to move relatively freely, and Beni and Kyousuke should be able to get away without being controlled. The Blood King must definitely prevent the Blood King from regaining the King's strip.
But for that, there is an overwhelming lack of information. Even Kyousuke and the others probably don't have this information in their possession clearly. They must somehow inform them of the movements of their blood family........

'Well, that's not the only change in the situation. Toad.
'Well, ah, yes. Yes, yes. Let's talk about it.

Wiping the sweat off his face, Toad takes over the proceedings from Akeno.

''We are beginning to understand the movements of the Empire. There are two Imperial Clockwork Alliance (Dial Knights) in the Vernetus Kingdom, and one of them seems to be a wisp of a blood-monster candidate.

Hearing those words, Koganei couldn't help but interrupt his thoughts.

''It's Hino........''

He was the opponent he had just clashed with on the Beast King Mountain Range the other day. His movements were also a concern, but it was awkward to face him. As expected, Ei wouldn't be able to discuss it calmly with Koganei.

''Why are they in Verneus?''

Drake asks, crossing his arms. Toad nodded his head, scraping sweat.

'I wonder why. 'Well, since there is no reason for us not to do something about it at this point, we'll just leave it alone for now.
(Leaving it alone...)

It's an obvious choice. Koganei feels both relieved and frustrated.
If only he could somehow exchange information with Kyousuke and the others, after all. That's not going to happen.

The future policy of the blood clan will be to move to support the request of Sleipnir, who is working to seize the king piece. In the meantime, the search for Queen Benii Asuka and others will continue.
Naturally, they would also continue to search for the other students, but the stage of devoting manpower to it was already over. They have formed a clique and have gained enough strength to defeat Luke's Shakko. They have decided that if they don't deal with them in a relaxed state, it will be dangerous. This was also good news for Koganei, and at the same time, it was a toothless story.

Currently, the only way to contact Kyousuke and the others would be to move on their own. It would be quite difficult.
If you think about it the other way around, Kyousuke and the others are forming a clique and enhancing the means of self-defense against the blood relatives. If that's the case, should we start moving soon to get the students captured by us to escape?

''Hmm........''
High Elf, can we continue?
Uh-huh.

I couldn't help but feel a snarl come out of my mouth. Akeno's words brought me back to myself and I nodded hurriedly.

''For now, we will divide our forces into two main groups. The group that will help in the operation to take the king piece from Sleipnir, and the group that will continue to search for the queen. The former will be led by Drake and the latter by Red.

Will Ei's direction be to leave it alone while monitoring it? I'm curious, but I can't argue with that.
Koganei is Drake's team. In other words, he was sent to the operation to take away the king piece. This one will be on standby until a specific request from Sleipnir comes. It would be helpful to be able to stay in this base without leaving it.
It would be good if I could stand around until I could successfully stop the king's piece from turning to the blood clan's side, but that might be quite difficult to do alone. Based on the possibility of my position becoming worse, I also need to consider the arrangements for my classmates to escape.

Soon, the meeting was over. Once again, the "King" did not interfere.

Gorgon and Titan were assigned to the team that was searching for Benii Asuka with Red. They slithered out of the hall.
The remaining Koganei and Cyclops assist in the operation to take the O-Kata with Drake. Akeno and Toad brainstormed around the base.

Wordlessly, as Cyclops was about to leave the room, Koganei hurriedly called it off.

'Ah, Cyclops-san,'
.........

She stops and turns around. I'll never get used to the gyrating single eye.

''...What...what?''
Uh, no, uh......... Can you go check on Hakuba and the tentacles field again?
Again.

Cyclops narrowed his eyes and made a gesture of blatant disgust. But he didn't say it out loud.

'It's hard to meet face to face after all........ Akeno-san is Akeno-san, and he's killing one of his friends, so I can't ask him to do this kind of thing........ Please!

Clapping his hands in worship with a bang, Cyclops lets out a small sigh.

''Well even they won't stay safe forever.
...right? I know that.

The blood family can always go back on their word to Koganei. The reason why they don't do that is because it's obvious that when Koganei shows desperate resistance, there will be a fair amount of damage. Now that the operation to capture the Wangkata and the search for the Queen are going on at the same time, there is no need to deplete the war effort unnecessarily.
Besides, Koganei's body wouldn't be able to last much longer. The fresh blood of the High Elves can't be replenished. There was no way to stop the deterioration of the factor. He could renege on his promise only after he became useless. Conversely, when Koganei is no longer useful as a fighting force, that's when Hakuba, Tentahara and the others will be in danger.

So they'll let them go before that happens.

That was something Koganei had decided to do, though he never spoke of it.

As it was, their situation was a concern. So, Koganei would frequently catch Cyclops and have her explore the state of his classmates.
As I found out earlier, Cyclops was also originally from the same world. If that's the case, it's even more worthwhile to ask for help. What can I say?

It's a good idea. I'm not busy until the request comes anyway.

 Cyclops said, then addressed Drake.

'That means. I'm going to check on my captors.
Hey. I'll give you a call if I need anything.

The black-scaled dragonborn looked away from Cyclops without any particular restraint.

'Hey, how's it going?'
Hey, Tentacleshara-kun, just stretch it out a little bit.... Stretch it out a bit more....
You okay? You haven't found it, have you?
I'm fine. I'm fine. Just get on with it.

In the room, such conversations are being held in secret.

The tentacles of the tentacles of the tentacle field are draping the thread that Itomi Kumazaki produces from her palm outside the window. Not only that, but the tentacles were dexterously running the thread around a rather wide area, tucking it into a projection while crawling on the wall.
Hakuba and Yukinoshita are keeping a firm eye out to see if anyone has spotted them like that.

What they are doing, this is really easy to do.

They had grown tired of living in house arrest and decided that they could at least explore the situation in the castle through the thread.
The spider detects the presence of its prey through the vibration of the thread. The spider saki can also do a trick to hear sounds from the vibrations of the thread. As for why, well, that's about it.

However, aside from Arakune at least pulling the thread out of his hand, the juicy tentacles growing out of the Roper's entire body, undulating and flying out of the castle window, is a somewhat too blasphemous sight. Just looking at it is guaranteed to make you sick.

It's better to do it than not to do it, that's how I felt when I strung up the thread of Spider Saki, but it was surprisingly useful. But this was unexpectedly useful.

At least we were able to identify the location of this royal palace to some extent. It was a small country that existed at the eastern end of the continent, not far from the Vernetus Kingdom. This was quite useful information, just because it would allow him to make an arithmetic calculation as to which direction he should flee to if he escaped.
Other things that could be confirmed include the existence of an executive class called the Six-Blooded Beast (Zex Breed) in the blood clan, the fact that the king of the blood clan was currently not in excellent physical condition, and the fact that they were having trouble locating Beni Asuka. Just knowing what was going on outside made me feel much more refreshed in my outlook.

On top of that, Tentahara and the others are currently trying to stretch their strings to more different places.

 But then...

Mwah!

 The white horse looked up.

'There's a hint of a virgin in the air. Everyone hide.
There's no need to hide.

Snowflake lets out a dumbfounded voice and sits down in a handy chair. Tentahara hurriedly pulls his tentacles back from the window. Spider Saki hurriedly retreats to prevent the dripping mysterious liquid from snagging him.
Katsunin, Katsunin. Within seconds of Hakuba looking up, the sound of footsteps echoed from the corridor. They all gulped and swallowed their spit. Tentahara didn't have a throat, so he didn't particularly swallow.

 The door opened unceremoniously.

Everyone's gaze turned toward the door.

''.........''

A single horn and a large single eye. All wrapped up in a special forces style suit, it's one woman.

''........Cyclops-san, that's right.''

 Snowflake blurted out.

''Well what are you talking about?''

Cyclops ducked his eyebrows quizzically. It was a dexterous dive, not even between his eyebrows.

'It's nothing. I'm bored to death, so why don't you bring me some new video game software?'

They all lined up in a row beside each other, facing the TV screen provided in the room. The flashy sound effects of a four-player game echoed from the screen: three characters were engaged in a close battle, while the character in charge of the white horse was blown away without any resistance. It was a natural consequence of the controller's inability to control it with the hooves.
For starters, from Cyclops' perspective, it must have looked like the four of them were spending their spare time playing video games. Only Hakuba had a sad look in his eyes, though.

''Um, by the way, what do you want today?''

When Tentahara called out to him cheerfully, Cyclops replied in a small voice with his arms crossed.

'I have no business with you.'
Yeah, that again...

Every three days, Cyclops would visit her room like this. At first, she would say something like that in a reasonable manner, but gradually she would only say 'I have no use for you'. Somehow, I can imagine that it must be some kind of surveillance.
At the moment, there is no indication that the threads of Spider Saki that are stretched all over the royal palace have been exposed, but I'm not too anxious to think about when they will find me with those big eyes.

Cyclops looked around for a while with his arms crossed. It's not very comfortable.

''May I ask you one thing?''
All you have to do is ask.

The question popped up unexpectedly and was answered by Yukinoshita.
At a time like this, her ability to speak out clearly is very dependable. As a matter of fact, her attitude can't be called a complete bluff either, since she is the one who can deal a major blow to this palace, even if it involves Hakuba and the others, as long as she can buy time.

That high elf is your
Don't talk about it.

A strong spider's voice didn't allow Cyclops to say anything more. Yukinoshita raised one eyebrow.

''Ah..... The matter of Koganei is a bit sensitive, so I'll ask you to pass on it.''

Tentahara took over the words of Kumizaki instead. Hakuba looked at the ceiling without saying anything.
It seems that Cyclops isn't so insensitive that he can't detect the subtle atmosphere that was floating in this room at the moment. Although he made a quizzical face, he didn't step in and ask any further.

I'm sure the only person who has a grudge against you is Mr. Kumazaki. Me.

She ruffles her hair and that's all Snowdonia says. At the moment, she's in a completely cold mode, saying and doing a lot of things that are pushed aside. It's good to be in hot-headed mode every day, though, because it's exhausting.

They are all well aware of the way in which Kumazaki was treated by Koganei. Regardless of how he thinks and acts now, that fact will never change. At least Koganei was a jerk. He disrespected his classmates a lot and said and did things that were selfish.
Even Yukinoshita, who said, 'The only person I have a grudge against is Mr. Kumozaki,' was impregnated with a shunning nuance in her words. It's clear that she doesn't like Koganei either.

''Well, in Yukinoshita's case, it's going to be harder to find someone to like.''

While looking at the ceiling, Hakuba thinks about that.

Hakuba doesn't really dislike Koganei that much. He's a guy who's on a roll, but he was one himself, and well, I don't want to speak ill of the dead too much, but so was Washio.
Koganei had said something about abandoning his fellow students for his own life, and that was the deciding factor, and he lost his position in the class. However, at the time, Hakuba and Washio maintained their position by cutting Koganei off from his diminished reputation.

Dramatic changes in status within the class surrounded Koganei and Ryuzaki.
Among them, there was probably not a single person who could have acted in a complimentary manner. Probably not even that Soraki Kyousuke.

Washio Rohta is dead. Apparently, he had left a last will and testament that he had no hard feelings toward Koganei.
After all, Hakuba thinks that he, Washio and Koganei are all members of the same family, and that they have no right to vilify each other.

Aside from that, it's one thing for Kumazaki to dislike Koganei, but it's another thing for him to dislike her. So, well, Hakuba was able to take care not to bring up the topic of Koganei in front of Spider Saki.

''I see....

After a long silence, Cyclops said just that, closed the door and went out into the corridor. Eventually, the sound of footsteps going away, and there, finally, Hakuba let out the breath he had been holding in all his pent-up energy.

''Buh-hah....

Seeing Hakuba's condition, Tentahara also blurted out.

''What do you think, Hakuba, he'll be back.
I'll be back. Oh no. It's so annoying.

Hakuba replied, this time looking at Yukinoshita and Kumizaki.
Spiderzaki was still trembling faintly. Yukinoshita was snuggled up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. It's a good thing that you can't get along with them, because they never interacted with each other in class, and it was thought that the arrogant Spiderzaki and the cold-blooded Yukinoshita would never be able to get along with each other, but at least at this time, they seemed to be able to build a reasonably good friendship with each other.

"Hey Hakuba, what are you thinking right now?
It varies.

Hakuba blurts out vaguely for now as Tentahara rushes in.

''For now, Kumizaki's in bad shape again, so we'll have to wait until he's calmed down to continue with the string tension.
Yeah. Well, we'll just play the game for a while longer.
That's why I can't hold a controller because I'm a hoof...

Seeing Tentahara, who was dexterously using several tentacles to dexterously control the two controllers, Hakuba blurted out with a bit of envy.

Five more days until core margin (meltdown)
