68-Premature ambition

On Luke's signal, Stephanie granted protection to Bittman and Golem, the tanks, and began counting the seconds with her left hand behind her back. Luke instructed the golem to turn to Rocklove and himself jumped down.

'Haste.'

Stephanie then waved her staff like a commanding stick and sent the heist flying into the golem. She then pounded the ground with her left foot, trying to get a rhythm and grasp the seconds.

Bittman took the target with a Combat Cry for overall hate, while Sova readied her longsword and cut in. The longsword slips into the head of Rocklove, who is carrying a craggy rock on his back.

Bittman was equipped with a slightly larger hand shield and obi sword, but his movements were refined and solid. He played Rocklove's forceps (scissors) with his obi sword, but he was nimble enough to avoid the monsters' attacks.

That was Bittman's basic fighting method, and his fighting style was very similar to Garum's before he used his great shield. However, unlike Garum, who had learned his trade in the dungeons of the gods, Bitman's basic fighting style is based on his experience as a soldier who has been on duty for about ten years.

Unlike God's dungeons, dungeons have existed for hundreds of years, and the monsters that spring up from within them can be a threat to humanity. Therefore, soldiers were often formed to counter dungeons, and Bittman was one of them.

Starting as a soldier, he was trained in numerous dungeons, and was a soldier tasked with hunting the monsters of the dungeons outside on a steady basis. After surviving there for ten years, Bittman retired as a soldier at the behest of his wife, who had fathered a child. From there, he began to dive into God's dungeon where his life was not in danger.

He has years of experience and knowledge of fighting monsters in the dungeons outside. With that, he's very stable in his standings, and his moves are basically the example of a soldier who doesn't get hurt. And yet, he has the strength to attack monsters on his own because he needs to defeat them.

In contrast to the mad knight Garum, who slaughters monsters one after another without any regard for the risk to his own life, the knight who defends the monsters steadily and makes them chase their wounds. That is the man known as Bittman.

There was no way he was going to keep up with the Rocklabs that could be seen in the dungeons outside, and he was able to stand at a comfortable distance even when dealing with multiple opponents. The summoned golem that came next to him also showed no signs of collapsing at all thanks to his shield.

In the meantime, Sova strikes Rocklove one by one with her longsword to make him break his stance, and then she stabs him with her longsword at his empty face. With white particles, the Rocklabs are doomed to die.

''Haste.''

Stephanie was calm as she re-granted the Haste to the golem. Then, after ten seconds passed, she quickly waved her thin wand again, sending the protection flying and making it grant to Bittman and the golem. The seconds are managed properly.

And the battle ended without incident. The earth-colored golem was hit several times, but when Stephanie put the tip of her staff on the golem and did a heal, the body regenerated and returned to normal.

After that, the battle situation was stable, despite the appearance of Rocklove and Gewter, monsters that looked like small dinosaurs, and lava-clad mule golems.

Bittman's stability as a tank and the offensive power to accurately defeat Sova's monsters. Stephanie also didn't basically cut off her protection, and when Bittman was hit, she would put up an area heal and skip the heal to recover.

And Luke looks around the entire PT to assist. If the tank looks like it's going to be hard, he'll send a golem towards it, and if the attacker looks like it's going to be hard, he'll summon other summons and other beasts to assist. Aldrete Crow's PT was so stable that it could be said that it was mostly complete.

(It'll grow on its own, even if I leave it alone, this one.)

If you look at the details of everyone, you can still see things that could be improved, but that's just the details. Particularly with regard to the tank and attacker, it was more difficult for Tsutomu to find places to point them out. Bittman, of course, as well as Sauva, who had been complaining a lot during the briefing, have been making moves on Tank. Sova had a frustrated look on her face, but her movements were solid.

After fighting for a while and finding the black gate to the 62nd level, the five PTs went under the black gate and headed to the 62nd level. Then they all returned to the guild for a break.

After sitting in the guild's dining room and Luke asked for his order, he turned his smiling gaze to Tsutomu.

''How do you like it? Our PT
''Well I don't have much to comment on. You're all very good at what you do.

Tsutomu answers Luke's question with a slightly troubled look on his face. As for the white mage, Tsutomu also has a lot of points to point out since he has a lot of real-world experience, but if he can get this far in about a month and a half, it was good work.

'How is Stephanie? From your point of view.
..........

At Luke's question, Stephanie stiffened like a sinner undergoing an inquisition and waited for Tsutomu to speak with bated breath. The look in his eyes made it hard for Tsutomu to say, but he cut her off.

''Ah, I naturally give my peers a harsh assessment, but Stephanie-san is very good at it as far as I can see. I didn't expect you to have made it this far in a month and a half.
''No, I've been practicing the flying heels of Master Tutum's flying heels for three months now at the suggestion of my intelligence officer.
'What? Three months ago?
Hmm? Yeah, our informant had been studying you beforehand from the vicinity of the thirty-second mark, and had collected data. That's how I found out that your flying heels are resilient, so I did some tests.
''Heh. I didn't know Aldrete Crow also has an informant. Amazing.
'Most of the platforms are being watched by our intelligence officers. I don't want to miss out on any promising recruits or information!

Huffing and sniffing, Luke took a sip of the fruit juice that had been brought to him. When Tsutomu was impressed by the informant's presence, Stephanie gave him an uneasy look, which brought him back to the conversation.

'Even if you've only been practicing for three months, it doesn't change the fact that Stephanie-san is excellent, does it? From what I've seen.

Stephanie has devised a way to install Area Heal only when it's recovering, and she's figured out how long the protection works. Furthermore, she was also seen trying to grant Haste as well.

Stephanie had sent Haste flying at Luke's summoned golem during the battle. Now, although the effect time of the Haste is still occasionally expired, the opponent she is granting it to is a golem that has no will. There was no need to complain about the difference in experience due to the expiration of the Haste. Therefore, Stephanie can practice the Haste in a real battle without any hesitation, so her progress will be faster.

However, Stephanie smiled fleetingly after hearing Tsutomu's words, closed her eyes and shook her head to the side.

''Thank you. But I'm not quite there yet.
Hmm? Does that mean, then, that Tsutomu-kun's assessment is wrong?

Stephanie was at a loss for words at Luke's question with a nasty smile on his face. As Tsutomu looked at Luke for being a mean person, Stephanie looked at him with a look of help.

'Master Tsutomu,'
''Well no, you can't look at me like that. I don't think there's any need for Stephanie-san to be so humble, though. And since you're excellent, you're in Aldoret Crow's army like this.
''Well I'm going to be overtaken soon anyway. I'm in the first army now, but in a month's time I'll probably fall to the second or third army.

When Tsutomu looked at Luke, he shook his head buzzingly. It was true that the healers of the second and third armies were also excellent, but Stephanie was judged to be the best healer at the moment. This was a legitimate assessment, as it was the result of the combined evaluations of the intelligence officers, clerks, clan members, and others.

Stephanie was able to receive that legitimate evaluation and be promoted to the Aldoret Crow's ranks again. But while she was happy, she was also worried. Anxiety that she might be forced to pull another army in the following month. Stephanie was not yet prepared to change from being a pursuer to being pursued.

So Stephanie weighs that assessment and is repeatedly humbled by it. But that humility is not pleasant in the eyes of the healers of the second and third armies. If the humility is too much, it can cause friction.

In order to resolve the rift, Luke was trying to get Stephanie to stop being overly humble by having Tsutomu, whom she respects, praise her for her confidence.

'So I must be more diligent. I'm very happy that Tsutomu-sama appreciates me, but I'm not quite there yet.

But it ended in failure. Stephanie still wasn't confident in her abilities, even after Tsutomu's evaluation. Luke let out a small sigh. Sova next to him also looked at Stephanie and spat that she was a difficult woman to deal with.

But Tsutomu's thin eyes widened when he saw her attitude.

Indeed, Stephanie was able to acquire this much on her own in three months, so she is one of the quite good ones. I can praise her with my hands, and even if she continues like this, she'll grow on her own. Therefore, Tsutomu had no intention of teaching her anything.

However, it was a different story if he was bemoaning his lack of ability to that extent. It is true that Stephanie is excellent, but that only means that she is excellent among beginners. There were still many things that Tsutomu wanted to teach her. Tsutomu looked down and called out cheerfully to Stephanie.

''Stephanie, you have great ambition! It's great! Then we'll just have to practice! Hold on a minute. I'll get a note out....

Tsutomu begins to fish through his own magic bag after receiving the bean tomato soup brought in from the waiter. Stephanie rolled her eyes at Tsutomu's leopardish change in eye color, and Luke looked surprised as well.

'For now, could you please look through all of this?'
...Well, what's this?
There's a table of monsters currently known from the volcano, and the rest is information on the jobs of the current first-string PTs. Please read all of this for now. I think it will be useful.
Ha, ha. All of it? Okay.

Stephanie couldn't help but cringe when she saw a document on the desk. The document wasn't handwritten by Tsutomu, but rather the 'Live Dungeon!' document he had asked the newspaper to write for him. It is a mass of information written using the knowledge of The things after the current hierarchy are written down and saved by myself, but other than that, I asked the newspaper company to duplicate them for me.

Tsutomu then chanted a heel and let out a series of spherical gases, and began to spin multiple heels on his own head.

''Also, heels, but Stephanie-san's maneuvering maneuvering is still not very good. Also, your flight speed is too slow. Please practice spinning them at this level of speed.
Yes, sir.

Stephanie is watching the scene where several heels are spinning on Tsutomu's head quite fast with a jerk, while being taken aback.

'And the support skills, but you haven't been able to grasp the seconds yet. Let's practice the basic protection first.
'Oh, yes. We're still practicing that right now.
'No, now Stephanie, you're counting on your hands and feet, aren't you?
Yeah. Yes, but...
'To begin with, the one I'm counting by hand is off by a few seconds, and the feet are off by quite a few seconds, which is terrible. Right now, it's fine because I'm skipping and granting protection twenty seconds before, but that's going to be a challenge when I'm reducing that time. Why don't we start by correcting those misplaced seconds while we're at it?
Yes.
Fortunately, the time shown on the monitor and stand is accurate. Fortunately, the monitor, the time shown on the stand is accurate. Oh, of course, you don't have to use your hands and feet. Because I do.
..........
'The first two exercises are heels and protection. Those two exercises. It's okay. A month won't help you with your grasp of seconds, but you'll catch up a little bit. And as far as the heels are concerned, you'll be able to see the benefits after a week or so. Then it's unlikely you'll fall to the second team.
Oh, yes.
'Yes. Here are my notes on the practice. You should always do it when you feel like you have some free time.

When Tsutomu handed Stephanie the note he had been writing as he spoke, she took it with reluctance.

'Oh no, Aldrete Crowe is awesome! It's so promising to have such ambition!
Yeah, yeah.

Luke was so surprised by the leopard's change that the gentle atmosphere that was present in Tsutomu earlier was blown away in an instant and changed into something indescribable that he could only reply with short words.

(.........reminds me of my instructor.)

Bittman shuddered a little as he remembered the instructor who had squeezed him when he was a boy himself.
