27-Final chapter

Before reaching the headquarters, Ars took off his mask and robe and walked back with Tesfia for a short distance.

As expected, it would cause unnecessary confusion if the mask remained on. Besides, it was almost like Ars' job was done, he didn't need it.

Tesfia was taken to a paramedic adjacent to the headquarters - though he's an insurance doctor, as they say in the academy.
He refuses to make a big deal out of it, but is kicked off by Alice, who greets him and reluctantly walks into the tent.

When Tesfia was out of sight, Alice turned and bowed her head.

'Thank you, Al.'

A big smile is enough to make Ars's heart jump.
Of course, it's not a s*xy kind of love.

Now that I think about it, I've never been so talkative with a demon. I couldn't help but feel as if I was someone else, my actions, words and deeds were someone else.

I had never felt any kind of anger before. It seemed premature to assume that he was angry about that. Since the result was the annihilation of the demons in the area, it would look like revenge even from the side, I'll try to analyze it objectively.
That wasn't a sentiment that satisfied me, but I had no choice but to dismiss it as something I couldn't help but think about any longer if I couldn't explain it.

It just happens.

 A really flat voice said.

It's a coincidence that I didn't know it was a group of Tesfia's beforehand, but Alice wouldn't have the slightest idea that it was. She gives me a single unclouded look.

She returns not long afterwards as she skirts down to Tesfia.
A smiling smile was directed at the Buddha-faced Ars, as if he wanted to say something.
It's a smile that isn't so much backwards as it is seductive, but it definitely contains something.

''Al, my group doesn't seem to be doing the exercise after this one, so I'm the only one left over...''

I know what you mean. The distant cause of this is undoubtedly due to Tesfia.
On the other hand, Ars felt that it was mean-spirited around not saying it out loud.

'I understand.

I feel it's a hassle, but I don't say it out loud. It would make a difference to both of them. They both have an awkward nature, but by the looks of it, their aptitude was not a problem.
In other words, from now on, they would be qualified to take on the professor without hesitation. He couldn't retract it now, as it was something Ars had said, so he couldn't retract it now.

'I can get a B-rate, okay?'

You've heard it all, Ars white-eyed at her chuckle.

'Don't get carried away,'

I know it's a joke, so I just give her a light peck on the forehead.
Hehehe, yet Alice's gait was still bouncing gracefully with a happy, joyful look on her face.

After that, I worked on Loki who came back and asked him to continue to take care of the training group, although I felt sorry for him.

The two of them will be given one-on-one instruction alone.

As soon as Alice's pace left the headquarters, she noticed.
Or rather, from the looks of it, she was holding back.

'Is that Al's AWR?'

He points without hesitation at the knife visible from his waist.

This kind of thing is common to both of them. It would be even more so if it was something the most powerful magician had, but if you're curious, you can't help but ask.

''Do you want to see it?''

Alice's face is so obvious that you don't have to ask, but the words are a confirmation.
The reply was understandable, because Ars had unsheathed the knife from his waist as soon as he heard it.

As expected, he shook his head without showing any restraint.

''It's a bit heavy.''

Alice scooped up from underneath with both hands as if she were receiving a valuable item, reminding me of a vassal in the king's service.

'Really!'

The arm he received dropped for a moment. Then he reached for the hilt.

'It's beautiful.'
..........

Ars, who has never been told such a thing, takes a few moments to reply.
He comes back to himself with his impressions of how sensible he is.
As a matter of course, the explanation he gave to Loki is repeated.

'Can't we try it?'

This doesn't mean that you can't use it to defeat demons. It's a question of whether or not you can grant magic power.

I'm not going to be able to say "fine," because although there are magical formulas engraved on the AWR of Ars, granting magic power alone doesn't actually cause anything to happen.
It's not the same as usual shabby, but it was supposed to be a remarkable grant of results.

''.........!

The only person who noticed was Ars. She's focused on manipulating magic power as usual.

Even though Ars's AWR is called granting magic power, its range doesn't stop at knives.
In other words, when it comes to everything, it also includes chains. That's why Alice's grant flowed into the chains leading to the inside of the sheath as well.

''----! How far is this going to go...
It's a hundred meters.
Lie!

Instantly, the magic power broke off and fizzled out.

However, Ars certainly saw, or rather felt, it. That her magic power made one magic formula react........

In response to this, Ars didn't give an answer right away. He could only think about whether it was right to let it out. Conclusions were quickly caught in his throat.

(Maybe it's because Alice has traits in the elemental light system...........no, it's still weird.)

The reaction to Alice's magic was systemless. The slightest reaction is not certain, but perhaps it's localized.
There is no doubt that her magic power is a light system. At the same time, part of it is that it has the same peculiarities as Ars.

There's not enough material to call it another peculiarity. Ars didn't put it off and say it out loud.

In the battle with the demons, he had succeeded in defeating more than ten demons in time while skipping instructions and sometimes with the help of Ars.
Near the headquarters, the number of demons was extremely low, so they had to travel somewhat farther.
That included the C-rate, of course, but it was too much for Alice to handle.

There seemed to be no fear. Maybe it's because of Ars, but he's resolute, not taking a step back, the way a mage should be.

Her spearmanship is still quite good. Although there is a little bit more to it than martial arts, it will naturally become more optimized for defeating demons as you gain experience in battle.

The magic power grant has not been able to deal damage to C-rate opponents at this stage. Perhaps the same should be true for Tesfia.
A crucial difference between the two of them. There were certainly areas where Alice was inferior to Tesfia.

''Is that the only magic you can use?''

Even now, he turns into Alice and slaughters a demon that is still out of his hands in an instant.

''Yeah. That's why I can't put too much effective damage into the demon.''

He scratched his cheeks with a dirty finger and gave a blank smile.

It's very useful in opponents. No, Alice's Reflection and Redaction are immensely powerful if you are against a magician.
But it can't be a decisive strike against a demon.

''As it is, even if you can defeat them, you'll still get a D-rate.
There aren't many magic of the light system, and the offensive magic is all very difficult to use.

He knows that he can't let this go on. An excuse-like mouthpiece, Alice smiled bitterly, almost resigned to the fact that there was nothing she could do about it.

There are extremely few mages who can handle the inherent light system. In particular, light is few in number compared to the strains called darkness.

That's why we can't get detailed information, and we haven't been able to figure out why it's an inborn expression.
It's a good thing that you're not going to be able to get a good idea of what's going on in the world.

The only thing that can be said for the elemental strains is that they are not able to use magic in the elemental strains, although Ars can use magic of any strain at a high level.

It's not a good idea to be able to have a good idea of what you're looking for.

'Well well, if you're going to be a guinea pig, I can't help but think about it.
Hmm--?

He keeps smiling, but has a somewhat vacant expression on his face.
Obviously, what is he talking about? A look like that told me off.

I reiterated that the word 'guinea pig' was wrong.

''If we can do some research, even in the light system, it might give us a chance to weave magic.
Hmmm--?

This time I held myself in my arms.

I understood that I wasn't wordy, but I wasn't going to force it. I was originally interested in the elements, but there was little data, and I needed a specimen.
That said, this exchange alone was getting tedious.

'Then I don't know.'

Ars doesn't have the cuteness to pout and turn away.
Maybe that's why the air was a little serious.

''Oh yeah--he said it was a joke.

That's why I'm much angrier at Ars teasing me than I am at being rejected.

'But to find out........'

Seriously thinking, Alice's cheeks flushed and her gaze looked down at her body - a part of it.

'I don't know what you're thinking, but probably not.
What?
We just need to run it through a device that analyzes the body's information. We'll need to test the magic in person. You'll have to change into your inspection clothes, though.
'What ... then ... fine. Please.

He was supposed to be polite and perfect, yet he was neat and tidy, as if he was taking it lightly.
I'm sure you'll be able to find a lot of good reasons to go for it.

''I'm telling you, I made that one up!
...

He pointed behind his back at the knife he had shown earlier.
Ars, who felt slighted, thought that he was being misunderstood too much, but he also showed his achievement with the meaning of reassuring Alice.

I thought I heard an obvious giggle and onomatopoeia.
The key is that the reaction shows, I dug my own grave. It wasn't an overly perceptive reaction, but a predictable one.

Alice wasn't supposed to mean that, but the conversation with Tesfia had passed for a moment.
It was a reaction that was reawakened after she had just said that she hadn't done much research, etc.

After that, the two of them devoted themselves to defeating the demons until the very last minute. As you know, Ars was only being accompanied by them.

 ♢ ♢ ♢

 The next day of school.
It's the second day after extracurriculars, to be exact, as classes were cancelled the next day.

Today was an exceptionally busy day. There were some students who were unable to come to school due to mental illness, but that was probably only a small percentage of the total.
There are two main topics of conversation for the students.
The first is about the masked wizard. Few of them must have seen it firsthand, but even without a little exaggeration, the students who were helped had a good argument.

'A blow to an upperclassman, ko~ with his bare hands.
In your lap.................

That must be a famous magician, and I can see where the academy called him to help out or something not necessarily off the mark.

The other was in response to Loki's valiant command. Although this one was just an exaggeration, with the teacher in tow and the upperclassmen at his beck and call, there were many students who were indebted to his manipulations.

The two of them had done little or no damage to the first year students.
Fortunately, the injuries that the chancellor was concerned about ended up being for the best. On the other hand, though, the bill is firmly being paid.

The supervisors who put the first-year students in danger, the upperclassmen who disobeyed the instructions of the reinforcements and acted alone have been punished by the institute.

Most of the dozen or so who were subject to punishment were only suspended from school for a month. If a student had already been assigned to the military, he or she would have faced the prospect of being reassigned. Second and third year students who are about to apply would be graded as a disadvantage.
Even if it's only for a month or so, it's certainly a painful situation for the upperclassmen.

And the only person who was expelled from the school was a third-year Cubsol student.
The reason for this was the damage. There were three members of Tesfia's group currently lying in a hospital bed suffering from mental illness. They remained conscious until the end - the female students managed to go to school.
It's not a complete recovery, but it doesn't seem to interfere with daily life.

What happens to the three boys in the future as wizards will depend on them.
Kabusol, on the other hand, is recuperating at home, but the use of magic itself was triggered by the trauma it caused. The life of the magician itself was cut off.
The Chancellor had been unable to take severe action because of his title as a nobleman, but this was a ruling to prevent a recurrence in the future.

The only reason why there was no objection from the Dembel family to this is because they lost the quality of magic.

Back to the topic, the two people who came up on the topic within the class, were absent today.

The reason for this was in the extracurricular classes.
Yesterday's second year students and today's third year students are going out to the outside world to clean out the demons. The assistant duties continue to hold them back.

Nevertheless, it wasn't as much of a hardship as it was for the first years; once the B-rate was taken care of, Loki's turn was inevitably less, as was Ars. The punishment handed down early served as a stopper, and the situation that caused the two of them trouble was prevented.

Thus the curtain comes down on the temporary extracurricular lesson. Even if this is a permanent fix, the flaws discovered in this lesson will be of great use next time.
