5 . A pharmacy student and a bear came over

It has been about two weeks since Aura and her friends arrived.

I've finished producing quite a few of the potions in my home laboratory, so I decided to go peddling to the village at the foot of Mount Gorn.

You can arrive in just a few hours if you can get a ride with Aura and the others who have been transformed into dragons, but Aura's injuries haven't healed yet, and more importantly, it would be troublesome if someone found us or we were attacked by a group of large beasts, so we decided to go by wagon.
Since Aura wasn't in a state to go far yet, Unna, the cat people, decided to stay behind as a caretaker, and Erdena and I would head out to peddle.

Even before we left, Erdena was in a strangely good mood, and Aura was in a bad mood, but what's wrong with her?

On the way, while looking for a place to camp, we found a rocky area where water was seeping out of the ground.
There were several trees with fairly thick trunks growing in a dense cluster near there, and it looked like we could rest on them.
The top of that tree was more comfortable than we expected, so we decided to spend the night there.
There was just enough space in the trunk of the ground to fit the wagon and the horses perfectly, so I hid the wagon there, attached a simple wooden door at its entrance, and cast an air-blocking spell just in case.
''........If we built a hut on top of this tree, it might be just the right interim lodging place.
She seemed to like the top of this tree, and Eldena was also looking around happily.

''........If I could just bathe you I could attack you.......''
Hmm? Erdena, you said something.
........no, no, no. It's nothing........yeah, everything.
We decided to finish our dinner of simple food and go to bed early that day, despite the fact that Erdena was acting strangely suspicious.

We left early the next day and were able to reach the village at the foot of Mount Gorn well before noon.

I feel sorry and happy that we were allowed to enter the village with a face pass, since we had cured the villagers' illness last time.
Before going to the trading post, I went to the church on the outskirts of the village.
'Lady Safate and Lady Erdena! It's a pleasure to see you again!
Yome, the Owl People, who was cleaning up, greeted us with a big smile on his face.

He said it was a natural action for a Owl to do, but I was a little surprised to see him turn his head 180 degrees to his back and find us.

Yorùmé told us that there had been no cases of the Depa bacteria since we had distributed the drugs, to our relief, Erdena and I hadn't seen any patients since we had last seen them.
I'm sure the girls will be happy to hear that when we get back home and tell Aura and the others.
They were quite concerned about the depa fever that they caused, you know.

I happened to pick up the medicine that Yome was producing, and I looked at it for a moment and my face clouded over.
Sure, it has medicinal properties, but it's strangely full of impurities.
'Actually I learned it mostly on my own, based on this book.
 Yome looked down apologetically.
The book was indeed a book that described how to produce medicines using herbs and other medicines, but it only described a fairly simple method of production. Therefore, it was quite an unreasonable product for a beginner to use as a reference.
Besides, there were only a few types listed.
My father was a fine priest and doctor who studied pharmacy in the frontier city of Greencomb. But he died suddenly of an epidemic and I took it upon myself to see what I could do.
Even though it's a good thing to see, that medicine is well done for a self-taught person.
 So I decided to
If you want, you could come over to our house and learn a little bit about medicine?
I invited him to join me.
Yome looked blank at first at my offer and then
"Ho...really? ...Oh, but I don't have much money...
'You don't have to worry about that. If you can help me with the farm work and the housework, that's enough for me. I've also taught pharmacy and medicine, so I'm sure I can be of some help with this.
Yorme was happy to hear that, with a small leap of faith.

Since there would be no one to provide medical care in the village with Jormé's absence, we suggested that we should come back once a month to deliver the medicines on a regular basis and leave a stock of medicines at the town hall.

We had to make preparations, so we parted ways with Jome and went to the union office to discuss our proposal with the union's ant people, Alea, and she came up with a proposal.
Yomé's a natural-born girl. The village made it convenient for him to take over as a doctor. Study hard, that's a good thing.
 That's how they agreed.
As for the stock of medicines that we had to keep on hand, the union agreed to buy them from us.
We were grateful for this, too.

After the talk at the town hall, I handed Alea the medicines for placeholders and explained to her the efficacy and usage of each one.
After that, we show up at the trading post and sell the medicines at our assigned stall.
'Oh! Look who it is, it's my brothers from the other day!
The sub-people at the trading post come up to me in unison with smiles on their faces.
They all say thank you for the recent depa fever and
Your pills are just as effective as the rest of them!
They bought medicines one after another.
We had brought mainly wound and painkiller medicines that could be left at home, and they were all sold out in no time.
We also brought some vegetables from the field, but we decided to bring them back to the store because the ones sold at the trading post were much better looking and better quality.

Perhaps it was because I had mentioned on a recent visit that I was growing vegetables in my family's garden.
Safate, take it home and plant it if you want.
Some farmer's uncles handed us a bunch of vegetable seeds.
We'll see what we can do with them when they're ready.
However, this is going to make a big, useless field more lively.
In the trading post, they were selling seedlings of fruit-bearing trees, so I bought some to try out.
We also stocked up on the vegetables and meat that Unja had asked us to get, and loaded them into the wagon.

 On this day.
You'll have to stay in the church!
And Yome told me to take advantage of the favor.
Dinner was Jome's homemade soup with a variety of ingredients.
Although it wasn't as good as Unya's, it was quite good in its own way.
'Yes, this is delicious. Jormé is a good cook, isn't he?
When I complimented him on that, Yome turned bright red and was embarrassed.

As dawn broke, we left the village.
We were only two when we came, but this time we will return home with three of us, including Jormae.

For your information, this trade in the village, although the medicines were sold out, the price was very high, so we bought some food, and that's why we lost some money.

It's a good thing that you're able to have a stable life at home, because you're almost self-sufficient for now, and the ingredients for the potion are mostly from the forest, so you don't have much of an ordinary expense, and your life itself is stable, so you can't help but take it easy.

On the way, we spend one night in the tree we used to come to, and the next day we head home.
'Botchan~! Welcome back, Meow!
Una runs up to me with great speed, but when she tries to hug me, Erdena interrupts her between us.
Something about the two of us, we're both laughing at each other, but our eyes aren't smiling.......
''Next time........I'll definitely succeed in giving you a welcome hug~''
Well that's not going to happen.

I would like to introduce Yome to you all again.
My name is Yome and I'm pleased to be here to study. It's a pleasure to meet you all.

The three remaining members of the house, Unja, Aura and Ela, also welcomed Jome with smiles.
We decided to let them use the room on the first floor that we had been using as a storage room.
This filled three of the four rooms on the first floor, as the largest room was the laboratory and dispensing room and one room was Aura and Ela's room.
As a result, the room they were using for storage was running low, so they decided to use the small single-story house adjacent to the house as a storage room.

This is an old inn town. I'm sure it's been unoccupied for a long time, but I'm amazed at how well they've kept it clean.
As I looked at the village, Yome was constantly impressed with the state of the village.
Even so, there is still a lot of work to be done, such as cleaning up the broken house that is not likely to be habitable yet, and there is still a lot of work to be done.
Well, there's no point in rushing, and I'm hoping to do these things slowly.

At dinner, I'll report back to everyone in the detention group about what's going on in the village.
When I tell them that the depa fever had subsided, I see that Aura and Aela are genuinely relieved.
I also tell them that I brought back vegetable seeds and fruit saplings, which we will all plant in the near future.

''Come to think of it, we're going to have a harvest festival soon.
Yormae said that a harvest festival is held every year in late autumn, on a rotating basis in a large frontier city.
I was unfamiliar with the festival, as I had only ever lived in the capital, but I heard it was quite busy every year.
However, it seems that because of the interference of my disowned family members, I am now prohibited from entering the main frontier cities, so I will have no choice but to forgo participation in this year's event.
However, I would like to show up at some point.

The next day, I started to study Yomei.
For now, as a matter of practice, I asked him to soak the ingredients at home and prepare the medicine as Yorme usually does.
Although Yome's handiwork was a little faltering, he worked very carefully and made good sense. However, because he hadn't learned the basics, we found problems with the herbs, such as decocting parts of them together that needed to be removed, or too much decocting and deteriorating.
However, these can be improved with study.
Or rather, I could say that he was a very promising student.

While I was studying pharmacy with Yome.
In the field, the seeds of the vegetables they brought home yesterday were being sown, mainly by Unja.
However, they weren't familiar with the types of seeds, so they couldn't decide whether they were good seeds to plant at this time of year or not.
At any rate, Erdena stared at the seed book and somehow managed to plant a few seeds that had been identified.
After that, he planted a fruit sapling in a sunny, slightly open area.
I heard that they are supposed to produce some pretty sweet fruit, so I'm looking forward to it now.

After dinner, Yorùmé continued to read the books on pharmacology that were in the laboratory, but he couldn't seem to understand any of the difficult words.

I wondered if there was a school in the village.

I asked Yormé if there was a school in the village.
Simple literacy is something that Alea from the union teaches the kids twice a week.
He is a former teacher and I wish I could be of some help in this area as well.

He is also a former teacher, so I wish I could be of some help in this area as well, but I don't know what to do with a four-day round trip.

 Early the next morning
Hey, little girl!
I could hear Unja's cheerful voice from outside the house.
I went to look around to see what was going on, only to find that she was carrying a little black bear with her.
"It seems to have gotten separated from its parents. It has wandered into the fields.
The little black bear is a small bear with a mild temperament among bear species, feeding mostly on vegetables, tree sprouts and bark, and not much meat.
Among them, this little black bear is quite small, as if it were still a child.
When I gave him some vegetables, he seemed to be very hungry and started to eat them with great vigor.
Come to think of it, since it wandered into the field, does that mean that it has ravaged the vegetables in the field?
 And I was worried.
No, no~. Do you think this Unya would let you do that?
At that moment, I thought Unja's eyes seemed to glow suspiciously....
And it felt like the little black bear cub was freaking out and shaking...

After I fed him, this little black bear became very friendly with me.
We thought it might be a little dangerous if my parents came looking for him, but we decided to return him to his parents and leave him at home for a while.

We decided on a name for him, but everyone started to think about it with great enthusiasm, and in the end, after a lot of clamoring and boisterous discussion until late that day, we settled on Korok. As a result of the clamor and noise until late that day, we settled on Korok.
