211 . Frontier City Alliance 4

The day after the Parma Festival ended, I left for the frontier city of Batcombe.
The day after the Palma Sacred Festival was over, I left for the Frontier City of Batcombe to participate in the reception ceremony for the letter of recognition of the Frontier City Union from the Central Frontier Bureau of the King's Capital to be delivered to Batcombe on that day.
The new Frontier Cities Coalition will be headed by Geltor, the lord of the frontier city of Batcombe, with me serving as the vice president.
I'm sure there were other suitable candidates for the position.
We're gonna need the younger generation to step up their game.
So it was Geltor's decision to give me this great role.
To be honest, I wasn't sure how much I could do, but I knew I didn't have many chances to experience such a thing.
After leaving the town hall, I stopped by the administration office in the old Geghemorse area on my way.
One of the deputy lords, Biblina, has been staying here lately, repairing the walls and roads in the area.
Today, I'm going to Batcombe, and since Biblina is the daughter of the Lord of Batcombe, Gelter's own daughter, was supposed to accompany me, I came to pick her up like this.
When I arrived, Biblina was already standing in front of her office waiting.
I'm sorry, didn't want to keep you waiting?
You're on time. Don't worry about it.
Biblina got into the carriage as she said that.
By the way, the guard of the carriage is Cornes, Chias and Dodona this time as well.
The three of them may have been assigned as my personal guards.
As a matter of fact, we can't afford to take a platoon of guards with us every time we go somewhere, so this kind of small, elite group is honestly a big help, and I'm sure the guard captain, Gugs, is taking that into consideration.

We put Biblina on a carriage and moved to Batcombe.
The old Gehmose area is located in the northern part of the frontier city of Liberty Combe and borders the city of Batcombe.
There is a huge stone wall on the border between the city and Batcombe.
This is a remnant of the time when Batcombe was practically controlled by the sub-lords of the church.
In the past, this city's border wall was a top priority security area, and there was a time when most of Liberty Combe's guards were stationed around this wall, but after Geltor regained authority as a lord, they didn't have such tight security.
There is only one guard platoon stationed at the gate of the city in order to check people coming in and out of the frontier city of Liberty Combe.
We received a check from the guards at the gate, and we went into Batcombe territory.
It's called a check, but it's just a formality for my carriage, the lord of the land.
We headed north on the road, and soon the carriage with us on it arrived at the town hall of Gehmose.
Guelter was greeted by Deefena, Guelter's secretary, captain of the Guelter Destroyed Maids Unit, commonly known as the GDM unit, and Guelter's first secretary, as she was answering a messenger from the Central Frontier Bureau of the King's Capital that had already arrived.
'It's rare. 'It's unusual that your father would not come to meet you when Safate is coming.'
Biblina nodded her head while saying that.
''No matter how much, you wouldn't leave the messenger from King's Landing alone to greet me, would you?
Your father is very fond of Safate. No wonder he goes to such lengths.
Biblina said, and Diefena giggled as she said that.
You're just as sick as usual.
 I said.
Accompanied by Diefena, Biblina and I were led to the reception room.
Inside the reception room, Gelter was welcoming a messenger from the Central Frontier Bureau in the capital, and the messengers were two young women.
'I see ... the usual bad disease.
Biblina let out a sigh while muttering in a whisper.
''Well, well, these are the messenger lords from King's Landing. You wouldn't be able to talk to them if I didn't greet them, would you?'
That's what Gelter said, but as I saw the stunned expressions on the faces of Biblina and Diefena, I couldn't help but ponder how to respond to them.

 After such an exchange.
Then I see that the Lord of Liberty Combe, the lord of the frontier city, has arrived and...
The messengers of the Central Frontier Bureau stood up as they said so.
In response, Gelter also stood up.
''Then, I will award you a certificate of approval from the Union of Frontier Cities.
As he said this, one of the messengers, a long-haired woman, handed Geltor a bundle of documents she had taken from a large bag.
''We have indeed received them. I'll do my best to work with the lord of Liberty Combe and all the cities and villages that are members of the Union of Frontier Cities to make them more prosperous.
Gelter bowed reverently as he accepted the papers.
 Me and Biblina followed suit.

After that, the messengers completed the formal transmission of the paperwork.
Then we'll be off.
 So he went home quickly.
Well, don't be in such a hurry, would you like to have dinner with me?
And Gelter was chuckling at the women with a nikah.
Of the two, the short-haired woman seemed to be unperturbed, but the long-haired woman seemed to be the one with the long hair.
"I'm grateful for your concern, but I'm away at work in King's Landing today.
He said this coldly and moved quickly to the regular mage boarding area.

After seeing off the messenger, Gelter turned to me again.
I'm not going to be the only one who can do that. I'm looking forward to working with you.
As he said this, Walter lightly tapped me on the shoulder.
After that, we went back to the reception room and had a meeting to discuss the future.
However, the meeting was already done when we submitted the application to the capital, so it was just a confirmation process.
''As planned, Batcombe will help rebuild Urinacombe. I would like Safate to work with Greencombe in coordinating the outlying small cities and settlements south of Greencombe.
 I nodded at Gelter's words.

Until recently, the frontier city of Greencomb was operating based on an ultra-closed foreign policy.
Because of that, the small frontier cities and settlements around it have become isolated in their own right.
However, in this regard, the Green Combe has begun to host regular representative meetings and has begun to build a mutual cooperation system, albeit gradually.
As part of this, they have asked for the extension of the stagecoach network in the frontier city of Liberty Combe to the outlying small cities and villages in the south.
However, since each of them were running their own isolated operations, it seems that there are not a few villages that have been abandoned and are now uninhabited.
The pioneer village we went to search for when we were asked by Green Convoy was one of those abandoned settlements.
Here, for example, an ancient monster tribe that had become wild because it had been abandoned had settled in the area.
If brigands were to settle in other abandoned areas as well, it would be a big problem, so they are planning to investigate such abandoned areas in collaboration with Green Convoy.
This is also thanks to the change in the lord of Greencombe.
The catalyst for that change was the fall of the Greed family and their inability to fund the previous lords.
Afterwards, after discussing the recent developments in our cities with Geltor, Vibrina and I returned to the frontier city of Liberty Combe.
'Come visit me again anytime you want,'
Geltar smiles at that and smiles with a smirk.
'What is it? Won't the mistresses invite you to dinner?
Such is the case, and Biblina speaks to Gelter with a sarcastic look on her face.
It seems that Gärter has no choice but to smile back at such Vibrina.

We said goodbye to Geltar and drove the carriage towards the frontier city of Liberty Combe.
