63-62 ◇ Withdrawal Dungeon Master

The place I moved to was like the lobby of a high-class inn.

After I started working at the Demon King's Castle, I realized that the dungeon was only a workplace. The part of the dungeon that was shown to the guests and the part used by the staff were completely separate.
It's surprisingly modern and functional. It's clean, and it's a far cry from the image of a dungeon. Perhaps it's only natural if you think about it, but at first I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable.

Apparently the dungeon master is in a room with no transition stones installed, so we walked to the location.
We arrived in front of a door with a knob. This area also feels like a room at the inn.
 Kay-san knocks on the door.

''Lord, we've brought the people from the Demon King's Castle.

 No reply.

'Tch....'

I felt like Mr. Kaye clicked his tongue and said.

'Lord ... Thor. Open it.

The tone of voice changes to a broken one. Maybe it's like this when there's no workplace hierarchy.

'You're here to help us, aren't you? Greet me as a dungeon master.

Then I heard a muffled voice from behind the door.

''Well leave me alone for now, Kay.

What? How many more days do you plan to stay indoors like that? And while we're at it, the payment is due, you know?

'I know I know I know, so don't prickle me like that. You're making me feel even worse.

'It's amazing that you're still sinking. I thought we'd reached the bottom long ago, but I'm relieved to see there's plenty of room.

'I like your sarcasm, but I'm not in the mood to laugh and listen to it right now. Tomorrow, I'll greet the people of the Demon King's Castle...

Phew!

Kay turned her back to the door.
She sensed it by the sound of her hooves, and she heard a voice from behind the door saying, "No way... no no no no....".
In the next moment, Kay's hind legs jumped - shattering the door.

'Oh shit........! I knew it!

 A shout from inside.

'Ladies and gentlemen. Come inside.

Kash had put it down when he got to the door, so he didn't have to worry about the kick causing him to fall down.
But when he saw the back leg kick exactly, Kash opened his little mouth angrily and his ears were shaking with a plumping of his ears.
He leaned in close and I patted his head to reassure him.

'Good kick,'

Mr. Foulkas, having eaten all the spit-roasted food, gives a short compliment.
Someone should probably rush in for kicking down the door.
It didn't seem to be in the air like that, so I entered the room as Kay-san urged me to.

It was a simple room. There was only minimal furniture and a shower room.
The dungeon master was wrapped in the futon and hugging his knees in the corner of the room.

''Oh God. I can't even spare the magic power to fix the door.''

As long as you don't fix it.

'Haha, you've got that going for you. Kay, you're a genius... haha.

The Dungeon Master laughs in a dry voice.
I can't see him clearly because he's hiding behind a futon, but from his voice, he's a man and his body looks bigger than mine.

'Just say hello. You're a dungeon master, even one like you.

''Well I'm an unqualified dungeon master and an a**h*le, but you could be a little nicer to me. If you were to be cold to me, I wouldn't be able to stand up again.

You can't get it up by being nice to them.

Goooooooo....
I'm gonna kick you if you don't hurry.

"Stop it. You'll get out of my life...

While saying that, the dungeon master - Thor-san - stands up with a reluctant look on his face.
He had green skin, thicker limbs and torso compared to an ordinary person.
 Thor-san was an orc.

''Huh.......I'm sorry to show you this embarrassing part. I'm Thor, the dungeon master of this dungeon. Thank you for this, er.......anyway, thank you.

 We'll say our names too.

'Uh ... Leme? What, Lemegeton, eh, Lemeh, the former Fenix Party Lemeh!

Thor jumps up and is surprised to notice now.

'No, no, no ... what? Because you had a hole in the belly of the [Fire Brave], right?

'Well....'

'But you got kicked out of the party, didn't you? [Warrior] Alba said in an interview.

Not exactly, but it's more or less like that.

''To be honest, I was also wondering why there was a [Black Mage] in the fourth place party. Oh, I'm sorry...!

Kaye glared at her with a guileless stare, and Thor shivered with a jolt.
She wasn't surprised, but Thor-san's reaction was more natural.

'Yeah, but ... if you're that strong, why did you get kicked out? No, I'm not questioning your abilities or anything! And the communication was properly made from the Demon King's Castle.

It's a lot of things. More importantly, I wanted to talk to you about helping out in the dungeon.

 Instantly, Thor-san's eyes become cloudy.

This wasn't the time to be worrying about people........''

The dungeon of the beginner level and the beginning of the dungeon was originally in financial difficulty.
That's when the Demon King's father offered financial assistance. Thor believed the man who claimed to be an acquaintance of his grandmother, so he signed the contract without reading it carefully.
If he couldn't repay the money by the due date, the dungeon would be seized.

''........Go ahead and curse all you want. I'm a stupid orc who can't even read the contract........

"Fool. Scum. You did all this without consulting me, and then you got suckered by a complete idiot.

It was Kay-san who quickly cursed out.

''Oh, um ... I was just saying that to Leme-san.

'Excuse me. I thought you'd be more than happy to be cursed by a maid.

I'm not sure I have that proclivity... Even if I did, I wouldn't ask for it in public.

Dungeons have a tendency to produce an almost inexhaustible amount of magic, but the output and the amount of magic produced varies from dungeon to dungeon.
For example, let's say there's a tap that produces an infinite amount of water, but only one drop every few seconds?
Just because it's inexhaustible doesn't mean you can do everything.
You have to take that into account when deciding how many layers and how much and how to build facilities for the staff.

I'm not just a recluse, either. I thought about it a lot... but no laws can be broken...

In order to make dungeons more entertaining, the use of magic power was strictly regulated by law.
To put it very simply, it's the law that says you can't use it for anything other than dungeon duty.

Magic power is what makes the graphics board (TV), brain board (PC), refrigerator and cocoons work. The source of magic power is magical stones. It is a stone that can store magic power, and you can use it by putting your own magic power or purchased magic power.
Besides, magical power is also a source of magic.

The magic stones in circulation are created in such a way that they can't be converted into magic, but sometimes magical crimes are committed by using modified magic stones.
Yes, inexhaustible magical power can enrich your life, but it is also very dangerous.

Let's think about that too.

When the war had just ended, not even the Dungeon Masters were willing to take advantage of something that they didn't understand exactly how it worked. Some may have thought about it, but it hasn't come to fruition.
Given the value of its use, should we assume that there was some kind of problem that prevented it from being used?

So instead, they put strong restrictions on it.
Up to the present day, this law has remained largely unchanged. The only thing that has changed is that some adventurers' magical bodies (avatars) are allowed to be generated and more are allowed as staff facilities.

In other words, you can't make money from dungeon magic. It's illegal.
It's allowed to allow defeated adventurers to generate magical bodies (avatars), but adventurers don't come to the dungeon in the first place.

''Thinking........even though you say you're the chief strategist, your field is defense, right? Not management. That's right, the tenth layer of defense was something I would have cooed about, too. I mean, it was great. If it wasn't like this, I would have recorded it on endless repeat. But you know, this is a beginner's dungeon. "The Demon Lord's General Staff is here as a special guest! I don't want to invite adventurers with a statement like that. You can't distort that part...

If I fought off the Fenix party and blustered about my coming, the adventurers in the vicinity would come flooding in.
But that would essentially raise the dungeon rank.
Not in a way that puts me in the forefront.
I don't intend to deny that commitment.

''--I understand.
