48-48-Sierra's struggle

Some of the adventurers sat there, looking exhausted.

'Let's go home and report back.'

Reinhardt told everyone as he checked the area. But that was when the ground shook slightly. The ground shook slightly, and then it turned into something bigger and bigger, causing some of the adventurers to wobble and fall on their asses.

''What now!''

Daniel looked around, wary as he looked around.

'There's a horde of monsters coming!

One of the adventurers shouted that, and the situation changed rapidly. Several more Nootkelaine came down from the top of the hill.

'Oh come on, really? You just killed him!

Daniel looked disgusted. But the monsters weren't the only ones. An uncountable horde of them followed behind them.

'Orcs, Goblin Soldiers, Bone Soldiers, Poison Flies, Danger Rabbit.......Basilisk, Bison Soldiers, Wights, and then Nute Kellane.......................A-ranked to a B-ranked horde.

One adventurer just read out the names of the monsters that came into view.

'That's not all. Those flying over there are wyverns and cockatrices.'

Sierra stared at the four monsters circling above and unconsciously clutched her rapier.

'It can't be helped. Raid and Danielle, start with Nutkerene. The others are otherwise. I'll turn all of the adventurers and kingdom knights' strength to B-rank.''

What about you?

I'll take down the entire squad, see how it goes and join the fight.

No way. There's no way we can take on that many.

 One adventurer muttered in fright.

'Rest up if you're not up for it, I'll kill them all.

Glaring clearly and provoking the adventurers around him, the raid ran down the hill to Nutkelaine. The adventurers glared resentfully at the raid's back.

''You have a bad attitude, is that still a White King Knight?''

"He's a raider, even for a White King Knight.

Raid?

"Don't you know. The second captain of the Ash Clan, the Mad Flame Raid.

'Maditis? ...I don't know, why the mad flame?

"It's a good name for a bad boy. He doesn't take into account that when he fights, he's not going to let his magic fly all around him. It's literally 'Mad Flame'. So even White King's knights who wouldn't ordinarily know his name know his name in this country.

You mean, they don't like you?

Well, sort of.

It would be a shame to be an adventurer to let him take credit for your work.

Yeah.

As he said this, the adventurer became excited again. Daniel smiled with some kind of happy smile at that.

''That's so like him.''

''I don't need to understand it. Most importantly, you don't want the raid either.

Reinhardt, you've always been a coldhearted person. The same is true of the battle that led to his being censured as a mad flame. The raid was just an attempt to escape the surrounding knights. It's a good thing that you're not the only one who noticed the signs that the enemy used earth magic. I'm sure you'll be able to find a good deal more information on this. That guy's quick action saved hundreds of lives.

'I have no taste for meddling in other people's lives.

Reinhardt said, and ran off to the crowd of adventurers.
Daniel's expression was as dumbfounded as ever at the sight of him, and he followed the raid with a bitter smile.

Reinhardt looked up at the sky and looked at the turning wyvern.

''The Knight's True Armor, Chevalier de Cask--''

Reinhardt walks away, chanting as he mutters. A fluttering veil appears from both feet, and every time he lowers his feet, the sand and pebbles underneath his feet flow to avoid him.

'Sierra, put a stop to the wyvern,'

Eh....

Leaving a bewildered Sierra behind, Reinhardt runs off while chasing the wyvern in the sky above. A small magic circle appeared at the feet of the running Reinhardt. Using the magic circle as a springboard, Reinhardt flew high into the sky. The magic circle gave the effect of a leap.
Reinhardt's line of sight, it was already a wyvern's line of sight.
Reinhardt's right foot stagnating above, a magic circle appeared at the bottom of it. As it rose from the bottom of his shoe to his knees as it scanned, his right foot emitted a white aura. Reinhardt changed his stance and slammed his right foot into the wyvern. The Wyvern lost its balance and fell to the ground while screaming. Seeing the figure, Sierra understood Reinhardt's intentions and readied her rapier and ran to the point of falling.

''【The Great Blade of Ice (Ice Proagito)!

Then he aimed at the falling wyvern and stabbed the rapier with his momentum. At that moment, the wyvern let out a final scream and ice covered its entire body.

'Sierra, do what you can,'

Reinhardt swooped down to Sierra from above.

''You are a newcomer among the White King's Knights, there is no shame in that.

Yes.

Sierra was scared in front of a horde of monsters. She was ashamed of herself. Her heart showed on her face and Reinhardt noticed. Placing a hand on Sierra's shoulder, he said, "Don't go after it too hard," and ran to the battlefield.

Cedric had switched to a battle strategy of endurance. Monsters abounded on the ground. Wyverns and cockatrices flying in the sky. He had given up on the idea that it was not at a level he could handle.

I'm sorry, Cedric, but we're in danger of losing it. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to back off.

The adventurers are retreating one by one.

'Yes, it might be time to move on around here.

That's when I thought that. A man appeared, shouting Cedric's name. The man slipped through the fleeing adventurers and finally made it to Cedric's side.

'Yogi, what brings you here?'

Cedric, I'm not running anymore. I'll fight with you, just like the old days.

What are you talking about?

In Cedric's eyes, it looked like Yogi was just smiling noh-laughing at him.
When the two were new adventurers, they had been partying together. But gradually a sense of competence developed between the two. Yogi began to feel distant and stopped flirting with Cedric, surrounding himself with lower level adventurers and doing only the simplest of requests. And he became a drunkard who earned his day's money for the sake of drinking.

'I'm sorry about earlier. But now that I'm here, you can relax.

Cedric thought. 'This idiot is not only dumb, but he can't understand the situation,' he thought.

'Yogi, look around you.'

Hmm, what do you need?

'Our time is up. All we have to do now is leave it to the White King's knights to retreat. You, too, fall back.

Cedric. What are you talking about?

Yogi tilted his head. The look on his face made Cedric's patience wane.

'Look at this situation! Forget the A's. We're full of A's! We could have taken care of one of them, but this is a war! It's a war between monsters and humans! It's out of our hands....

So you want me to run with my tail between my legs?

It's a strategic retreat. Adventurers are not instruments of war, they are adventurers.

So I'm gonna stay.

What?

This is my adventure. I wasn't afraid of you back then, you know.

Yogi....

That's what I remember. Your words...

Yogi said, and ran unabashedly to the battlefield.

'Wait, Yogi!'

 Yogi didn't look back.

'Shit!'

Cedric had no choice but to follow. He knew it was a foolish move. He chose to fight even though he knew it was. Above all, he couldn't abandon Yogi.

 Sierra was confronting the basilisk.

''Ice Windstorm (Ice Weird)!

He stabbed the rapier repeatedly into the basilisk while blowing the blade of ice around him. But the blade didn't hit. In front of the snake, which easily avoids its own sword with intent, I remembered that scene when Masamune killed the basilisk in an instant.
He agonized over what he was doing when he was a white king knight and his opponent was a basilisk in one piece, and the more he agonized over it, the more disturbed his mind became and the more disturbed his sword muscles became. Sierra was in a vicious circle.

''Hey you, you're the White King Knight! Can't you do something about this situation!

It was Cedric who approached Sierra.

'I'm sorry. I don't........extend.

What do you think? You're a level above me in terms of magic? I could do one basilisk, even if it was just me.

Sierra didn't say anything back, she just kept swinging her rapier at the basilisk in front of her.

'It won't even hit you then.

I'm....

Well, I can't handle this monster horde by myself. So I'm going to need a tag team. Basilisks move fast, but it would be a little better if we had someone to block their movements.

Still, Sierra wielded her rapier. But it still didn't hit the basilisk.

''Okay ... let's form a party just for now.

Thank God. I don't want to die today.

Have you stopped being a gentleman?

 Yogi teases Cedric about it.
Cedric usually changed his tone of voice when he spoke to women. At first he did it intentionally, but then he realized that it had become a habit and he couldn't cure it.

'If you die here, I'll hate you for it.

Why do you hate me so much? You can run if you want, but I'm not going to mock you.

You can't tell me now...

'For that matter, include me in the party and I'll at least stop the basilisk from moving.

Are you really going to die?

That's when you'll need it. I'll take care of the guild when I'm dead, Cedric.

They gave a small smile. For a moment, it was nostalgic, like being back in the old days.

'Are you two done talking?'

'Oh, bad, bad. Yogi, let's stop the basilisk.

I'm on it.

Yogi crept around behind the basilisk and jumped onto its back with great vigor. Cedric then got behind him and held the basilisk's tail in check.

'Hey, sis! Hurry up and cut this thing off!

Yogi looks like he's about to be shaken off.

'Not my sister! It's Sierra!

'Whatever! For God's sake, make it quick! I don't think I'm going to have it anymore...

A rampaging basilisk. Rather, the movement was rougher than before. But the movement was slower than before, and Sierra didn't miss the moment. She caught the basilisk's movement and stabbed her rapier into the eye.

''Please step away!''

At Sierra's signal, the two jumped away from the basilisk.

''The Ice-Cold Wind Sword (Freeze Feather)!

Immediately after the chanting, ice blades and cold air erupted from inside the basilisk and the basilisk froze.

''Nice, sis! Let's keep it up next time!

Yogi was starting to get better after being finished off surprisingly easily.

'Don't let up,'

That's okay. I'm not taking it easy. I don't have the guts to let my guard down in this situation.

'Thank you both. I think I'm on to something.

With her instincts returning, Sierra was trying to regain her confidence. And when Yogi and Cedric subdued the basilisk again, he swung his sword as if his previous fears were a lie.

The battle was still going on in many places. In one place, an adventurer could be seen fighting a poison fly. Poisonflies are winged, long-bodied insects that look like dragonflies and flies divided by two.
At one point, one of the adventurers chops off the head of a Danger Rabbit with an axe. Danger Rabbit is a rabbit with horns, so to speak. The adventurers thought in their own way and fought the battle as best they could, steadily reducing the enemy. In the midst of all this, Sierra and the others had not been able to eradicate the Basilisk.
That was because the Bison Soldier had interrupted them. The Bison Soldier is a bipedal fighting bull that carries a great axe. Although it was the same A-ranked monster, it was no longer a basilisk.

''Let's do that one first. The Bison Soldier has power, but its movements are slow, and the three of us should be able to handle it.''

All right, I'll stop the axe. I'll stop the axe. Then you're going to do what you did before.

Cedric walked behind the bison soldier and grabbed his waist as Sierra wrapped her ice attribute magic around the rapier.

'Now! Do it!

But then the Bison Soldier, who had turned his attention to Cedric behind him, swung the axe he was holding at his own waist.

'Watch out!'

Sierra's cries are empty, and her axe catches Cedric in the faintest of glances.

''Guh!''

He seemed to have avoided a fatal wound, but Cedric was hit in the shoulder and his clothes were soaked with blood.

'Stand back, I'll do it,'

Cedric, supported by Yogi, moved away from the scene. Sierra faces the Bison Soldier one-on-one.
The Bison Soldier pulls out the axe stuck in his own waist as if nothing had happened.

''Why are you able to endure at that depth...''

The axe was deeply embedded in his flesh. A wound that would normally make him writhe in agony. But the Bison Soldier was completely unfazed. With a questioning and creepy look on her face, Sierra held her rapier at the ready.
The great axe and rapier collided, the axe freezing with each violent metallic sound. The ice traveled up to her arm and stopped the bison soldier from moving. Sierra doesn't miss a moment.

''It's over--''

Sierra stabbed him in the eye with a stab stance, and the Bison Soldier fell down, iced over.

'Quicksilver,'

Yogi is an admirer. But Yogi is not the only one. A large number of adventurers present cheered, including Cedric, who was healing his wounds with a recovery potion.

''--Lady! Watch out!

But then Sierra had a momentary window of opportunity. The cheers caught Sierra off guard.
Sierra turned around at the sound of Yogi's voice. But soon after, the wyvern's tail slammed into Sierra's torso. Sierra was sent wide and far away from there and fell to the ground scraping.
Dazed consciousness. Sierra was lying on her back, staring at the blurred sky.

''Hah ... hah ... hah ... pathetic.''

I exhaled roughly and a voice spilled out unexpectedly. Then I hear a voice above me calling Sierra's name.

'Sierra, you'll catch a cold if you sleep here,'

 It was a familiar voice.

'How dare you, Sierra! I will not allow it!

It was a familiar voice for Sierra. So she knew right away who it belonged to.
Sierra leaned up and looked up into their faces.

"Why did you come here...

There was Toa and Nem in there.
