61-1-Patrick Razhausen

A few days after we left Artemias, we arrived at this study house.

When we turned around to see the driver off, what we saw in front of us was a large gate with a delightfully carved mascot character-like design, and a huge theme park that could be seen beyond it.

The site is large and you can see a number of buildings just from here.
All of them are a joke with a lack of uniformity in their exteriors, and if I had to describe them in one word, they would be a rainbow of colors.
Every color was crammed into the castle-like structure.

'Is this really a school?'
'Yes, this is Heilkwaite,' Sierra seemed to know.
'It looks like fun!
I don't know, it's kind of scary, actually.

The gate opened of its own accord.
We let out a yelp and we stepped aside.

A blonde haired woman with a purple dress that accentuated her voluptuous style and a purple witch hat with a curved tip appeared at the opening gate.

'Welcome to the Heilkwaite Higher School of Magic. You must be the adventurers Arnold was talking about. I am the headmistress here, my name is Sabrina.

We greet each other by saying our names while surrendering to this suspicious atmosphere.

''Eh, principal!''

He looked so young I couldn't help but ask him.
He looks like he's in his early 20s.

'Surprisingly, even though I look like this, I've lived ten times as long as any of you.

Ten times as old as I am, which means I'm at least 100 years old.
 A veritable witch.

"You just had a rude thought, didn't you?
...Is it magic? I was frightened.
'No, it's a hunch. Huh, well then follow me and I'll show you to your dormitory.

It was as if he could see right through me.
It's a good thing she seems so kind, for a start.

This is your home from today.

Rather than a dormitory, it was a hotel suite.
It was packed with even more fantasy elements and, like the school's exterior, it was needlessly fancy. It just hurt my eyes.

'Arnold didn't say how many people we have, so this is the only room we have available. If you wish, I'll prepare enough for all of you, but.......
'I don't mind,' said Toa.
'Eh ...'
I'll be fine in the same room with you.
So is Nem.

 Aside from Nem, even Sierra.

'Yeah, are you sure?'
'We're going to travel together, so we'd better be together. Besides, your sister told me that's the way it is.

It seems that Hilda-san has blown something extra into the air again.
Did that man see this coming?
What on earth does he want to do?

''I've only heard about you guys as adventurers, so I've chosen the class on my own, but is that correct?
Yes, no problem.
That's good to know.

It doesn't matter where you learn about magic.
 No problem.

 A large classroom.

Inside was the so-called staircase classroom, with side-by-side seats in an arc leading down to the podium.

I was invited to line up in front of the podium as a transfer student while being looked at oddly.

The first thing you need to know is that you are all transfer students who will be learning magic together from today. So let's have you introduce yourself first. Then let's start with Sierra-san.

 It's like being exposed.
Some of them are interested, others are cheeky and unfaithful.
I had heard that this is an advanced school for witchcraft, but there seems to be a variety of students here.
 Sierra is as I'm told.

'My name is Sierra Ekarlert. I'm from Lasthausen.''
"And could you introduce me to your profession?" said a man who looked to be the class teacher.
'My occupation will be Senior Knight.'

Prompted by the teacher, the students greeted Sierra with applause.
And I could hear their mouths saying, "Even senior knights are amazing! You're beautiful." "You're with me! Praise such as.
 I'm delighted.
Sierra is welcome, because she's been welcomed.

 But it's a bad situation.
I can only see what happens when you say "I'm a healer by profession" in college.

'Nems are nems! I'm a cat wizard!
'What, Cat Wizard! The student in front of me jumped up.
''My God, Cat Wizard...''

The teacher was speechless with amazement and spoke enthusiastically of his awesomeness.
I didn't know it was such an influential profession.
Furthermore, I can see a number of students saying things like "cute" to Nem.

But the higher the expectations are raised, the more it's going to have the opposite effect on me.

''I'm Toatrica, and my profession is Paladin.

At that moment, a huge cheer erupted.
No........no more. My expectations are too high.

''Then the last one, please.

 It's a curious look.
 But the students are wrong.
Not everyone is blessed with a privileged life. I'm perfectly normal.

"My name is Nito. I'm a healer.

Impossible silence fell in the classroom.
Everyone was still, with a lingering smile on their faces.
It was so quiet that the classroom suddenly felt even larger than it already was.

'It's rude! He will not forgive you if you make a fool of your master! The master is awesome! Master is a horde of monsters...

He held his mouth and interrupted what Nem was about to say.

'Don't tell anyone,' he muttered in Nem's ear.
'.....' Nem nodded his head.
'That's the reality.'
''............................Then, everyone. They're going to be part of the class from now on, so please get along with them.

We got to our assigned seats, side by side, in order.
Sierra, Toa, Nem and I were on the aisle.
Maybe the three of us will get along just fine. We would make friends. More importantly, I'm sure all the students will be eager to talk to us.

I felt nostalgic for the chime that signaled the end of class.
In the past, that would have been the signal for the torment to begin, and I would have palpitated with the end.
I still do that a little bit.
The teacher also went back to the staff room, and the class was left with only the students.

'What kind of magic can Nem-chan do?'

 It began--

'Nem can't use magic yet. So ... if you don't mind, I'd like you to tell me.
Then I'll teach you!

Nem seems to be very popular.
There doesn't seem to be any discrimination against beastmen here.
Is that what happens when you're born wealthy?

''Are you good with a sword, Sierra-san? If you'd like, you could teach me about it sometime?
If it's okay with me....

The ladylike students were gathered around Sierra.
The likes of them must have called their friends.

''What kind of magic can you use, Toatrica-san?''
Just the Toa. Yeah, well it's a lot of things.

The Toa was indiscriminately attracting attention.
Was it the demonic charm that attracted him?

'What's the Healer doing here?'

Suddenly, one of the students muttered.
At that moment, the noisy classroom quieted down.

This is a school for mages. But you don't think a healer wants to become a mage, do you?
Hey, what do you mean by that?
"Toa, stop," I smiled, and he had to sit down.
"I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to the guy.

I had also heard that it was a school for the wealthy, with many aristocrats.
But maybe this society is the same everywhere.
There is always one or more of these people.

'Ignore them? It's just that they let their kids call them master and so on. Does that mean they don't have the same language as we do?

Even though Nem is just calling it what it is, there's no denying it.

The guy walked all the way to my seat.
And then he sat down on the desk and said, "Did you say Nito?

"Did you say Nito? What a funny name. You're from Picasso.

 I shouldn't have called myself a healer in a f*cking serious way.
I should have faked it with a disguise.

'I'll give you one piece of advice. Get out of the academy, this is no place for a weak man like you.
Well thanks for the advice. But what have you got?

 He grinned.

'Huh? You don't need to ask me. I'm not a healer, and I'm not a commoner.
A nobleman, and a good one at that.
'What are you confused about? I'm not a nobleman.

He's a guy who says it's too good to be true.

My name is Patrick Lasthausen. I'm royalty--
