5-One month later

The sun touched the ocean and the sky turned red.

I dipped into the pool and let out a breath of relief as I gazed blankly at such a fantastic scene. Feeling the cool breeze in the warm water, it felt good.

The pool I saw on my camera was a heated pool. There are two buildings to take a shower in, and since both were always equipped with shampoo and body soap, I cleaned up there and relaxed in the heated pool instead of taking a bath.

While I was watching the sunset, a flock of small wyverns came into view. According to data, small wyverns less than ten years old act in herds that can number in the dozens and hunt by force of numbers.

Even though they are small, they have a wing span of more than two meters, so they are ridiculously large if you look at them in the same way as birds, though.

When I heard that there were dozens of small dragons, I was a bit nervous at first, but recently I've started to see them more often, so I've calmed down.

The herd of wyverns is closing in on me, but I just stay in the pool and watch.

The distance is almost at hand.

But the moment the wyvern flock reaches the air island, it hits an invisible wall and is sent flying.

In a space where there is supposed to be nothing, a number of ripples of white lines spread out, staining the sky a pale white.

 It is a defensive ward.

From what I've found out, they're supposed to be able to withstand at least one breath of the highest level of dragons. In other words, the warding alone is able to protect against most attacks.

If a group of large dragons attacked, it would seem to be a bad idea, but it wouldn't even crack a young wyvern with a danger level of C or lower.

I watched the wyvern that collided with some of the momentum built up too much and fell into the sea with a goofy look, and I let out a sigh.

''I'm ... bored.''

Honestly, I got tired of exploring the castle after two weeks. I got tired of lounging around reading comics and playing games after a week.

''I'm ... or rather, I miss it.''

 He blurts out.

I'm not sentimental about the setting sun. Truly, the words overflow from the bottom of my heart.

I leave the pool, throw on a bathrobe and head back to the castle. I'm dressed in the most self-defeating way possible, but there's no one there anyway.

I went up to the fifth floor and touched the screen of the touch display. From among the items, I select the word Distant Reconnaissance.

The screen on all four sides showed only the sea, and the scenery changed at a fluid pace.

For the past three weeks, I've been using this feature regularly to explore my surroundings, but I've never been able to get to land.

The flying island itself, on which this castle in the sky is located, has an adjustable speed of up to 100 km/h. It is much slower than an airplane.

It's much slower than an airplane, but it's still a hundred kilometers an hour. It would take two days to traverse Japan.

We didn't know how to change the speed at first, so we had to, but we still had to change it to 100 km/h for a week. If a day is twenty-four hours, it's two thousand four hundred kilometers in one day.

Why can't I see land when I'm going nearly seventeen thousand kilometers in one direction in a week?

Isn't this a world where there is nothing but the sea?

It's possible... this angel looked like a natural idiot.

I kept looking at the screen, almost crushed by anxiety.

Then I squinted at something that I could see dimly on the screen.

''Hmm...?''

As I strained my eyes, I saw what appeared to be land, faintly on the horizon.

''Holy shit!''

The chair stood up with such force that it collapsed, and I couldn't help but let out a strange cry.

On the screen, the land gradually grows larger and the shadow of what looks like a mountain in the background becomes clearer.

There's no doubt about it. It's real. The proper land is reflected in the screen.

'Please! Don't give me that uninhabited island shit! I don't care if he's a mushy old man!

I put my hands together and worshiped while running my mouth about such nonsense.

Words like "what if it's a caveman who says woo hoo hoo" or something like that flashed through my mind, but I decided not to think about it.

After a while, the images finally became clear enough that I could almost see what was happening on the ground.

Apparently, the sea side is a gouged out shore cliff. There seems to be a considerable difference in elevation from sea level.

In the distance, there seems to be a series of mountains with pointed tops, and so far we can't see the city.

All I can see are cliffs, forests and mountains.

I wonder if there are any boats.

I look at the screen with a hole in my heart while muttering to myself about it.

Since I've been living alone longer, I've been talking to myself more and more, but for the past three weeks I've been talking to myself all the time.

It's a bad effect of loneliness.

While I was thinking about such a trivial matter, I found something on the cliff.

As I got closer and closer, I realized that it was an artifact.

It was a square box-shaped object. It appeared to have a large ring on the side.

 Ah, there's a horse.

'It's a carriage!'

I jumped up and down in joy. A discovery of civilization. I'll put it in my diary.

I was so excited that I got up and approached the screen to observe the carriage.

Hmmm, that carriage would be pretty big if the horses weren't so small. The carriage itself is a bit plain, but it appears to be of a solid construction.

And then I saw the horse lying down in the screen. Since the image was taken from an angle, it was difficult to judge.

'Do horses sleep like dogs like that?'

Is it not a horse, after all, but a horse-like creature from another world?

As I was thinking about this, a horse came running from the forest. There was a man on top.

''Oh! He's in armor! Cool!

I raised my voice, clapping at the screen. On the other side of the carriage are three horses and three knights mounted on them. They were in magnificent silvery armor. They are also holding swords in their hands.

It's like a scene out of a movie.

While I was observing the scene as if I were watching an interesting spectacle, a person jumped out of the side of the carriage this time.

The plain brown skirt fluttered around, so it could be a woman. Shaking her long, eye-popping red hair, the woman runs along the edge of the cliff.

It's a scene often seen in movies. The beautiful woman who runs on the beach. It is a good image.

It is a little bit of a problem that we are on a cliff.

He chuckled, then crossed his arms and watched.

But it bothered me that the woman was more serious about running than I thought.

'That's a thing. It's the don't run when I ran into an exposed maniac in early spring. No doubt about it.

 So, those knights are perverts?

As I was thinking about such a stupid thing, a woman who had reached the edge of the cliff turned around behind me. The knights with swords at the ready dismounted from their horses and walked towards the woman in a jittery manner.

''........Oh?''

I tilted my head and stared at the screen as it unfolded in a different way than I had imagined. The camera was already very close to the land, and I could feel the atmosphere of the place through the images.

This composition and situation I've seen somewhere.

''It's a fire-sus!

Fire suspense theater...! It's always a royal mystery where the killer is trapped on a cliff and dies or lives.

And this video looks exactly like that fire sass.

'The first villager is going to die!

I rushed back to the touch display.
