112-Gray conflict

Neither the Baron nor the man in armor said anything at all, but the rumor that the Barons had been taken away from their highest-ranking slaves because of Tiki's robots descending on King's Landing had spread quickly.

It reached the ears of Grey and the others working to free the slaves, and a discussion was held within the organization.

A dimly lit room. There are only two alcohol lamps and the faces of those sitting on the chairs cannot be clearly discerned.

In such a situation, one of them opens his mouth to Grey.

''Are you sure you can trust that store? After all, slaves are slaves, aren't they?

The question was voiced by the others.

'Yes, we did. We were supposed to be freeing the slaves as our ultimate goal.

You say the store is run by the same royalty we all hate.

Grey let out a shallow breath as he heard the anger in his voice.

''Well I don't know either. But that store doesn't seem to be like any other. What's astonishing is that when the slaves sold in that shop don't get a minimal living, the golems waiting in the shop go to recapture them.

"Stupid,

'There's no way you can do that. You don't know what a slave's situation is, and even if you did, the only people who could afford those unusually expensive slaves would be the nobility.

Gray's dialogue is met with murmurs and denials from those around him. But Gray shakes his head from side to side.

'It actually happened while I was there. An unfamiliar sound rang out, and suddenly the golem took off. I managed to follow it, but I lost it in the city. Afterwards, I heard from an eyewitness that they had apparently raided the mansion in the nobleman's district without any further incident and taken away five slaves.

You broke into a nobleman's mansion...?

I've heard the stories, but I've also heard that they're not true.

'Some say it's a rumour spread by the barons. The flying golem has been witnessed by many different people. There were many rumors circulating that the Barons were secretly in cahoots with the Celestial State, or that the Barons had incurred the wrath of the Celestial State.

In response to what Gray had told them, the others recounted the rumors they had heard. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door of the room and a voice called out from outside.

'Grey.'

 It was a woman's voice.

Hearing the voice, they all turned to the door.

'Katerina?'

Gray calls out the name of the owner of the voice and tells him to go inside, and then he opens the door to reveal a girl with golden hair.

Her eyes shoot straight through the eyes of the men in the room and finally stop at Gray's face. Cold, emotionless eyes. The others freeze, gasping at Katerina's blinding beauty and her doll-like expression.

But Gray looks back into Katerina's eyes with no particularly pressurized wind.

'Just as well. I'd like you to tell me how the nobles think.

When Gray cut that out and told her about the baronial family, Katerina made a pretense of thinking with a slight shift in her gaze.

 Then, she opens her mouth.

''........I don't want to be noticed by the king of my country and his slave-shop, so I want to solve the situation without getting in trouble with the slave-shop. However, I don't want to ruin the family's rank and reputation. But if the slave-shop side isn't talking about the good reputation of the baronial family and so on, then probably the only one who is scrambling is the baronial family. Completely, it means that the slave-shop side is superior in rank.

They all blinked at Katerina, who assured them rather than predicted, and Gray lifted the corners of his mouth.

'I see. Judging from the reaction of the clerks when they saw the slaves returning to the shop, they were probably right in their thinking. Aside from the slaves, the shopkeepers all seemed to be angry at the barons, but they didn't feel fear. Under normal circumstances, the retaliation of the nobles would be more terrifying than anything else.

The others nodded to each other in admiration as they listened to Katerina and Gray's speculation.

And Gray turned to Katerina and opened his mouth.

'Speaking of which, you're here for something. 'It's unusual for Katerina to show her face.'

When I call out to her, Katerina pulls her chin in a blank expression.

'The flying golems are making a lot of noise as they descend on the entrance. Those who can fight are surrounding the golem, so I've come to call for Grey.

What?

At Katerina's words, those in the room got up hurriedly and ran towards the direction where the golem had appeared.

''Ha, tell me quickly!''

After saying that much to Katerina, Gray also quickly left the room.

Katerina, who followed the back of him with her eyes, let out a sigh with a cold expression.

And if you're selling high-class slaves, the Greys who are going after the nobles they sell to.......

Katerina muttered this to no one, and then dropped her gaze and let out a thin breath.

'There's no room for negotiation, is there?
