13-13 "Scary smile"

Wraith walked the way to the shop as he was used to it. Although he was often lost when he first arrived in the royal capital, he could remember it after a certain amount of time. It's only to the extent that Wraith has visited the area.

''Although, I don't want to go there too much, but...''

This is the residence of the nobility near the castle. I had no choice but to stop by once, but I didn't like the atmosphere. I'm not going to be able to get close to them.

It's a good idea to have a good idea of what to expect when you come to the capital. I'm sure you'll be able to find the right one. It's a very good idea to have a good idea of what you're looking for.

I'm not going to be able to get a good idea of what I'm talking about. A small girl with a big smile on her face was greeting customers at the counter with a smile.

--Yes, that Daisy, who usually doesn't even try to hide her grumpiness and dissatisfaction with the Wraith, is answering the customers with a 'smile'.

It's a very good idea to be able to have a good time with them.

She stopped at the entrance of the store and looked twice at the counter.

''Nah, I see, no wonder it's thriving.

If only she could hide her stinging attitude, Daisy would look like a pretty girl. She has crystal clear blue hair and hollow, charming eyes. Her small lips are beautifully curved, making an innocent smile.

Among the people who visit the store, there are probably not a few who are there for her smile. She is much more worldly than Lace.

She was surprised at how different she was from the usual Daisy, but she couldn't stay standing at the entrance forever, so Wraith began to look around at the materials.

Wraith had been in this store many times before, but this was the first time he had taken the time to look at the products as a customer. Even though all of the products were familiar to him, he was intrigued.

''Oh, this........''

What caught Wraith's eye was a superlative potion.
Considering Daisy's ability, it was a moderately strong piece of work.

Wraith's expression tightened as he looked at the price while admiring it.

''Normally I don't mind because I'm on the selling side, but when I'm on the buying side, it seems pretty expensive...''

Wraith is a bit of a small fortune in elixir-related requests, but that doesn't mean his common sense has disappeared. He gently placed the potion in his hand back on the shelf.

''I mean, when I look at it like this, the selection is pretty good.

There is a wide range of products available, including materials necessary for alchemy and potions for finished products. Perhaps this is also the reason for its prosperity. Wraith walked over to the counter with the materials he needed, thinking that it would be interesting to have his own shop someday.

Daisy looked at Wraith's face and a scowl appeared on her face. Apparently, she hadn't noticed Wraith.

'Oh, come in,'
Yeah. You seem to be doing pretty well.
You're welcome.

Most of the guests seemed to have finished their business and left while Lace was selecting the materials, giving Daisy time to make conversation.

'It's unusual for you to come in when it's not even the day of your request.
Well, sometimes. We were just short on material, and I just thought I'd do what I could to replenish it here.
I see.

Daisy responds disinterestedly as she calculates the cost of the material Wraith offered her. I'm tempted to say that the person who waved off the conversation is acting like that, but this response to Lace isn't the first time I've heard of this response to Lace.

'Come to think of it, I heard you had a tough time. What about the Elixir because you helped people and all that.
'You knew...'
'I hear a lot of stories from customers, so I hear a lot of things. Especially since your story is pretty widespread.

The Wraith's rumors are still running around the royal capital at present. This was something that Wraith had been prepared for, so he wouldn't panic now.

''........Well, I've managed it now, so don't worry about it.''
Yeah, I wouldn't mind that in the first place.
Are you sure?

Wraith thinks inwardly that he should be a little more worried, and so on. For a man with a clear expression, he is a man who thinks about small things.

''Yes, your payment is just two gold coins. Thank you for your purchase.

He finished his calculations while he was talking. Daisy handed the material to Wraith with a big smile that she had just seen just now.

'What a tremendous discrepancy between your customer service and your normal demeanor... I'm getting a bit of goosebumps...'
You're in business, you're supposed to be friendly. And what do you mean by 'goosebumps'?

Daisy maintains a big smile and applies silent pressure. Wraith gets out of trouble by replying like a rusty doll with a nandemonious death.

'Come to think of it, how is it that you're so amiable when you're doing business, but you're treated as a bit of an eccentric in the Adventurer's Guild?

Wraith was about to accept Daisy's request when Amelia stopped her. If you're this affectionate, you wouldn't have that kind of reputation.

''Well maybe some of the adventurers who failed to accept my request are saying the right things.

Daisy looked away and blurted out in an unusually sullen manner. Wraith looked at her and figured out the situation.

Perhaps she treated the other adventurers in the same manner as Wraith did. Being close in age and friendly, Wraith didn't particularly mind, but that meant the others were different.

So a theory suddenly stands in Lace's mind.

Could it be that I was the only friend of Daisy's...?

Considering Daisy's usual twerking demeanor, that's enough.

'Don't worry, I'll always be your only friend!
'Can you not say something creepy all of a sudden...'

Daisy's trash-eyed stare stabbed at Wraith like a blade. The Wraith staggered on the spot, vomiting blood in her imagination, and her body wobbled on the spot.

'Oh, by the way, those two adventurers you rescued, I heard they were attacked by a demon in a strange place.
Hmm, is that so?

Wraith snapped his body to a stop, which was making him wobble like a ghost.

''They said this was a place where there had never been a sighting of a demon before.
That's bad luck again.

The wound on the adventurer girl's back was corroded and poisoned. There are many demons that have poison, but not many that can corrode the wounds of the person they hurt. Either the demons belonged to the undead system or they carried a special weapon, the two possibilities would be the main ones.

Undead-type demons are a bit more special, so it's rare to encounter them. Since they are demons, though, they are still dangerous.

Whatever it is, it's a weird thing to do.

As for the conditions for the occurrence of demons, the details are not yet known. So, it is not clear why the demons occur, but it is said that they often exist in places where the magic power in the air is strong.

However, there are exceptions to the rule, and demons sometimes appear out of the blue, as in this case. It's an annoying story for humans. It's just that Wraith had to be driven out of his home because of this.

In the meantime, you should be careful if you ever go outside the capital.
Yeah, I'll keep that in mind.

I'm not sure if there will be any opportunities for the Wraith to get out of King's Landing, though. If it's a warning, it would be more useful to tell Raffy and the others who are proper adventurers.

'Well then, thanks for the day.
Yeah.

With the bag, which was now heavy with zuzuri, firmly in place, Wraith walked away from the store.
