　ただその大半が崖や山であり、未開拓地の森が広がっているために、人族が住める環境ではないと補足説明が入った。

　地図をみると東に目を向ければ公国ブランジュ、北東には迷宮国家都市グランドルがあり、北に聖シュルール協和国が分かる。
　その三国との貿易で外貨を稼いでいることも説明を受ける。

　地図の西側は山脈があり、そこを越えると海が広がっていると伝えられている。
　だがそれを確認したものがいないために、空白地帯とっていた。


　そんなイエニスに暮らす住人の資金源だが、これは圧倒的に冒険者相手の商いが多いらしい。
　何でも未開拓地に入り珍しい魔物を狩ってきたりもする為、グランドルの次に冒険者が活動しやすいと言われているらしいのだ。
　それ以外では畑で汗を流すか、自らが冒険者になるか、才があれば何処かのギルドに登録しているらしい。

　食糧事情は、畑で育てているのは自分達が食べる麦が多く、それ以外では外貨を稼ぐ為にハーブや唐辛子といった香辛料を育てるのが一般的らしく、気候のおかげか良く育つし量も取れるので、輸出品としても安定供給出来ているとのこと。
　イエニスでは獣人だからということは関係ないと思うが、野菜を食べる文化はあまり進んでおらず魔物の肉を中心に好んで食べているところまで聞いた。

　次に現在行っている政策だが酷かった。
　大半が冒険者を誘致することや香辛料の栽培方法についてで、住民の暮らしをどう良くしていくかについての話は一切されていなかったのである。

　俺は羊皮紙に要点や問題点、気になった点を書き出して、これからの一年間は色々と苦労するだろと溜息を吐くのだった。
