90 Episode 89: Inside of the Alliance

Someone once told me to drink but not to be drunk, and I think that's the most important adage of all. From the clothes that barely fit Louisa's large breasts, I'd like to make a fine play for Igarashi-san to follow through on the fact that she tried to take them off a little bit and it was a big deal.

Yes, I don't feel sorry for him by any means. However, when you suddenly leave the crowded seat, you feel a sense of loneliness - I've become completely accustomed to my current environment.

(I don't dislike drinking, but I had more to worry about... I still need to be attentive, but I'm still more at ease than that.)

I walk down the corridor to get a breeze outside for once, since it's not like I'm waiting outside - and then I find a doorway to the garden, as the restaurant seems to have seating for dining with a view of the courtyard.

I somehow get closer and immediately notice it. Just outside of the garden, someone is talking to each other. Apparently, two men are talking.

'How much longer does Rolando have to take the promotion exam?'
''You said that in the next search, that guy's cumulative contribution would clear the target value. I don't know of any other explorer who's saved this much from 'crab hunting' alone.

Eavesdropping is not a good thing, but it's a valuable opportunity to learn the inner workings of the 'Alliance for Freedom (Beyond Liberty)' - I try to make as little noise as possible and hold my breath while paying attention to my surroundings so that I can leave the place at any time.

"Well, I suppose it's a method... even if more than one 'crab' springs up, as long as we have three parties watching for them, we can safely hunt them wherever they appear.
'And you're still going to pull us all up after Rolando's party goes up to the Sixth Ward? It would have been more efficient to search in the Sixth Ward.
'It was originally just Rolando and Daniela and her husband and wife, so it's up to those two to decide what happens. But I don't like the way that guy seems to be meddling in policy.
Oh, Gray....he's so good at getting in people's faces that it's not even a 'job'. He's moved into the first party and he doesn't tell us what's going on. What the f*ck is going on?

A man with a wild voice and a man with a skinhead and a tattoo on his shoulder, with an air of how rough he is. As far as the story goes, they belong to the second or lower of the multiple parties that make up the 'alliance'.

The first thing that comes to mind is the fact that there are people everywhere who are good at walking in the world. But in his case, he has some skill....?
The 'black clothes' is a job for people like that, I suppose. I suppose that means you need to have a certain amount of prowess as well.

Dressed in black - I imagine a strong man in a suit, but does that mean it's an acceptable profession in the labyrinth country?

''And yet what is it about the attitude of the female members who are spoken to by that guy that makes them soften? We've got a bunch of women at the same table today, and no one's going to argue with that.
"It's that kind of work, but I can't justify it by saying that I'm jealous of men. I'll have to keep an eye on Gray's behavior, but...

I don't know if Gray has those skills or if he's just a skilled talker, but if his skills have any positive effect on hitting on women, that's a problem. Listening to them, I can't deny that line of thinking - I'm not going to let them get into a situation where they can pull out our members, but we need to be vigilant about contact from the other side.

Be that as it may, I would like to take this opportunity to ask about their current situation. The 'Beach of the Falling Sun' where the 'Alliance' has monopolized the hunting grounds is a three-star labyrinth, so our contribution is still not enough for us to be able to enter it, but it will eventually be possible to break in, so we want to get information about it.

''Well, whether you cry or laugh, we'll reach our goal in the day after tomorrow at the earliest.
Even though we've been overly cautious and safe, I'm surprised it took you so long to go from a single 'crab' to a contribution of 60.
"When you hunt for 50 'crabs', it leaves a few days for them to come back. Even though there are 'fish', since we've been sitting there, they've not come near the beach since we started sitting there... that's the good and bad of this strategy.
Even a crab will cut off one of your fingers if you're not careful. The spider and mantis are even more difficult to deal with than a spider or a mantis. Even a mole and a beetle can be sent to the medical center for a full recovery in ten days if you're not careful.

Moles lurking on the ground, flying beetles in the sky. We worked together to defeat the monsters we encountered, but they were certainly more than a little worn out with each battle.

As everyone in the Four Seasons has said, the spider and mantis are quite troublesome demons. If there is an advantage to defeating them, it's worth a shot, but when you hear that the Crab is easy to hunt, you might want to try fighting it first.

However, there's one thing that's stuck in my mind. Were the labyrinths I've seen so raw and easy to use that such methods would work? It seemed that such an idea wasn't absent from them either.

''But........what guarantee do you have that you can reliably defeat the 'named' of the promotion conditions?'''
There's no such thing. ''If you've been in the seventh district long enough, you're bound to run into some names that you can beat by luck. Only those who grab them by luck or skill will be able to move up. We'll be counted in the number of 'named' kills just by being there, too. If we run away here, it won't amount to anything.
"That's the guy, but yeah, I get it. Don't look at me like that, I'm not getting off here either. If our party is on its own, we'll never get to the Sixth Ward. The contribution of the handouts will earn you a lot of money........hmm?
Time to wrap it up. Grey's guy, you're using Basel as an errand boy...

(..........this is not good, if it continues like this, it will be caught from the front and back.......!

Two men come into the hallway from the courtyard, and someone named Basel comes to call them from the room where the Alliance for Freedom is eating. I'm too focused on listening to them, so I can't find a place to hide on the spur of the moment.

--should we pass each other with the face of a chance encounter? When I thought about it, something unexpected happened.

   ◆Current Situation ◆

Melissa activates the "Cat Petting Voice" → Cancel the actions of Rodney and Chen.

Meow.
What is it, cat?
'It's a pet-friendly place for guards. Maybe another party is bringing them along.

The attention of the two people who were about to come into the corridor from the courtyard is distracted - when I confirmed that Melissa was coming nearby with my license, it occurred to me that I had a skill that could be used for emergency escape.

   Current Situation

Aricht activates Backstand → Target: Melissa

After a momentary lapse in consciousness, the back of a girl with lightly pigmented hair pops into view. It seems that the 'Backstand' was successful.

''Huh ... I was surprised. I'm suddenly going out the back.''

Melissa turns around and says in a whisper - apparently she came with Anna to find me, but how did she know I was in trouble?

'I have just leveled up and acquired the skill of 'warfare eye'. That's how I was able to see that Aricht-san was in a predicament.
I guess that's what you mean... 'tennis player', so it's like a skill to read the flow of a match.

Anna nodded her head in a persistent way. Then we retreated to our own private rooms, watching from a distance as the members of the 'alliance' joined us.

'Rear-kun, sorry to keep you waiting.......what's the matter, you look like you're sweating.
'What can I say, I've gone a little too deep, but... a member of the 'Alliance' was standing around talking to me, and I wanted to get some information if I could.'
..........

Teresia, who has completely finished the food on the table, walks over to me and wipes my sweat off my face. Since I'm not suited for something like espionage, I'd ask Theresia to do it if possible - but I don't think it's easy to make her do something like that because she'll listen to any request I make.

''..........''
What's the matter? Theresa.
I'm asking you to step aside. You can take me anywhere you want.
Is that so...?

Melissa can sense what Theresa is thinking more than everyone else - maybe it's because Melissa has her mother's blood, a sub-human, in her veins.

That kind of restraint is what you might be told you don't have to do.

Theresia nodded her head in a persistent nod. Seeing that clear answer, everyone laughed as well.

...It can be frustrating to watch, shall we say.........................Hiccup.
'Louisa, you need to drink some more water I'm feeling much calmer, but I had a hard time earlier trying to take my clothes off anyway.
''I think it's time to open it up and let him rest. Louisa-san, are you in the guild staff dormitory?
No I am in charge of Atube's group and will be living with them in their quarters. .....
It means you have a room in the same building as Louisa, right? I'm sorry, I know you're still a little tipsy, but I'll put a map on your license.

Louisa-san was resting on a round chair, resting her upper body on Igarashi-san who was sitting next to her, but when I took my license, she managed to manipulate it to show me the location.

And now, on your sweet terrace...
"Sweet Terrace?
'Isn't that the Terrace House kind of thing? I'll have to go there to find out.

If Misaki was right, then this is the type of property where the property is separated by a wall and the houses are arranged in the same shape.

'If you experience 'Mrs. Olerus Mansion' in the Eighth Ward, the quarters in the Seventh Ward may seem a bit cramped, but if it's a suite terrace, it's quite spacious.
Well, we're the condo type, and we have two rooms for two people. We can all live together on the Sweet Terrace, can't we?
'We have to work hard and try to get to the other quarters. Now that I've been able to work with Dr. Alihit and the others, we can move on.
I'd like to visit you when I have time.

Even though the Four Seasons' faces are using a higher level guild, their quarters don't seem to be on par with ours. I remember the days when the party members were just me, Theresia and Igarashi-san. Even back then, though, the room was more than enough room.

''So...sorry to say that I just got you back, Rear-kun, but...''

Louisa, who had managed to get her head around the wheel a while ago, is still not going to make it.

Well, I'll carry it out myself. Louisa, would you mind?
...Yes~........
Maybe you could get your brother to give you a piggyback ride or something, Louisa-san, you didn't see this coming?
Louisa-san wouldn't think that way... would she?
Wow, I don't know if I'm the one to ask but by the looks of it, it looks like it's really crushed. I think the drink was thicker than I thought.

Igarashi-san is troubled when Suzuna asks her about it - Louisa-san, in fact, is completely deflated and says something muffled, but I can't hear her well. From the looks of it, she appears to be normally drunk.

''By the way ... ah, this looks fine.
''I'm afraid I'm afraid... hmmm...''

While everyone is looking at me with something envious, I carry Louisa-san on my back - it's not that heavy, but I can feel the texture of her arms around the back of my thighs and, most importantly, her back, which makes me feel like I'm going to stop moving.

Ryoko, sister Ryoko you shouldn't say things like that even if you think you are.
Arihito-sensei, you're a man after all.......and you lifted him up so lightly.
'It's dependable. I understand why the maples call him 'brother.'
Are you guys ready? Make sure you don't forget anything or anything Madoka, I'm sorry, but can you take care of the bill for me?
Yes, brother Aricht.

I firmly carried Louisa-san and left the shop. The 'Alliance' also said that they were going to close up, but I could still hear the buzz of activity, perhaps because of the extension - I should say that it's a blessing that we didn't get potted together.
