6 What does the Demon King do?

The silvery-white sphere, slightly larger than the softball in the freezer, was chilled to the bone.

I don't remember ever putting such a sphere in the freezer. Or rather, I don't even remember possessing such a sphere. Therefore, I presumed that this was probably a [True Core].

If this was taken away, I would lose my control area, right?

What happens to a demon king who is deprived of his dominion? Are you dying?

There's so much we don't know about this changed world.

How could something so important be stored in the freezer in the first place!

What? Does it need to be frozen? Does it melt at room temperature?

There's a lot of work to do.

I feel like I have a pile of untouched homework in front of me.

I want to let it all go. I want to escape from reality.

In a way, we are trying to escape further in a world where we have escaped from reality.

Time passes, but the problem is not solved.

If what the mastermind says is true - and it probably is - then I have a month to prepare.

Whether that time is long or short, I can't even decide.

I decided to start with the problem of BP allocation.

 I had 3 BPs left.

It's like a lie that I was so excited about having 20 just a few minutes ago.

First of all, I remembered the situation where I allocated BP to the training.

There was no flaw in the smartphone. All the touches were responsive, I assume.

The first touch did not change the value of the smelting. On the second touch, the value of the smelting changed from 【E】 to 【D】.

This meant that the BP needed to change from 【E】 to 【D】 was 2.

Next, I double-tapped, and after three touches, the value of the smelting changed from 【D】 to 【C】.

In other words, the BP needed to change from [D] to [C] would be 5.

In the end, I got burned out and hit the 【Renewal】 item in succession. I don't remember the number. But my current holding BP is 3. I had 20 at first, so I've spent 17.

The BP needed to change from 【E】 to 【C】 is 2+5, which is 7. So, working backwards, the BP needed to change the smelting from 【C】 to 【B】 in 17-7 would be 10.

Considering the points consumed, the points consumed from [C] to [B] are hard.

If only I had realized this specification from the beginning...

My original plan was to split BPs to specialize in 【Smelting】 and 【Creation】.

The reason for this is that after spinning various stories (simulations) based on the information I was given, I realized the possibility that the Demon King - in other words, I would not be able to leave the dominant realm.

In order to survive in this world, I have to be strong.

So how do I become strong? An apprenticeship? You can't do that in a month. Strength training? This is also a lot to ask for in a month.

The answer is to raise the level.

The concept of [Level] was born in this changed world.

And how do I raise the level?

The answer is to defeat the enemy.

Who is the enemy? For the time being, he's a [Rowe] person. Because the mastermind says that he's going to attack us to death.

 One important element arises here.

In this world that has been transformed, the concept of a level was born.

Would this concept only apply to [Chaos]? No, if you're aiming for an antagonistic struggle, it would apply to [Rowe] as well.

That would mean that the people of 【Lowe】 would also increase in level. In other words, even if we were to defeat the enemy - 【Lowe】 people, we would have to defeat them early - before their level rose.

There are two ways to do that.

The first is the first move. One month later. While the people of 【Lowe】 are confused by the mastermind telling them the truth, we'll attack them from here.

The second is to defeat the [Lowe] people who invaded the controlled territory.

The method with the highest success rate would be the former. If we could attack on the first day, the level of the 【Rowe】 human would definitely be 1. The more confused they are, the better their chances of winning.

Guilt? It's not because I'm a demon king! But it would be more accurate to say that I lost it. At the same time I lost the memory of people other than myself, I also lost my feelings for them.

Love, gratitude, righteousness and humanity. I understand it in words, but now I have no one to whom I can direct those feelings. I have lost my memory of every one of those emotions.

As I spun that story, a few words from the mastermind stuck with me.

One is that the point of increasing the area of control is subordination.

The other was the words, ''If you are taken away by [Chaos], you will lose the control realm itself.

He said that the mastermind was the humanity of [Rowe], the humanity of [Chaos], but only that explanation said only [Chaos].

In other words, the Demon King can't directly take away the [True Core]?

That's what came to mind, and I asked a question at Special Service*.

 The answer is bingo.

Then the only way to level up would be the latter - defeating the [Rowe] people who invaded the dominant territory. That would be the only method.

 That's where one concern arose.

The number of Demon Kings was one million.

Even though it's 0.02% of the world's population, it's one in five thousand.

The population of Japan is 80 million. The population of Kanazawa City is ... 300,000, I think.

That means there are 60 Demon Kings in Kanazawa City alone.

 Let's say it's too many.

Kanazawa City is 467.8km2 in size, 23.3km east-west, and 23.3km north-south. It's 23.3km east to west and 37.3km north to south.

How do I know so much about this city? Because I got my Kanazawa City Test to join the conversation! Effect...? Haha. My attribute is solitary (botch).

Well, I digress. I'm not sure if I can use a car, but it's possible to cross the city in less than an hour.

There are an estimated 60 Demon Kings in Kanazawa City.

Which area of control will the [Rowe] people attack from? There are an estimated 60 options.

Leave it to luck? So what happens when it's the last one? We are level 1 and they are all higher than us. Defeat is inevitable.

In other words, we need a mechanism to bring in [Rowe] people from here.

So I recalled the various references (light novels) that I had input into my brain.

There wasn't a perfect match, but there were a few references that were similar.

I'm a demon king. And the dominant domain is a dungeon in a sense. The people of [Rowe] are, for the most part, either heroes or adventurers.

What do brave people and adventurers want from dungeons...?

One is the honor of defeating the Demon King.

And the other - the treasure.

Yes! In that dungeon lies a powerful weapon! If a rumor spreads, won't the people of [Rowe] come to my area of control?

Being targeted is a big disadvantage. However, if we are going to be attacked eventually, the sooner the better. I want to antagonize them before they grow up to be skilled and brave. And I want to defeat them and use them as food for leveling up.

Sooner or later, the [Chaos] will also fight each other. If that's the case, let's aim to be the best Demon King in Kanazawa City first!

That's why I specialized in [smelting].

I lured people from 【Lowe】 to create their own treasures.

Furthermore, as a byproduct, I can strengthen myself with equipment.

It's exactly two birds with one stone.

Not necessarily, but........the heroes who were leveled but equipped with the initial equipment, and the heroes who were low level but equipped with the final equipment. If these two fight, there is a possibility that they could be evenly matched.

With such faint hopes in mind, I waved BP to 【Renewal】.

However, it was too much. Against my will, but I poured too much BP into 【Renewal】.

Even if I lured a [Rowe] person out, it would be meaningless if I couldn't win.

Normally, I would have wanted to strengthen my physical body a little bit as well, but I allocated two of the three remaining points to [Creation].

I was anxious to see if all of the items would grow with the same BP, but 【Creation】 had successfully grown from 【E】 to 【D】, and I was relieved.
