150 Information gathering

The day after my first successful attempt at ruling, I gather information from various sources.

I gathered information from various media and analyzed it.

A map of Ishikawa Prefecture with a lot of information written on it. According to the map that was created based on the information Maple had collected and the information gathered from the internet, there were no threatening demon kings north of my current control area. Even the most powerful Demon King controls 13 control areas around Nanao City.

I wouldn't say it's an easy victory, but it's not even close to being rated as a threat.

Whether it's the power of individuals or the power of numbers, there's nothing to lose.

It would be easy to overrun the Demon King who controlled the dominant territory scattered throughout the north of the prefecture. If it's possible, if you can get some excellent demon kings under your command, you'll be fine. That's how I see it.

But the real threat is the human race.

Hakui is not a problem for us. Kashima-gun, Nanao City, Hozu-gun and Wajima City are all in the clear.

The problem is - Suzu City.

According to the information I found on the Internet, the number of controlled territories in Suzu City is zero.

There were no human beings in Suzu City that were qualified as [Chaos] - there was no reason for this, and all the dominant domains had been liberated by human beings.

That day when the entire world's humanity received a single email. All over the world, the Demon King, aptly named [Chaos], appeared. A part of the land owned by humanity was transformed into an impenetrable zone - a controlled area. Due to the specifications of the "World Salvation Project", the dominant areas are mostly in areas with high population density.

As a result, many human beings were evacuated to less densely populated areas.

If we focus on Ishikawa Prefecture, the area where many humans were evacuated was - Suzu City.

The existence of a large number of humans means that - the likelihood of talented humans existing is high. Suzu City had developed into a center for the people of Ishikawa Prefecture.

 That's a problem........

If there is no dominant territory, then the only way to rule is 《Ruling》.

There were many inns and guest houses in Zhuzhou City, which were now temporary housing for humanity. As far as the information gathered from the internet, the number of humans existing in Zhuzhou City was over 100,000.

Subjugating or burying more than 100,000 human beings... the unification of the northern part of the county was a difficult path to follow.

''What's wrong with your grim expression?''

Kanon calls out to me as I look at the map and ponder over my thoughts.

''I thought it was going to be a tough battle to 'rule' Suzu City.
''What? Zion-san's mind is already focused on Suzu City, isn't it?
Well, it's not easy to control the cities of Nanao and Wajima but the one that poses a threat is Suzu City.

I let Kanon tell me what I was thinking about earlier.

'I see........it's tough to subjugate 100,000 people, isn't it? Can't we put Suzu City on the back burner and invade Nomi City?
If that is the case, we will have to invade Nomi City in the south, while allocating forces to the defense of Toyama Prefecture in the east and the city of Suzu in the north. If we unify the northern part of the prefecture, we can expand the area of control that will become a safe zone, so the unification of the northern part of the prefecture will be a top priority.
If that's the case........we don't have the strength to go out in the current state of affairs, so we urgently need to increase the number of our military personnel.
''That's true. But we can only add a maximum of two Military personnel per day, and since we can't spend all of our CP on turning them into Military personnel...''
One member of the family per day is probably appropriate.

Kanon, who is used to talking to me, responds by anticipating my thoughts.

''Which means........here, it might be a good idea to slow down the pace of the invasion and set up the infrastructure, right?

Kanon tells me his thoughts as he tilts his head and tells me what he thinks.

'Kanon's idea isn't a bad one I'd say, but I'm going to dismiss it.
''Wha--?

Since ruling also gave us the means to acquire the 'lords' and the equipment of the civilization that humanity possessed, the idea of setting up an infrastructure isn't a bad one, but--

I pointed to the south side of the map spread out in front of me - Komatsu City.

''The Demon King of Komatsu City is rapidly expanding his area of control.

The Demon King of Komatsu City ruled the entire Komatsu City and Kaga City under his control......................and is currently expanding his control area to Hakusan City.

The Demon King of Komatsu City seems to be aware of my situation, and has been expanding his area of control so as not to provoke me, who controls more than half of Kanazawa City, to the north. However, I'm not in an alliance with the Demon King of Komatsu City, nor am I on friendly terms with him - the day of conflict will surely come.

 Furthermore--.

I operated my smartphone and displayed a map of the entire country of Japan on the screen.

This map was edited and created in real time by human volunteers and contained a map of the distribution of the dominant area of the country.

''Oh........the Demon King of Hyogo Prefecture is expanding his control area even more, isn't he?
'The other demon kings of Hiroshima, Aichi, Niigata, Miyagi, Aomori, Hokkaido, and Fukuoka definitely have a larger area of control than I do.
I heard that the Demon Lord of Tokyo and Osaka are also engaged in fierce battles, so the level of competition is quite high.
I'm also afraid of Yokohama, where all the heroes and heroic humans are gathered.
I saw on the Internet that Kyoto's student body is also very strong.

As I speak, pointing to the area displayed on the map of Japan, Kanon begins to speak as well, pointing to the map on the Japanese map.

In other words, the forces that make up the enemy are growing in real time. Those whose growth lags behind--the weak are always swallowed up by the strong.
We don't have time to wait around for the infrastructure to be in place.
'I understand the importance of infrastructure. But we won't have the infrastructure in place until after we unify the north of the province.

 Don't get your priorities wrong.

The first thing we need to do before we can build the infrastructure is to get the groundwork in place.

What I mean by solid ground is to secure a vast safe zone.

If we unify the northern part of the prefecture, Zhuzhou, Wajima, Hakui (Shiga Town) and Hozu County will be the safe zone, and many other areas will be safe.

The infrastructure will then be built.

We need to secure these resources first, and then we will work on infrastructure to maximize the resources we have.

As I continued my conversation with Kanon, I drew a diagram of the future.

 ◇

150 days later. (One year and eight months after becoming a demon king.)

I now control Kanazawa City, Kahoku-gun, Kahoku City, Hakui, Hakui, Kashima-gun and Wajima City, bringing the total number of areas under my control to 184.

We now have several former demon kings and former liberators who can participate in battles, and the number of people in our domain has increased to 8652.

My level has grown to 17, and my maximum CP has increased to 20,100, but my daily running costs have also increased significantly, and special abilities such as Attendants, the creation of random numbers, and "rule" are all CP-consuming, so I'm still struggling with my CP management every day.

The place we are currently invading is--Noto Town, Hozu County.

The decisive battle against the human race that awaits us in Suzu City - the time when the unification of the northern part of the prefecture is imminent.

The maple tree sends a report.

"The Demon King of the Koiji Coast I'm afraid...

The maple's face was pale and his whole body was trembling as he delivered the report.
