248 Invasion of Nonoichi City ①

The next day after winning the offensive and defensive battle at Ishikawa Institute of Technology.

It is now 16:00, and two hours remain until the invasion of Nonoichi City Hall.

The Nonoichi City Hall, along with other large facilities in the neighborhood, is surrounded by a solid wall. Only two gates, the north and south gates, are open for entry and exit. Flying daemons and pixies can jump over the walls, but it is clear that they will be shot down with countless arrows and magic before they can jump over.

The key to the strategy would be - siege weapons.

The buildings and equipment built by humanity had properties similar to those of objects in games, and were impossible to destroy with the abilities granted to them after they became the Kowaleta world.

The only thing that could destroy humanity's buildings - was a weapon created by humanity.

At Zhuzhou City Hall, the goblins launched a truck attack that risked their lives and destroyed the gates. It would be tempting to launch a similar operation this time, but the gates in the wall covering Nonoichi City Hall were so solid that it seemed impossible to destroy them with a truck attack alone.

The humans in Nonoichi City obviously seemed to know that this specification - the power of the Demon King's side - would not be able to destroy human structures.

Did they learn this through repeated battles with the Demon King Kaoru?

If the enemy learns and evolves repeatedly, we will only evolve faster than they do.

I foresaw this kind of day coming, and I had ordered Akira and the territorial residents who were rich in architectural knowledge to develop siege weapons.

An unscientific power, an ability acquired in the world of Kowaleta, and wisdom based on the long history of humanity's experience. Several prototypes of siege weapons that combined these abilities had already been completed.

Based on the ore mined from the mines they created and refined without relying on their abilities - the bombs have been confirmed to be effective against man-made structures as well. Other projectiles that were designed to be handled by demon and dwarf species with superior arm strength, as well as an impulse car.

In order to handle these siege weapons, a new unit was newly established - the crafting unit. The commander of the unit was Meissen, a Dwarf Lord recommended by Akira. The second-in-command was Kiichi, the territorial resident who had assisted in the development of the unit, who was selected as his subordinate.

Since the combat ability of the crafting unit was low, it was crucial to decide where to send them into battle.

I reconfirmed the Nonoichi City Hall invasion force that would include the crafting unit.

All cadres except for the territorial residents such as Yataro and Izayoi, who are defending the invasion from Toyama Prefecture, and Akira and Lady Tamura for logistical support.

Although there is still some fatigue in some of their subordinates we can't let this opportunity pass us by.

After confirming the troops to be invaded, reserve troops, reserve supplies and everything else, I left the room and headed out of the controlled territory.

 ◆

 18:00.

We will now begin the invasion of Nonoichi City Hall!

I call out to my 12,000 men in a row.

"Fierce resistance is expected, but men, show them the power of Astor's kingdom! Let every enemy that stands before us know how foolish they are!

""Oh!"

With a shout that shook the atmosphere, we were about to begin our invasion.

It took us two hours to advance at a slow pace.

We approached the wall covering Nonoichi City Hall with only 500 meters to go.

We didn't act covertly this time. If we paid even the slightest attention, the enemy could detect our invasion.

The result was - a group of countless human beings who were positioned in front of the wall.

''Canon, how many enemies do you think there are?''
Well.........this one is 12,000, so it should be around 36,000? 48,000?

Canon's estimate is three to four times our strength. My estimate is the same. To be precise, there are probably forces waiting behind the walls as well, and since we have a lot of reserve forces ready to go, the actual difference in strength is unknown.

''There are more than three times as many enemies as we are! Is there anyone who has been cowed?

I throw confirmation to my subordinates as if to provoke them.

 --Don't! Boom! Boom!

My subordinates strike their weapons to deny my words and step through the ground.

'Who will win--?'
""Astor Empire!" ""Master Theon!" ""Our Astor Empire!" ""It's us!"

My questions are answered by my subordinates in an angry voice.

Can't we get the answers together........ Should I have practiced like Saburou?

Let's show them what we can do!
""Oh!"

The morale swells in response to my words. The feeling of unity with your subordinates, which makes you feel invincible, makes me feel at the top of my game.

"Hibiki Unit! Iron Corps! Set up your shields and get ahead of us!
"As my master commands!
""BOOHIE!"

Hibiki and Orcs respond to my orders with an angry shout, and Iain and the other living males, who have not said a word, respond by beating their shields.

''Takahar troops to the rear! Red Team! March on!
Hey!
""Aww!"
Let's go!
""#$#%&!"

Chloe Squad! Leila Squad! March on!
Awesome!
""Ha!"

Sarah's Unit! Flora Squad! March on!
"Ri.
""#$&#!"
""Hi."

Sarah and Flora's troops marched in. At the tail end, me and Saburou's troops, followed by Lina and Kotetsu's troops.

Hibiki and the Iron Squad moved forward one step at a time while catching a rain of arrows and magic that fell like a baptism.

When the distance between us and the enemy is close to 50 meters........

For the sake of humanity's survival we will defend this place to the death!
"Everybody let's go!

Some of the humans raise their weapons and charge in.

--Hibiki Squad, Iron Squad, stop right there!
 --Chloe's, Leila's, Sarah's, and Flora's units, begin the attack!

The troops of Hibiki and Iron, who are walking on the front line, stand by and unleash their long-range attacks in unison.

Flying from each other's camps, arrows and magic.

The sound of flying arrows and magic, the sound of metal colliding with metal and magical explosions echoing around them.

--The final battle with the human race in Ishikawa Prefecture had begun.
