32 # 32 Behind the scenes, and ancient magic.

After Yae and I got back to the "Silver Moon", I decided to try a few things in my room.
I was able to grant magic to the app. Maybe I could do something else.
For example, Long Sense, a non-attribute magic that could send the five senses flying at a distance. If we could give this to the camera app.

'Enchantment: long-sense'

I did it anyway. Then what I saw in my field of vision was reflected on the screen of the camera app. I skipped the visuals with the sensation of using "Long Sense. I could see through the walls of the room and into Linse's room, two rooms away. Linse was gone. It looks like she's not home. Well, she said she was going shopping with Else.
I look at the screen on my phone and see the inside of Linse's room as well. It's weird. The view in my head appears to be divided into an upper and lower screen. Realistic eye vision and "long-sense" vision.
I press the shutter of my phone in this state........ I got the shot. Success. The photo shows Linse's room.
This is how I was able to shoot long distance. We can even go into an enclosed room and film it. Perhaps we can use this to do the same thing on video, maybe.
I heard the door open and looked up to see Linse in the room. Ah, you're back. I wonder if Else has come back too.
As I was thinking about that, Linse took off her jacket and began to unbutton her blouse. Her dazzling white skin flashed into my eyes. Ooohhhh!
No! Inadvertently, I'm pretty sure this is a peep! I hurriedly deactivate the "long sense".
That was close......... I can almost see it........what? ...Nearly...?
No! No, no! If they found out, I would have lost all credibility. We can't do that! It's hard to regain trust once you've lost it. I haven't made a bad decision! .........should be. No, I don't think they wouldn't have found out even if I had watched it like that.......

''...Fuyao-san. Okay?
'Yes, yes! What, what is it?!

As I began to anguish, I heard a knock on the door and the voice of the girl I had seen earlier. I hid my phone in my pocket in a hurry. Soon, the door opened and Linse, who had changed her clothes, peeked out her face.

''...? What's wrong?
'No! Nothing, though! I'm sorry, but can I help you with that?

 He bit me. Calm yourself!

"...I found this in an antique store today and bought it...

Linse held out what looked like a scroll. It was a wooden tube with a parchment-like substance wrapped around it. When I looked inside, I saw that it was filled with characters I didn't recognize.

'What's this?'
'Maybe it's a magic scroll. It's just that the writing on it is in an ancient magical language, so I can only read part of it...

I see. So it's for me. I grabbed a pair of glasses from the table and took out a silver coin from my wallet and made a pair of glasses with "modeling". Then I added "reading" to the completed glasses with "enchantment" and the translation glasses were complete.
The ones I gave to Charlotte-san are different in the ancient spirit language and the ancient magic language, though. I have no idea about the difference between the languages.
I hand it to her after it was completed. When Linze received it and put on her glasses, she looked like a literary girl and it looked quite good on her. This kind of Linse is cute too.
With the glasses on, she turned her attention to the unfolded magic scroll.

''...! It's amazing, isn't it? I've heard about it, but it's a slick read.

Linse let out an astonished cry as she followed the scrolls with her eyes.

'What does it say?'
'One ancient magic. It seems to be a water-based magic ... bubble bomb ... maybe an attack-type magic.

Linse snorted and continued to read the scroll. Apparently I was able to help. I felt guilty for peeking, but I felt like I could make up for it a little bit.
Linse wanted to try it out right away, but I didn't have time to do it from now on, so I decided to go out with her again tomorrow and asked her to give it up for today.
As soon as Linse left the room, I deleted the picture I took of Linse's room from my phone. It's never a good idea to destroy the evidence. I don't want the title of the bucktooth turtle guy.
But you know what? Burglary with APORTS, Peeping Tom with LONG SENSE, Home Invasion with GATE. Stealing with the camera app and "Long Sense"......... It seems like more and more criminal skills are being developed........
I promised myself that I would refrain from acting suspiciously.

The next day, I came to the East Forest with Linse. Since we've been here once, it's easy to come here with the magic of the gate, and there's an open area in the forest that's perfect for practicing magic. Of course, there will be a fire, so fire magic is excluded.
We split up through the forest and came to an open area. Quickly, Linse took out yesterday's scroll, put on her translation glasses and perused it a few times, then she held up her silver staff and began to focus her magic.

''Water, come, shock bubble bubble bomb.

Small clumps of water began to gather around the silver wand that Linse held up, but it quickly popped and fell to the ground. A failure, probably.
She readies her wand once more and concentrates her magic power.

'Water, come on, shock bubble bubble bomb.

Another ball of water forms around the wand, and then it bounces and falls just like before. Another failure. Well, it's only ancient magic, it's not something that can be mastered so easily, is it?
Linze reads the scroll again and holds up her staff again. And fail again.
He tried to activate it several times after that, but all of them bounced off the wand a little bit and fell to the ground with a small pop. A series of failures.
After ten times, Linse staggered and fell to her knees, staggering. I rushed over and picked her up.

''Linse! Are you okay?!
It's okay........it's just a magic break........so....... He'll heal with a little rest and relaxation...

With his eyes blurred, Linse replies without effort. Is this the state of running out of magic power? And, we can't leave it like this.

I'm sure you'll be able to find out more about it. And, Fuyao-san...!

I held Linse, who was dazed and dazed, to the side and opened the "gate". Linze in my arms was stiff and red-faced, as if she was in pain somewhere, but I'll have her hold on for a little while.
I walked out into the backyard of the Silver Moon, went inside, went up the stairs, and opened the door to Linse's room. He then gently laid Linse down on the bed attached to the corner of the room. Her face was still red, but she wondered if she was okay. He put his hand on his forehead and measured his fever.

''.........Hahaha.......!
No fever. Hang on. I'll get Else for you.

I called Else in the next room and asked her to remove Linse's equipment. I can't just remove them by touching myself, you know.
For now, I left the rest to Else and left Linse's room. I'm not sure if I'm being serious or if I'm being diligent in practicing until I run out of magic. I'm sure you'll find that many wizards, like Charlotte-san, have a straightforward temperament. I guess that's what it means to be single-minded.

The next day, Linse was all better. It is said that loss of magic power can be recovered in a day or so if you rest and get some rest.

''...I'm sorry for the trouble I caused you yesterday!

Lindsay apologized to me for yesterday, but I don't think she did anything to make me apologize for it?
Today they went to the East Forest again and practiced their magic as they did yesterday.
Linse would fail and try again, and fail and try again. I watched it all the way to the side, but when Linze failed for the ninth time, I made her stop practicing. Any more and I would collapse again, just like yesterday.

'Let's take a break, Linse,'
Yes.

I hand Linse the canteen of tea I had brought with me.

'Do you think you'll catch anything?'
''...No, nothing. The activation of a magic depends largely on the knowledge of that magic, so after all, magic that you've never seen before is difficult...

I see. I guess I haven't seen what kind of magic it is, so I don't have a clear picture of what it is.
We rested for about an hour after that, but the magic power didn't recover much, and after two failed attempts, Linse wavered, so we cut that off for the day.

The next day and the next day, Linze continued to practice. Every day until just before his magic power ran out; after an hour of practice, Linze's magic power would run out, so the rest of the day would be spent resting. To be honest, it didn't seem very efficient.

''But even so, Linze works hard. You've failed so many times, but you're not going to give up.''
I'm so clumsy that I have to do the same thing over and over again before I can finally learn to use my magic. It's been the same until now. So, nothing is impossible.

Then Linse laughs. He's strong, this kid. Continuity is strength. I'm well aware that not giving up is more important than anything else for my growth.
But it's definitely not very efficient. If only I could practice more times........ Hmmm...should I talk to Charlotte-san about it? I've heard he's the best wizard in the country.
After I stopped practicing before my magic power ran out and returned to the inn with Linse, I jumped with Yumina to Charlotte-san's place in the castle at the 'gate'. It's hard to walk through the castle without Yumina........ I'm a complete prowler....
Charlotte-san was in the research tower inside the castle, but for some reason, she had shades under her eyes. Apparently he hasn't been sleeping much lately. Still, she consulted with me and gave me a solution. Later, he made me promise to help Charlotte-san with her research...

The next day, I came to the East Forest with Linse again. Today, we repeated the same practice and continued to fail. Eventually, when she was about to run out of magic any longer, Linse cut off her own practice. This is where I come in.

''Linse, come here.''
"? ...What is it?

I squeezed Linse's hands as she came in front of me.

''Huh, huh! Wha, what is it?
Relax. Just relax.
Riracs.
Uh...relax, please.

I soothe Linse, who is flustered, and concentrate my magic power to activate the non-attribute magic that Charlotte-san taught me about its existence and effects. My hands glow vaguely.

''Transfer.
What?

A blur of light shifts from my hand to Linse, and Linse is surprised when she receives it. It looks like I've succeeded.

''The magic power...is recovering. In such... an instant?''

Attributeless magic "Transfer". It's a magic that transfers one's own magical power to others. It's a very good idea to have a good idea of what you're going to do with it.
It's a very good idea to have a good idea of what you're going to do with it. That's a demon, that person.
But I'll do the same thing to Linse. Like Charlotte-san's master, though it's not compulsory.
I just realized for the first time that I transferred the amount of magic power that Linse would recover in full, but it's still lower than the amount of magic power I use to maintain Amber's existence. In other words, it's within the range of natural recovery. Linze's amount of magic power isn't low by any means, he said. How much magic power do I have, my magic power amount.......
Anyway, now Linse can practice her magic without worrying about running out of magic power.

"Water, come on, Impact Bubble Bomb.

Then, for hours straight, Linse continued to practice her magic. That's a lot of concentration. But at this rate, even if her magic power is fine, she can't keep her physical strength up this time.
For now, I'll let her take a break.

''It's still difficult, after all.... For the life of me, I can't get an overview of this magic...
I see...

I knew it was going to be difficult. Ancient magic is. Well, it's a magic that almost no one is using, so there's no example. I guess there's no way to proceed if you don't solidify your own image.

''...At least if I understand what a bubble bomb is, I can understand a little...''
.............yes?

Linse's words made me sound dumb. Huh? What do you mean?

What do you mean by "bubble bomb?
"? Yes. The unique names of magic have meanings. For example, the 'fire' in 'Firestorm' means fire...
No, no, no, no, no, no.

Huh? Doesn't that translate to English... or something like that? Are you getting a direct message regardless of what it means or what it means?
I'll borrow a scroll from Linse and read it in "Reading". Okay, so that's what it means....
So you know the word "Fireball" but you don't know what it means? From "Fireball", "Fire Arrow", "Firestorm", etc., it seems like they at least know that "fire" is a word for fire.
Oh, so everyone was shouting out magic names that they don't even know the meaning of? It's weird...I don't get it. Didn't other people use English words too? They said ice = ice, I believe. God, there's something wrong with the translation function. ........I wonder if it's only funny for bubble and bomb. Neither of them are used much in everyday conversation...

'? What's going on?
Oh, no ... 'Bubble' means bubble and 'bomb' means bomb.
A bomb?
Ah, the exploding thing, I guess. It's like the magic Linse uses in Explosions.

As I explained, Linse was silent and thoughtful for a while, looked up, and then she raised her wand again and began to activate her magic.

'Water, come on, shock bubble bubble bomb.

A single lump of water... or rather a ball that looked like a soap bubble appeared around the wand and began to drift fluffily around.
The size of the ball was about 20 centimeters in diameter. It seemed to be able to be moved by Linse's will, and it drifted freely in the air for a while, but eventually Linse smashed the ball into a tree.
Instantly, a tremendous impact sound rang out, and the tree we had hit was blown to pieces.
We watched the scene in stunned amazement, and eventually Linse muttered softly.

''I...made it...''

This is the ancient magic "Bubble Bomb"? That's a ridiculously powerful one........
Linze continued to use the Bubble Bomb magic again. This time, five or six balls appeared all at once and flew in a straight line towards the forest. As soon as the balls touch the trees, a chain of explosions occurs, and all at once the trees are cleaved.
That's a hell of a lot of power........ Linse runs towards me and bows her head.

''Thanks to Fuyao-san, I was able to complete it. Thank you.''
'No, Linse's efforts have paid off. I just helped out a little.

It's embarrassing to be thanked again. And I think it's amazing that Linze has kept trying again and again and again, never giving up. She's a hard worker who starts with what she can do and steadily grows one by one. That's the essence of her.
I'm glad I was able to learn something new about Linze. With that in mind, I opened the gate to 'Silver Moon'.
