186 # 186 Lightly explore, and a gold ring.

Relisha told me the exact location of the island where the underground labyrinth is located, and I used the "Gate" to transition to the desert of Sandra's kingdom once I got there. From there, I flew to the island with "Fly".
After quite a bit of flying, I eventually found the island I was aiming for. It's certainly far away. Even if you cross from Sandra's kingdom, it's going to take a lot of time to get there by boat.

"Well, I'm pretty sure there are three islands, right?

There are three different underground labyrinths, or dungeons, on each island. I was asked to pick a name for them, but I'll think of one later. It would be nice if we could come up with a good name for it.

Huh?

Looking down at one of the islands, I saw a medium-sized boat floating offshore and a group of people camping on the beach beyond. Could that be the guild members who were monitoring the island that Relisha-san was talking about?
As I landed directly at the camp, a group of startled guild members surrounded me with weapons.

''What? Who are you?''
''I received a request from one of the guild masters, Relisha-san. I'm an adventurer now, I guess. Oh, here's your guild card.
"Money...? So, Brunhild's...! I beg your pardon!

Immediately, the guild members delivered their swords. That's great, a guild card. I heard it can't be forged, so it must be that reliable. Well, there's no way the guild members could mistake it for a fake.

''Relisha-san told me to connect this island with the underground labyrinth to Brunhild... ah... should I call him himself?

I opened the 'gate' and pulled Relisha-san from Brunhild's Adventurer's Guild.

''........It's true that I made the suggestion this way, but it doesn't add up to anything when you act so quickly.

Relisha-san had told the guild members what had happened so far and told them that the mission was over. Only sandy beaches, rocky mountains, jungle, and blue skies were in sight.

''So where are the dungeons on these islands?
If you go straight through the jungle from here, you'll soon see a rocky hill. There is a cave with a staircase down to an underground labyrinth in the middle of the mountain. This area is shallow and probably leads down to the bottom of the ocean, but it may be connected to the other two dungeons underground as well.

Indeed, if these islands were originally one island, then it's possible that it's like the guild member said? Well, let's go for now.

''I'm going to dive into the dungeon for a bit, but what will you guys do?''
'I will proceed with the proceedings in Brunhild. I'm sorry, but would you be willing to transfer these men to the port of Sandra's kingdom?

There was nothing wrong with that, so I sent Relisha-san back to the guild's former room at the "gate". After witnessing this, the guild members who had hurriedly withdrawn from the camp site were happily boarding the ship. Was the order to stand by in a place like this quite hard? Well, it's not hard to understand.
Once everyone was on board, the entire ship was transferred to the port of Sandra's kingdom.
Now, let's head to the dungeon, shall we?
We could have flown over, but as a way of securing the route from the sandy beach to the dungeon, we cut down the trees in the jungle and proceeded to make a path with earth magic.
Along the way, we were attacked by a wolf with six legs and a two-headed serpent, but they weren't very strong, so we gave them back.
We pushed through the jungle in a straight line and made our way to the rocky mountain. From there, I chipped away at the rock pile in a staircase and completed the path to the cave at the entrance of the dungeon.
I entered the cave and peered down the stairs.

''It's dark. Of course it is.''

You go down the stairs, creating a light ball with the magic of "light". It's a dungeon in a very gloomy way. We are surrounded by the sea, so that's right.
Eventually, we came to a large room. Looking at the walls and ceiling, there is no doubt that they are man-made and that this is an underground labyrinth. Looking around, I saw that the path was divided into three parts, left and right. Hey, hey, a fork in the road from the basement level? This kind of thing, in a game, the shallow levels would be a single path. It's not a game, so I can't complain about it, though.
Anyway, I don't want to get lost, so I go straight to the front passage. Well, you can get back at the "gate" even if you get lost.
As I went straight ahead, the passage was divided into two sides. Hmmm. I was going to let them all go through in a straight line, though.
 Huh? Wait a minute?

This can't be right but map display. Show me the dungeon at your current location, downstairs.
Indicators.

The phone replied and a map of the basement level of this dungeon and my current location was displayed in the air. It was done. It's been done, dude. Boring.
It even shows the stairs to the second basement floor, just to be polite. There are four when I look at it.
Hmm, it's not so much fun when you know what's going to happen next... I have a feeling we could make some money by selling this map, but let's not. It would be more fun for the adventurers to research and find things on their own. ...I feel like I'm making an amusement park. Oh well. Let's just wander around the basement floor....

"Oops!

As I turned down the corridor towards the stairs to the second basement floor, I bumped into a demon. It's a kobold, a demon with a small, dog-shaped head. There are two of them.
The kobold seemed to be waiting for me, and when I turned the corner, it swung a stone axe like object at me. I dodged it and shot them both down with Brunhild. Ah, I remember this was a paralyzing bullet. These guys saved my life.
Come to think of it, we're wearing "lights", aren't we? It was an obvious landmark. That's why they were ambushed, right?
We left the fallen kobold behind and headed straight for the basement floor. In front of that, a side street seems to lead to a dead-end little room. It's a bit suspicious, let's go there. It's important to take a detour.
I went down the corridor and opened the dead-end door, and found a treasure chest in the corner of the small room. It's a common sight in video games, but when you actually see it, it's very strange.
I want to complain to myself, "Why is there a treasure chest here? Well, I'll open it anyway.
I'm a little excitedly putting my hand on the treasure chest. I don't want it to explode or anything as soon as I open it. I lift the lid a bit. Apparently, it's not locked. When I took the plunge and opened it, there was something indescribable in there.

''What is this...?''

A rusty dagger, a dirty leather bag, an obscure stick, a homemade stone axe........oh, this is the same one Kobold had earlier, right? Is it possible that this is what they collected?
Apparently, this was the Kobold's treasure room. Even the guild wouldn't buy this kind of junk.......hmm?
I looked closely and found a small ring in the corner of the treasure chest. There was no jewelry or anything on it, but this........isn't it gold? Oh, the gold ring (?). I got the If this is the real thing, I can sell it.
.........On second thought, where did this treasure chest come from?
Perhaps this treasure chest originally contained treasures, but the demons took it away without permission. Did Kobold find this treasure box and use it as his own vault?
This treasure chest might not even belong to this level. Human (demon?) hands from a lower level Maybe it's flowing in and out of the room, crossing over to
What was in the treasure room has already been taken away by the demons and is now hidden in various places like this treasure chest. Maybe the demons have it.
I'll just take the ring and leave the rest for you. From now on, Kobold, adventurers may come and chase you around, but you have to be strong.
I arrived at the basement level and used the "gate" to get to Relisha's place.

''Surely this is definitely gold. It's an ordinary ring with no granting effect.

So it's real. That means it's reasonably promising, right?
The adventurer's goal is to find the treasures that lie in the dungeon and the materials that can be obtained from the monsters and demons that spring up there. It seems that in dungeons, monsters and monsters have evolved differently from those on the ground, and many of them are rare materials.

This ring, may I buy it for you?
I don't mind. How much is that going to be?
'Well there's no workmanship and a lot of flaws, so I'd say two silver coins.

Hmm. That's enough money to stay at an inn for a week. I feel like it's enough if I can earn this much for that much searching. Well, it won't be that easy to find one, though.
Oh, come to think of it, if we're going to have more adventurers, we'll have to increase the number of innkeepers. I'm afraid I'll be punked out with just 'Silver Moon'.

''And the gate connecting the island to Brunhild, what about tolls and such?
Is this a toll?
It's a dead end over there, so I guess you'll only pay when you go... are you going to make it free?
''Hmmm ... well ... then I'll take a copper coin or so.

I was told that it's very cheap, but if it's too expensive, there's a possibility that they may not come back without having gone over there. If possible, I'd like them to come back here often to eat or stay at the inn.
However, if you make it free, there is a chance that no one will pay attention to you if you go in there without permission. You should have some control over who goes to the island and who doesn't return. You can easily do that with a guild card.
The tolls aren't going to make much money, but that's not what they're for.
You might probably need a lot of things like weapons, armor, wounds and potions. Although I would like to avoid using the raccoon dog's skin, I shall talk to the merchants in town just in case.
We may also need a smith to repair weapons and the like.
 This is getting fun.
