295 # 295 Dimensional Gate Mark 2, and red.

This is the Dimensional Gate Mark 2. It's the same design, though.

Beyond that, the doctor pointed to a dimensional gate set up in the "garden" of Babylon. Next to it, there was another one that was exactly the same.
An arched, silvery white "gate" that looks like a smaller version of the French Arc de Triomphe. Like Mark 1? there is also a half-moon shaped meter at the top of the center of the arch.

'These two dimensional gates are linked by spatio-temporal magic, and their coordinate axes are fixed in different spaces... well, they're connected. If we install the Mark 2 into the other world, we should be able to come and go.
Oh, I see. So they just have to put it in a safe place.

If you don't pour enormous magical power into it, it won't activate itself, so there's almost no need to worry about it being passed from the other world to this one by someone else. However, if the gate itself is destroyed, that's not good enough.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to set up a magical ward somewhere in the middle of nowhere and make a place that is completely uninterfered with.
Oh, you can get a golem over there and make it the guardian of the place.

''So now we can cross over to the other world too?

The doctor looks away apologetically at Linse, who murmurs this while looking up at the gate.

''Uh ... about that. To tell the truth, the adjustment isn't perfect yet. This time, if I try to cross over to the other side with Fuyao-kun, the conditions will be limited.
A limited number of... people, that is?

Yae asks the doctor. Is there a limit on the number of people? I'd take everyone with me if I could.

It's the number of people or rather the mass.

Several people froze in place at the doctor's merciless words.
There's an accurate scale I made in the castle's changing room, so everyone should know their weight, though.
I didn't need to ask, but assuming that the child-bodied Dr. and Sue were fine, the petite Yumina, Lean, and Lou were probably fine, they weren't in such a hurry.
The older group, including Yae, Hilda, Else, and Linse, continue to look away, bordering on Sakura, who is twisting her neck with a blank expression.
No, if it's the average weight of a girl's 15 or 16 year old, then it's not surprising that she's over 50kg. I don't know about that.
Girls in this world care about their weight too.... The boys don't care much about it.

The first thing I need to do is to go over there and find a safe place. It's too scary if everyone else is lined up to go over there and then something goes wrong and we can't return.

When I stated the fundamental point, the older members of the group, who had been sinking, began to speak at once, as if they had come to life.

That's right! It's still not definitely safe, that it is!
'Yae-san was right! It's premature!
'Of course! I'm not going to run away in a hurry!
Well, I guess we'll have to wait till next time to go together...

I somehow know what they are thinking, but I don't dare to speak of it. There are certain areas that men are not allowed to enter.
Yumina and the others didn't make any special objection. It is certainly not too early to deny that it is still premature. It's a good thing that you're able to do that.

It's true that it's more reliable. It's safer to make minor adjustments after installation.

The doctor nodded lightly, but if that's the case, you should have said so from the beginning. You've experienced unnecessary tension.
Anyway, I store the Dimensional Gate Mark 2 in the 'storage' and pour the magic power into the Mark 1. I poured so much into it the other day, but it's almost empty after a single transfer.
I wonder if this poor fuel economy is an improvement, but surely this is safer since I'm the only one who can activate it?
As the meter on the half-moonboard opened fully, there was a flicker in the gate. The landscape looks like a wasteland somewhere.
I haven't set up Mark 2 in "Storage" yet, so it was probably just another random connection.
Well, I can transfer to the Holy City of Arendt in the Holy Kingdom of Arendt on the other side with the 'Gate', so there's no problem.

''Then I'm going to go. I'll be back tomorrow or the day after.

I hope I can find a place to set it up in a day or so, given the time gaps in the transfer. Well, we can work it out.

Please don't do anything crazy like you usually do, okay?

Yumina nailed it. No, I don't want to be reckless from the beginning every time. As a result.........

"Fuyao-dono has a tendency to be swept away by the people around him, that he does.
'There were many times when I would act on the spur of the moment.
If there's a problem, don't poke your nose into it. Okay? Do you understand?
Well, I'm off then!

Following Yumina, Yae, Hilda, Else and the others were closing in on us as if they were chasing after us, so we ran away and went through the dimensional gate.
I stepped out further, experiencing the same uncomfortable feeling of passing through the same rubber membrane as always, and I saw the wasteland I could see from the dimensional gate.
Beyond the rocks, I could see an even higher rocky area. It's like the western frontier America I've seen in movies. It looks like the cavalry will be coming from the other side.

Anyway, I'm going to search for a place... Wow, we're so far away from Arendt again.

Arendt is around Rhodomere, so it's pretty far away.
Well, we can still get to Arendt by going through the Gates, no matter how far away it is.

Well, what should we do? If we're going to set it up in an unpopular place, this is fine, but........

A wasteland as far as the eye can see. There are no shadows or shapes of people. There are no roads, and I doubt there are many people who come to such a place. It's not a bad condition.
However, it's not always safe. It's because there might be a monster or something wandering around here. If that two-headed dragon like fellow I encountered the first time I came here was wandering around, there's a possibility that the gate could be destroyed.
We'll build an invisible wall with the Shield, and then disguise it as a rock or something with the Mirage... I think that should be fine, but I'm not sure about this place.
The best thing to do would be to build a house and install it in the basement of the house. It could be disguised, and it would be somewhat safe.
If I were to be extravagant, I'd like to have someone to look after the house for me, but that's a luxury.... I can't just confess to someone from this world that I'm from the next world and ask them to help me.
I could summon a summoned beast, but if I go back to that world, it will be gone. Oh, shit. I should've asked them to build me a magic tank too.

''........I guess we should still go in the direction of getting Golem here, right?

I decide to get the golems for some reason within myself. From what I've heard from the merchant here, Sancho-san, it seems to be quite expensive, but there's nothing you can't buy if you have the money.

If you decide to do so, you'll have to raise funds and gather information.

At any rate, we have zero money in our possession. I made some money by buying a gold ingot from Sancho-san before, but I spent it all on gambling in the casino.
........Well, I still haven't gotten the money I gave the "Red Cat" of the Righteous Order for the orichalcon and adamantite.
At that time, I helped him escape from the Knights, and then we parted ways....... I don't have any money, so I'll get it.

Let's see, the "Red Cat" is...

Searching for Nia, the head of the family. The location is next to the Holy Kingdom Arendt that I was in before, in a country called the Strain Kingdom or something like that, near the city of Carne.
It's not in the city. Even though they're bandits, they're still a bandit group, so maybe they don't want to be in the public eye too much.
I expanded the place, but it seems to be in the forest. There are a few sparse stone walls... but the display says "Ruins of Fort Deuce", so they're probably using the abandoned fort as a hideout. This map search doesn't give us any details about the facilities.
I searched for other "Red Cat" members, but there are no more than 30 of them. That's quite a few, isn't it? He's on the move.
Never mind. Let's just go there.
We've never been there before, so we can't use the Gate. There's no problem with teleportation, but it's too far away to adjust the details. It could be on a river or inside a house. If there's an obstacle in the destination, you won't be able to transition, though, so you won't be able to transition to a place inside a wall or something.
I'm not a fan of this, but I'm sure it's a good idea for you to have a good time.
But the destination is in the forest, so I think it's somewhat safe. I tried to search for it, but there's no one around but the members of the Red Cat group, and there's no trouble in being seen. It's a good thing that the members of the 'Red Cat' group already know about the transference magic. Well, let's try it while we practice 'teleportation'.
I'm going to be in this direction. The distance is.........about this much on this map.

"Teleportation.

In an instant, the landscape around me changed from a wasteland to a forest. As I transitioned about 10 centimeters above the ground, my legs crunched, but I managed to avoid falling down.

''Hmm.......I guess one hit wasn't enough after all.

Looking at the map, it looks like we're a few miles before our destination, and the fort is still ahead of us.
It doesn't work. The sensation is similar to throwing a piece of paper into a trash can a few meters away. I might be able to pinpoint it once I get used to it, but for now, I can't.
Oh well. The fort is right there, and the next "teleportation" will definitely transfer us to the inside of the fort.
I wondered if it would be safe to move to the fort all of a sudden, but as long as we move in front of the leader, there shouldn't be any problems. I checked the map and it looks like we're right in the courtyard of the fort. We should be fine here.
Without thinking too much, I'll just "teleport" to the vicinity of Nia.
In hindsight, this was a mistake. Let's call it laziness because I got used to this thing called shifting magic.......

''Huh?''

The place where I was relocated was not in the courtyard of the fort, but in a room. A room, but not an ordinary room. It was inside a big green tent.
And in front of me stood Nia, the head of the righteous bandit group 'Red Cat'.

''...........''

She looked at me with her eyes wide open. Her red twin-tailed hair was untied and straightened down.
Her hands had stopped rolling up her shirt and her shorts had fallen to her feet. The only thing on her lower body was her small red fabric underwear.
It was obvious that she was in the middle of changing clothes........

''You.........!
Oh, no, wait. I don't think so. This was an accident.

Apparently there was a tent set up in the courtyard and she was changing clothes in it. The search map didn't even show the tent on the search map.
As I looked at Nia's vicious smile, her face turning red as she approached, and her clenched right fist, I made up my mind.

''Do you have any last words...? An?
'Oh....'
Huh?
'I think red is flashy...'

Just as I said it, Nia's brilliant straight right caught me in the jaw. I could have ducked it, but it's a man's duty to take this one in stride. I fell to the ground after receiving a punch that was so strong that it gave me a concussion, pants ... or rather, a punch that gave me a concussion.
