373 # 373 Rough road and jungle course.

The Red Cat, controlled by Nia Vermouth, will lead the way in the jungle course! A little later, Rosetta & Monica's Silver Star and Lapis's Swan follow it, Nya!

My Brunhild was chasing after Lapidus.
This jungle course is quite a tricky one, as I found out after running it. It's difficult to see what's ahead, as my field of vision is blocked by the trees in the forest.

"Whoa!

On top of that, the road rises steeply, so if you push the gas pedal too hard, you'll make a small jump.
The course has already been opened to the public, so I guess it's still better than that. Paula in the passenger's seat turns the page of the jungle course to us.

''The course splits off from here........''

There is a crossroads in the middle of the jungle course, which is divided into two courses.
One is A course, which is short but rough and full of obstacles.
The other course is the long way but relatively easy course B.
The two AB courses meet again at the end of the two courses.
It was a tough decision, but in my case, course B was the best choice.
The two guys made this course. I don't know what kind of obstacles are in place. If I could avoid them, I would.
And I'm not hung up on the order. If you can pass safely, it's better than nothing.

"Oops! The Akaneko, which is leading the pack, is on course A, and the Silver Star, which is running second, is on course B. Meow!

So Rosetta and the others chose the B course. As expected of Date, he hasn't been with the doctor for years. Nia seems to have chosen course A but I don't think he's thinking about anything. It's probably because it's close to home or something like that.
The Swan running in front of us is going to turn left. Lapidus-san is on course A, right? Will she be okay...?
Worrying about this, I turn the wheel to the right at the fork, heading for the B course.
After a short ride through the forest, my field of vision suddenly opens up and I'm on a road along the coast.
The road was flat and easy to drive on, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. There were seagulls flying over the sea...and I thought it was a dragon. Oh well.
The B course, which is a big detour, has an unobstructed view, and we were able to catch a glimpse of Rosetta and the others ahead of us. That's quite a difference.
Just because it's a B course doesn't mean it's free of obstacles. Let's not let our guard down.

Brünnhilde on the B course! Next, the Steel Axe is headed for course A. Meow! 'After a delay, the Strain split off from course B, the Triharan from course A, and the Felsen from course B. Meow!

So Princess Berrietta is a B course and Prince Rupheus is an A course. That's surprising. I feel like it's the opposite of their personalities.
The Steel Axe and the Felsen, which is powerful enough to traverse bad roads, should have chosen the A course, but the Felsen chose the B course. But Felsen chose course B. She's already been off course once. Did he take a safety measure?
Course A is the Akaneko, the Swan, the Steel Axe, and the Triharan, and Course B is the Silver Star, Brunhild, Strain, and Felsen.
The B course was the Silver Star, Brunhild, Strain, and Felsen. It's split in half.

Meow! There is a big river in front of the Akaneko, which is leading the A course! He used the jumping board in front of him and jumped in one go........ Just in time, just in time to clear it.

How much of a river is just in the nick of time.... I'm glad we chose the B course after all.

"The continuing swan will break through without a hitch! The Steel Axe is accelerating at this point and charging into the jumping platform. Jump wide and land on your feet! Oh, oh, oh, oh, my rear wheel is about to fall off! Fall in, fall in, fall out... or not! That was a close one!

The Steel Axe was heavy to look at. How could you jump?
Unlike the A course, the B course here is a slow, unpaved road. It was like a country road in the countryside.
And then there's the magic vehicle, the Aether Vehicle, which is catching up to us from behind. I'm sure you'll be able to find out more about it.
It's a very fast speeding car. I don't want to fight for the top spot in the rankings, so I don't want to be the one to interfere.

See you later!

I raced down the unpaved road with a cloud of dirt and smoke.
The strainer in front of me headed vigorously towards the Silver Star of Rosetta and the others running in front of it. Is it okay to have the magic motive at full throttle like that?
It's not overheating, but if you go over the limit, the circulation of magic power should be blocked and you should be in the same state as the stall, though.
Just as I was worried about this, a surprised Nyantharo's voice arrived.

''Oohto! All of a sudden, something was blown out of the woods on course A. Meow! That's ... pina! A pie of whipped cream smashed into the face of Nia, the Red Cat, who was leading the way! The Red Neko, which couldn't resist stopping, ducks and ducks by the side of the Red Neko, and the White Swan runs through....

Pie. I knew the A course was a harassment course. It's a disaster for Nia too.
After receiving the pie, Nia was passed by the Steel Axe as well.

"Well, well, well, well, the Swan, which is leading the A course, is returning to the main course. Following that was the Steel Axe, the pie-covered Akaneko! Over there, the Silver Star is leading the B course, followed by the Strain.

The B course was easier to run than I thought it would be, but that didn't change the fact that it was still a big detour.
The swan was the fastest to return to the main course. Next was the Silver Star. After that, the Steel Axe, the Akaneko, the Triharan, the Strain, the Brunhild, and the Felsen completed the split course in that order and returned to the main course.
Ahaha. I was fourth before entering the branch course, but now I've dropped to seventh? I chose the detour B course and didn't even increase my pace, so it's not surprising.
I tried to keep up with the Strain in front of me as I ran through the rough mountainous course.

'Oops!'

As we passed through the forest, we came to a large area dotted here and there with muddy water. It's like a swamp, no, it's a rice field, this is a rice field. There is a road that can be driven by a car like a spider's web or a maze.
I mean, I'm more concerned about the countless statues that resemble merlion that have been set up around it than the muddy area. I have a bad feeling about this...
Anyway, we just have to avoid getting into the muddy waters somehow. If you get stuck in the muddy waters, you might not be able to move, you know.
Other cars would have to drive carefully, and the distance between each car would decrease. I carefully steered the car through the muddy waters, and as I managed to avoid the muddy waters, I heard a loud spray from somewhere.

"Bwow!
Ow, ow, ow, ow!
"Ooh, a sudden release of water has hit the Silver Star. What a disgusting trap, Nya!

Rosetta and Monica aboard the Silver Star were directly hit by the water that suddenly erupted from the mouth of the Merlion, which had been installed. The force of the water was such that it was as if it came out of a fire truck's hose, pushing the Silver Star into the muddy water.

''Phew!''

As it was, the Silver Star was overturned and Rosetta and the others fell into the mud. At the same time, the water discharge stopped. Ugh........

''It's typical of the Doctor to harass us!
Nyarrow!

Rosetta and Monica, covered in mud, manage to put the Silver Star back together as Rosetta and Monica fall in the mud while speaking bitterly of the course designer, and then they push together to the road.
In the meantime, the following cars passed Rosetta and her friends one by one. Of course, we had to be careful not to discharge water from the Merlion.
The muddy Silver Star ran in front of me, and we finally passed the rice field area.
It was a straight course through the wasteland. A bumpy road blocked us. The road was no longer at the level of a wasteland.

"Ugogo-gogo!

It's such a rickety road that you'd think they were doing a rodeo. Paula in the passenger seat looks like she's playing on a trampoline when she's not doing anything. The fact that the car shakes this much even though the suspension should have been changed means that the car that wasn't changed is going to get a lot of shaking....

'Huh?'

Nia's red cat, which should have been running ahead of her, has stopped. In the shadows, the figure of a pie-covered Nia, cowering on all fours, is seen.

''Oh eeeeeeeeee.''

...let's pretend we didn't see it. So you should have made a pit stop.
I take pity on Nia Ezuku as I pass by her.

''Ooh, here's the Steel Axe running powerfully, it has finally overtaken the Swan and jumped to the top!

Nuh. The Steel Axe, which should have gone through the pit point just like Nia did, has come out on top? This is not a difference in the performance of the magic vehicle, but rather a difference in the sturdiness of the driver, isn't it?

''But even so, it's a little bumpy, huh!

I feel like I'm running on a washboard too. When we finally got out of the super dirt track, I was pretty beaten up too, and it was hard not to reverse the Linse sandwich I had eaten earlier.

'I feel sick...'

There was no way I could drive properly in this condition. As I was driving slowly and sluggishly, the Felsen passed me from behind.

"Hahahahahaha! You're not trained well enough, my lord!

You're noisy. It's just delicate. It's just delicate. I mean, that's what usually happens!

"The eastern jungle course is almost over. The current leader is the Steel Axe issue! And then the Swan, the Triharan, the Strain, the Silver Star, the Felsen, the Brunhild and the Akaneko.

We should be driving on a flat course, but I felt like I was still shaking. I managed to keep up with the car while listening to the voice of Nyan Taro, who was doing a test run. When I glanced behind me, it seemed that Nia had finally broken through the demon's washboard load.

''It's........kind of cold.''

As the end of the jungle course approaches, it feels chilly. Is this from the next ice and snow course?

The first runner-up on the jungle course is the Steel Axe! And the White Swan is in second place. Both cars go straight into the ice and snow course! This area is a dangerous course with almost all of the trails covered in ice.

The ice and snow course is an icy course. You need to change the tires to be able to run properly here.
We went through the last gate of the jungle course. I passed in 7th place.
As we entered the ice and snow course, snow started to fall on the course. It may have been created by magic, but it's just as slippery. The cars ahead of us have already torn it up and turned it into a sherbet-like shape.
Just like when we entered the jungle course, we find a sign for a pit point. Of course I go in.
As soon as we get back to the area where the garage is, the cold disappears. No wonder.
In front of garages #5 and #6, I see them laughing and staring at each other again.

'Uh-huh.'
"Hahahahahahahahaha.

Both the princess and the crown prince are glaring at each other, but both are pale. It looks like the after-effects of the demon's washboard load are still lingering.
I also put the Brunhild in the garage and let the little bots change the tires, and then I lay down on the spot. I need to sober up a little.

'Sorry, Polar. Bring me some ice.

Despite being on the trampoline so much, I asked my totally energetic partner (of course) to bring me some ice for my drink from the refrigerated box at the back of the garage.
If I could use [Refresh], I'd have a shot. Magic isn't allowed during the race.
I throw one of the slightly larger pieces of ice that Paula brought me into my mouth. After licking it for a while, the weirdness I felt earlier has calmed down a lot.
The motion sickness is the result of my parasympathetic nervous system overreacting. I once saw on TV that you can suppress the parasympathetic nervous system by stimulating the sympathetic nervous system by licking the ice as slowly as possible.
It seems to vary from person to person, but I definitely feel better.
By the way, this method is said to be effective against hangovers too. I heard that this method is also effective against hangover, or something called "water for sobering up". Well, I've never tried it because I'm a minor.
There are other ways to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, such as nibbling on a bottle of spicy food, but I'll pass on that.
The tire change is done and I put on my thermal jacket. That should keep me out of the cold for a bit.
I switch to Pinspike tires and return to the course on the Brunhild.
The six cars that were already in front of me race back to the ice and snow course on... wheels? I was stepping out.
Before I knew it, the course was completely covered in ice. Ice has a higher coefficient of friction and is still better, or so I'm told. I heard that it's most slippery when the melted ice forms a film of water.

"Tsk!

The tire slipped and the handlebars were rebuilt. d*mn that's melting. We'd better be careful.

"The Steel Axe at the top! I'm not afraid of the ice and snow. I'm connecting the front and back wheels in an infinite trajectory, and I'm pushing forward, cracking the ice!

It was a U-shaped turnaround curve, so even I could see the Steel Axe leading the way.
Hey, hey, infinite orbit, is that a tank........ No, it's more of a bulldozer?
I mean, is that even possible? I certainly didn't say no, though.
The dwarves are building dwergs for civil engineering work, so I'm sure they were taught by a doctor or so. One of these days, there really is going to be a Dverg with an infinite orbit tank on the bottom half and a human-shaped upper body........

'But the speed is slowing down due to the weight, Nya! The second-place finisher, the Swan, has caught up to me and I've passed her! The Swan, the Steel Axe, has passed the steel axe. But a wall of ice stands in front of it!'

Blocks of ice blocks piled up like bricks on the course and formed a wall, blocking the right half of the course. It was about a meter high. Beyond that, the left half of the course was blocked off again by ice blocks, which continued in opposite directions. They continued in opposite directions.
As we skirted the wall on the course, we were asked to make sharp turns to the right and left, which we did on the slippery ice. It was a rather challenging request on the slippery ice.

''d*mn........''

As Lapidus-san was trying to break through the wall area while slipping a bit, the steel axe issue began to rush forward in a wild rush, smashing through the wall of ice blocks to what a surprise.

''What the hell is this wall!

Everyone couldn't even shout at the way they broke through because of the steel axe ship with its armored car-like body and infinite trajectory.
In the blink of an eye, they returned to the top again and cleared the ice wall area. Dwarves, are they smart or stupid?
The method of breaking through is stupid, but the result is a block of blasted ice scattered all over the track and an obstacle for the cars behind. If you're thinking about it, it's quite...well, no.
Everyone moves forward, avoiding the scattered ice blocks.
Smaller ones can be climbed over or flipped off, but the larger ones can only be avoided. Although the Felsen ship used its big tires to pop all of them.

'Well, the next step after the ice wall area is the slope area Nya! It's especially slippery out here, so be careful! Be careful not to get caught in the car in front of you that slipped and fell down too!

A wide track with a gentle slope. You can't see a straight line because it's all downhill over there.
It's true that if you slip on this slope, you'll go back down at once. Should we go up at a brisk pace?
As I was pondering this as I watched the lead group already starting to climb, several snowballs about two meters in diameter suddenly appeared at the top of the hill and began to rumble down the slope.
 Uwaa.
