127 115. Future

After the announcement of the engagement between Alexia and the others and me, we were ushered into a conference room in the royal palace. Gathered here were the kings, the Beast King, and the Pope, along with me, Alexia, Ferris, and Caro. And then there's Dr. Eileen and Lady Eliza, who apparently represent Zeke and Elise. And then there's Eckler, who won't move over my head.

Everyone else seems to be in a separate room. Well, Mei and her friends were excited to see the palace for the first time, so they should be fine. And Helen and the others are there too.

Then, after confirming that everyone has finished sitting down, the king speaks up.

'First of all, thank you so much for the goblins. If it wasn't for Ray and the others, not only the baron, but the surrounding territories would have been messed up.

The king said and bowed his head. I was surprised at the suddenness of the situation. I can't have my head bowed so easily.

"Your Majesty, Raymond, please raise your head! We just happened to be in the barony by chance, so it's just a coincidence.

I said hurriedly and he lifted his head in one way or another.

'Right. If I say more, the questions and answers will only continue. Instead, let's talk about the future.

Are you talking about the future?

I asked the king back and he nodded.

He nodded. I've spoken with the Lanwalker Frontier Count about you, and I'm sure he'll be able to help you establish a separate Lanwalker family when you graduate from the academy.

'It's also.........'

I didn't expect this to come up. If I had to make a new one instead of taking over from Zeke, wouldn't I have to do a lot of things? I put my hand to drink the tea that was placed in front of me.

'After that, you'll have to make a country out of it, Lord.

Buuuuuuut!

"Yikes!

Cui!

I blew out my mouthful of tea at the words too. Alexia, who was sitting next to me, was surprised, and it fell on Ekla, who had moved to her lap. I'm sorry, Ekla. I get a towel out of the item ring and wipe Ekla off. The Beast King and the Pope are laughing too hard.

"Gee-ho, gee-ho. ...What is that supposed to mean?

I'm sorry, Lord, but it's for the sake of your sons.

The king looks even more apologetic than he did when he talked about the goblins.

As you know, my successor will be Albert. But there are some noblemen who are trying to carry Alex to the top. They're not on bad terms with each other, but they're not good either.
And then the Lord, who is engaged to be married to Alexia, appears. I'm sure the nobles wouldn't say anything if you were only betrothed to Alexia, but what do you think would happen if you were also betrothed to the princesses of our allies, the War Vests and Arcadia?

...could it be something that's trying to carry me up?

You can't say that he isn't there. You are the best in the world when it comes to prowess. The nobles know all about goblins.
And as for politics, wouldn't they be better off with you on the throne than with Albert or Alex on the throne? Some will think that this is a good idea. Because it will make the friendship between Warbestos and Arcadia all the more rock solid.

Is it because he's engaged to Ferris and Caro? Certainly, if you think about it that way, it's impossible to make it as a nobleman?

I've also got Miss Helen at my side who is more talented and politically savvy than Albert and is a pupil of the Dean of Sylphid Academy. I was surprised to hear about the boy in his lap.

Cui?

Ekla looks at the king and tilts her head in the king's direction, as if she could see that he was talking about her. I pat Ekla's head like that. Certainly if I hear that much, the nobles will lift it up regardless of my intentions. And if the people are involved, it might lead to a civil war. But..........

Father, you're going too fast. You're talking too fast. You're still at school, so there's no point in talking to Ray about such things. I know you are worried about your brothers, but you don't want to get out of the car either, do you? I don't think it's too late to talk about it after we graduate.

'Well yes. I was definitely in too much of a hurry. I'm sorry Ray. Just put that one to the back of your mind.

...no no no no! You can't! I'm sure you'd think I was conscious if you said that!

Oh, and what will happen to the Lanwalker frontier family if that happens?

This is still the successor to the Lanwalker frontier aunt family, in a manner of speaking. I've been given quite a bit of freedom and I almost forget about it. When I say this, the king looks at Dr. Eileen and Lady Eliza.

'Zeke is going to take over Wont,'

'Huh? Not your brother Marco, but your brother Wondt?

If I had anything to do with it, my eldest son Marco would be next in line to take over, so why would my brother Won't? When I ask that question, Mrs. Eliza replies.

'It's because Marco declined,'

What?

'I have no right or talent to inherit the estate. So I will give the governorship to Wont. I shall be a shield to protect my people with this muscle!' I say. Huh, it's nice to see my personality healed, but I'm starting to have problems on a different side.

Mrs. Eliza holds her head while saying such things, but her face looks heartily happy. Well, it's a good thing that Marco, who was so selfish, came to say such things. But still, you're too much of a muscle lover. It's like they are secretly forming some kind of muscle club in the school.

Zeke didn't like to say it either, but he admitted that Wondt is probably more talented than Marco. He said I don't have to worry about the frontier county, and that I don't have to worry about the frontier county. Zeke's telling me to do what I want to do.

Dr. Eileen looks at me and says, "Just like I want to do. Just the way I want to do it. I can't stop thinking about the war and the demon tribe, but I might be able to think about it when things settle down. It seems like they're going to wait for you to graduate.

"If you're going to get your own way, we're going to help you do it too.

Oops, only the Beast King's Palace is not fair for running off. And Arcadia, of course.

I've put you in an uncomfortable position. And I, too, of course. My son in law.

Each of them looks at me and smiles.

'Of course we'll help you,'

And Alexia and the others smile at me. It's reassuring to have them all around.

'Cukkul!'

I'm here too! And then Ekla busts her wings like that. Of course I haven't forgotten.

Even though the kings will help you, building a country is not as easy as words can express. But this is our chance. We'll need everyone's help, but let's go for it.
