1 Black is like a slave

 My name is Jade.
 I don't have a last name. I'm just Jade.

My parents weren't highborn, and they weren't great merchants. I guess.
 Why do I think?
That's because I don't know much about my parents.

When I was about five years old, my parents took me out to the forest. But in the forest, they were eaten to death by a monster.
I did what they told me to do and survived for ten years in the forest.

 How did I survive?
 I killed and ate demons.
Of course, in the beginning, it was small animals that I could kill myself, or goblins that operated on their own.

 Taste?
It wasn't good. On the contrary, it made me sick to my stomach in the beginning. I was spewing filth from above and below.
 I got used to it.
As I got to know the terrain of the forest, I learned where the fruit was located, and I found something sweet to eat.
And that fruit was poisoned too, if you ask me.

So, I've been out of the forest for about fifteen years now. I finally made it back to the village.
I remember being scared to death.
I remember being so scared of what demons and animals would do to me if they saw my outfit, which was full of skins and splinters, and children crying and screaming.
Kids were screaming, people who got hit by the smell were throwing up, and eventually they called the knights and got me.

Why didn't I plead my case?
It's been so long since I've been in the same family, I've forgotten the words. Because the last time I spoke was five years old.
I was struggling to survive and never opened my mouth for a conversation, let alone write.

Yeah, I heard about this after the fact.
I wondered that myself. Why didn't help come to me in the woods? Why no one ever met anyone in the woods.

The forest I was in seemed to be a designated S-ranked place called "The Abominable Forest Floor".
I wondered to myself how I was able to live in such a place.
At the same time, I wondered why they were taking me to such a place to be eaten to death by demons, my parents.
There's no way to confirm that, since it's past time to do so.

 Well, here's the thing.
I was arrested, and as a prisoner, I was meekly thrown into the facility as the knights told me to do, and given only food and moderate exercise - that was not allowed.

I'm not sure why I was made to participate in skirmishes with neighboring countries instead of the knights, or was made to participate in the defeat of dragons.
Well, that's not much compared to my experience in the forest as an example.
The problem was that we were forced to do that every day, sometimes for a week without getting a wink of sleep.

Wow, that's a lot of work.

 Hmm?
Why do you think it's in the present?
 I don't know.
That's because I'm a member of the Order now.

"Jade! What the hell are you doing here, man?

 A shout falls on me.
It came from Rande Isla, the commander of the First Order to which I belong.

He has all-back blond hair, blue eyes, and a tough body.
He has a history of defeating a hundred dragons at once, and when a powerful empire attacked, he single-handedly fought back bravely. It's what we call a fierce man.

You're not going to get carried away just because you're allowed to be by my side, are you? The mission from now on is to serve my country! Get fired up!

Rande's words are always the usual ones.
The second word is for the country.

 Haha .......
No matter how many loyalties you have, you won't force us to do it.
Because already - we've already been working for three days without sleep.

The members of the knight's group walking around me also have circles in their eyes and walk like dying zombies.
If anything, the faces I remember seeing in yesterday's mission, dozens of them, have disappeared.
Were they taken by the medical team? Or were they taken by the Grim Reaper? It would be a long time before we would know that. There's a lot we don't know in the first place.

Oh, and by the way, we're the only ones who work tirelessly.
Or rather, I'm the only one who has made it to completion safely.

The leader of the group, Rande, just joined up with us a while ago. It is rare to see him working because he is only seen once a month.
I can imagine that it's just about.
He must have been eating and sleeping well, and came to work feeling good about himself.

That's why they're able to cut us off as if we're somebody else's problem.

'Father, they're tired from day after day, so when we march, we'll be able to go to .......

And a voice is offered to help.
It's Sheila Isla, the deputy commander of the First Order.
She's a beautiful girl with waist-length blonde hair and lush eyes, a beautiful girl whose earthly white skin is visibly recognizable despite being baked by the sun.
She joined the Order a few months ago and quickly rose to the rank of Deputy Commander in no time at all.
It is said that she has outstanding abilities and boasts of a speed that is even described as 'flash'.

I've never seen their power, by the way.
I'm sure you'll be able to find out more about this.

I'm not going to be able to say that. What do you mean by that? That's all you need to know!
'That's ....... Or at least us.
Don't worry about it! We're here when these guys aren't. Know when they're moving! Of course I can say that. I'll know when it's time to move. And when it's time to move, I will.

 Rande says confidently.
 Huh. ......
When will I be able to sleep next?
