2001 Episode 2001

Ray was flying in the air on his set, battling in the spring sun.
such a warm atmosphere that makes me wonder what the cold was a little while ago
 Meanwhile, Ray flies with Sett.
...on the way to villages and towns away from Gilm.
It's not the sort of place Ray would normally go.
But it was a necessary action to take the woodcutters with us.
Of course, I don't force the woodcutters to take them.
Before Ray could go, the Dusker messengers had already gone to their villages and towns and were looking for people who could go to Gilm among the skilled cutters, so they would carry them.
Usually, it's just a carriage, but things are different in this case.
Traveling by carriage takes more time than traveling by set.
What's more, Dusker has contacted not one village or town, but several.
That's why Ray, who can use Seto's mobility and bring everyone in at once, was selected for this case.
When each of them moves normally in a carriage, it definitely takes a lot of time.
Considering the travel time to Gillum, it may not be such a big travel time, but it is also true that even for a short time, the upper levels of Gillum, including Dusker, thought it was a waste now.

"Glu?"

Ray was flying while enjoying the soft sunlight, but suddenly Seto screams.
At the sound of the voice Ray looked down... and decided that it was the village of his choice.
Ray must have been lucky not to get lost, partly because it was a highway move.
Now, if we had to head to a village that wasn't along the road, we might have been at our worst lost.
That said, most of the time we find thieves and other things, and as a result we defeat them and make peace, even if only a little.

"Oh, it's over there. Get down. ... not directly into the village, but some distance from the main gate."

Nowadays, Gillum's guards and others who come to Gillum are not surprised because they know of Seto's existence.
It's only a few, and not all, but as long as Seto is a glyphon, it can't be helped.
Therefore, it was easy for Ray to predict that he would almost certainly panic if he went down inside the village or right next to the main gate in a village where he didn't know anything about Seto.

"Glu".

Seto, though slightly disappointed, follows Ray's words calmly.
I've been to many other places besides Gilm, probably because I know that many of them have been frightened at first.
Seth then descends towards the village, flapping her wings.
Naturally, the villagers who were watching the entrance of the village to see if any suspicious person would enter the village are surprised at the sight of Seto descending.
Watching it, Ray steps down from the back of Seto, who has landed on the ground, and heads with him to the village.

"Yes,"

The villagers, surprised at the sight of Seto, held their spears firmly in their hands and turned their heads toward Ray.
It was a cry of surprise that came out of Ray's mouth when he saw it.
The villagers, too, would never have thought that they could beat the Gryphon on their own means.
A set over three meters in length is not something a high‐ranking adventurer can handle.
Nevertheless, the act of defending the village without running away was enough for Ray to do him a favor.
However, as a matter of course, the hands of the villagers holding the spear trembled, and the tip of the ear trembled as well.
Ray opens his mouth to reassure such villagers.

"Don't worry, I'm not your enemy. It's Ray who came to pick up a woodcutter from Gilm. You must be understood."
"What? Huh? Huh? Huh...?"

The villagers exclaim in a bewildered voice, wondering if they had ever expected such words to come out of Ray's mouth.
I was absolutely convinced that I was the enemy who came to attack my village.
However, this is not the fault of the villagers.
If a villager living in such a rural area suddenly encounters Seto, his behavior would be natural.
Well, it's a big deal to say that he didn't scream and run away, or that he didn't give in to fear and attack Ray.

"Calm down. Again, I'm from Gilm. We're doing extensions in Gilm right now, but there aren't enough skilled woodcutters. You're listening to that, aren't?"

The villagers sit on the ground relievedly and speak, perhaps because of Ray's words.

"Oh, oh. I'm listening, but... you, really?"

The age of the villagers is about twenty.
Men of this age would normally be a great help in the field work, but I guess there are good reasons to keep the gate.

(It must be like keeping animals and monsters out of the forest out of the village...)

Look at the forest not far from the village, and you'll be convinced.
Since there were skilled woodcutters in the village, forestry was naturally flourishing in this village.

(Oh? Is forestry okay in the forest?)

Suddenly I have such a question, but for the time being I don't care about it and ask the villagers.

"And what about the woodcutters who come from this village to Gilmoo to work? I'm sorry, but I don't spend much time in one village because I have to stop by several villages and towns."
"Wait a minute. ... Huh? Oh, let's see..."

The villagers tried to get up from their buttocks on the ground, but their movements stopped halfway.
I tried to get up, but after a few tens of seconds I couldn't do it...

"I lost my waist."

mutter so in a heartless voice
The ordinary villagers, who had not escaped from the scene of disaster, watched Seto without any preparation.
With that in mind, it's only natural that you've lost your nerve.

"Oh, yes. Then what do you do? If I can go into the village on my own terms, I'll get someone."
"... I'm sorry, please,"

 an apologetic villagers
It goes without saying that it's clear what one's current situation is like.
Moreover, it was very embarrassing for the villagers who were proud to protect the village to see it and to have Ray call for help.
That being said, I have no choice but to rely on Ray in the circumstances.

"What do you do, Seto? You can't relax when you're close to me.

The villagers think a little about Ray's words before they speak.

"No, but don't let me into the village. I'm sure many people will be surprised."
"Guru..."

Seto chants regretfully at the villagers' words.
 That's probably why.
The villagers, who were watching such a situation up close, thought for a moment that they might not be scared.
However, Seto's appearance was very powerful, and the size of it was a problem in this case.
Having seen such a set up close at hand, it is unacceptable for the villagers to let it into the village.
That's what I think the monster in front of me is actually not that bad."All right. Then, Seto will be scared if he's playing around a little bit. Lie down. OK?"
"Grull!"

Seth exclaims joyfully at Ray's words, to the point where she wants to say what she was disappointed a few seconds ago.
After patting such a set, he goes into the village... Ray stops.

"Now that you mention it, what's your name? I need it when I explain the situation."
"Killares,"

The villagers... hear Killares' name, and Ray goes through the village again.
Naturally, Ray stands out in the village.
Originally, this village is quite large, but it is rare for people other than the villagers to come.
That's why Ray sits on a stone in front of his house and talks to an old man enjoying the spring sun.

"Do you have a moment?"
"What? ... What about you? You don't look like you in this village."
"Oh, I'm from Gilm, to bring some woodcutters to work, but..."

Say so and explain the situation.
When the old man hears it, he nods convincingly.

"Well, my lord... Well, I've heard of it. I told you that there will be a man from Gilm in the near future, too. It was a long time before I knew it."
"We can travel on a set. So why don't we just have to carry the shabby killer somewhere, or put in a replacement? And it would be helpful if the woodcutters could prepare it, because we need to stop by not only this village, but also some other villages and towns."
"Well, then, I'll let you know soon. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ."

The murmuring old man rose to his feet with a cane in his hand.
Ray hears what the old man says and somehow realizes his true identity.
The old man then looks at Ray again and opens his mouth.

"You have come to this Guillier once again. I'll welcome him. If possible, I should like to have a welcome party, but can't you afford it?"
"Well, as I said before, we need to go around other villages and towns and get people to work in Gilmoo just like here."
"Well, then, wait at the entrance of the village, with a woodcutter who says we can go to Gillum at once... and I'll take the place of Gillares."

The old man...probably the mayor of this village, walks away in front of Ray, looking rather well for his cane.
After seeing it off, Ray returns to the village entrance with interesting glances from the people around him. ... Surprised.
This is because there were many children around Seto.
But the more soon he looks satisfied.
An adult who recognizes monsters as enemies...or a child of a certain age, if you look at Seto, you may judge him to be a powerful enemy.
But I'm sure Seto wasn't afraid of the children who hadn't been taught that yet... or who haven't been able to feel it properly.
Seto has a friendly personality, so he doesn't scare children who play with him, and he's more than happy to play with him.
As a result, a scene that now seems to be spreading before Ray's eyes.
Ray could see that those who seemed to be parents of the children were unsure what to do with their behavior.
The monster is now playing with the child, although it would normally have to protect the child from the monster.
There was an atmosphere that I couldn't tell the monster to leave.
What's more, seeing Sett play with the kids, it's not as if he's a monster or something that comes to mind.
On the contrary, some people find it cute when they see Set playing.
When confronted with the enemy, he showed a sharp, glaring gaze, but... when he was playing with them, or when he was eating something delicious, he even felt lovely.
Once you feel lovely about the size of your body, you don't have to worry about it that much.

"Hey, hey, Ray. Is this a good situation? Is it really safe!"

When Ray comes back near the gate, Killares says flusteredly.
For himself, it is not interesting to see other villagers looking down, but now the safety of the children is more important than that.
...that's probably why Ray likes his children's safety more than his own shame.

"Don't worry. Seto will fight back if he's a victim, but he won't do anything if he's a normal opponent."

That's what Ray says, but Killares, who doesn't know much about Ray and only knows about him by word of mouth, can't believe his words honestly.
I couldn't believe it the most, but I could only believe it when I saw what was spreading before me.
The conversation continued until the woodcutter came.
