5-Episode 5 Back to Slavery and Adventurers Guild He...

Headquarters of the Adventurers' Guild, Chloriana.
This is the headquarters of the Adventurer's Guild, which is backed by the Church, and is a place where anyone above the rank of noble must come at least once to be certified in order to register as an adventurer.

The guild chapters in each region receive special certification in order to guarantee their status, and of course, Celestia is no exception. Since I'm not needed while Celestia undergoes the certification, I'll just have to wait outside.

Powerful adventurers from all over the world gather at the headquarters and disperse to various locations to take on high-level requests. The reason why I came all the way to the headquarters of Chloriana was to gain the favor of the nobles who came here.

Even now, there are adventurers in front of me, offering their achievements, desired positions, and amounts of money to sell themselves. However, the higher nobles do not approach these people. At most, it would be limited to the lower nobility. The adventurer in front of me is, at best, a bouncer for a merchant guild. The trouble is, this sort of thing is not well known to adventurers of middle rank and below.

"What a waste of time!

"What's a waste?

As soon as Celestia returned from the authentication, she began to take an interest in the adventurer I was watching.

Even with all that pomp and pageantry, the nobility won't be interested in you.

"Is that so? So, if I do, it means that Walth is wrong," said Celestia happily.

I held her shoulders and said, "Don't do that, it's useless. If you've been certified, the guild will introduce you to other adventurers who are capable, or if they want to come to you directly, they'll contact you through the guild," I explained.

Walth really knows a lot of weird stuff.

...... I'm just doing research for the Kingdom of Euresia and for Celestia.

Hmmm. ...... It's like a different kind of creature than the slave I imagined.

Well, then I suppose it's not so bad of Celestia to ask me to speak as an equal.

I've never known a princess to be so normal with her slaves.
There are some rulers who show mercy even to slaves, but they never cross the line, and there is a clear difference in status. Celestia, however, seems to have eliminated that difference from the start.

"So, when you were getting certified, they asked you what your goals were. What did you say?

The Adventurer's Guild has a system of unconditional backup for royalty.
The Adventurer's Guild is run by the church and is funded by donations. People can use the Adventurer's Guild for a low fee, and adventurers are paid the fee plus a donation. The adventurers are thanked by the people, and if they are successful, they are introduced to the nobility and royalty through the guild.
The core of these donations is the nobility and royalty.
Therefore, the Adventurer's Guild, at the behest of the Church, provides guidelines to help royalty achieve their ultimate goals, and sometimes arranges requests for them to do so.

I don't know how you know all that stuff when only nobles and above know it.

Just think of me as a hard worker. So, what's your goal?

Celestia chuckled and replied, "My goal is to defeat one of the four great dragons, the rage dragon Era.

What? What did you just say?

I said, we're going to defeat the rage dragon Yra.

Do you even know what that is?

Yes. The guild staff said it would be better if I didn't.

 Of course.
In the past, I was the one who killed the ravenous dragon Hell Artyo, one of the four great dragons, and I know its viciousness better than anyone. It's a monster that usually takes a whole country to fight. Only a quitter would make it a clear target. And I'm the only one who would be stupid enough to say that in the Crown system.

The staff is right. Of course it's impossible," I said dismissively.

"It's a goal, so the bigger the better.

That's not the point. The guild has to back up Celestia. The guild has to back her up.

Celestia let out a short breath and said, "You have to hear me out. That's why I changed it," she said, disgusted, "I made it the easiest solution of all the A-grade requests.

It sounds like you're asking me to make a ...... discovery when A-grade isn't easy, but it's the easiest of them all.
I don't mean that. I don't mean that. You clearly said no.

Thank God the guild staff had some sense.
The reputation of the Kingdom of Euresia would be ruined if we were to accept a request with obvious rank manipulation. Well, it may not have been that bad to begin with.

That's why I wanted to ask you to come, Walth.

Why me?

Because I don't really know what you're capable of, although your father has told me. And since Walth is a learned man, I'm sure he'll know a lot about the request.

 Seretia sounded somewhat provocative.

All right. I'll go to the staff then.

The Adventurer's Guild headquarters is large, and there are many private rooms in the back.
However, only one of them is reserved for royalty, and I've used it several times. I almost walked to the front of the line to get there.

When Seretia entered the room, a staff member was sitting in a chair, still working.
She had picked up some requests and was spreading them out on the table.

I bowed, exchanged greetings, and decided to listen to what she had to say on her behalf.
I sat down on the couch next to Celestia and looked over the requests.
The staff had chosen a relatively easy one from the B rank, and seemed to be paying close attention to what Celestia had said.

I'm not sure what to make of that. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out how to get the most out of it.

It's a good idea to have a good idea of what you're looking for. The safest place to start is with your own country, but there's nothing you can do about that.

As I held up some of the requests, I said, "Many of them are from the Kingdom of Karrits.

Eighty percent are from the Kingdom of Carlitz, and the remaining twenty percent are from several countries, all of which are farther away than the Kingdom of Carlitz.
It would be extremely unnatural to leave the Kingdom of Karrits out of this pile of requests.

The staff replied, "The Kingdom of Karrits is a large country, so it inevitably receives many requests.

However, the Kingdom of Karrits is also the destination of many adventurers, so it is doubtful that the number of requests would increase so drastically. When I was in the service, the percentage was at most 40 percent. It might be a good idea to accept the request to investigate the Kingdom of Carlitz as well.

I'd like to start with this request and see how it goes," I said, handing a request form to a staff member.
