2-Prologue 2

The next day, a little before noon.
I was in front of a high-rise apartment building that I could hardly look up at.

I greeted the guard, who was more or less an acquaintance of mine, and told the manager what I wanted and asked him to contact Rin.
My overprotective parents took me to the apartment building where Rin lived, a hundred or so meters from the ground.
The apartment is on the 40th floor, and the entire floor has been bought out for Rin.
It is said to be for safety reasons, but when I hear that most of the rooms are unused, I feel like saying that I don't understand what rich people think.

That being the case, I somehow managed to get to the 40th floor by using the elevator, even though the atmosphere was quite out of place.
When I pressed the stylish intercom, I heard the door open instead of an answer.

'Welcome, I've been waiting for you.

'Yes, I'm here.

She welcomed me with open arms, and I went straight to her house.
It's been a long time since I've been here. I think the last time I came here was before Rin-chan graduated from high school, so it's been about three years.

'Ah ......, it's been a long time since I've had time to replenish my nana ingredients ......'.

'Whoops.

As I was moving toward the living room, Rin hugged me so tightly that I could hear her squealing.
She has a very glamorous and selfish body, and at 170cm tall, she is one of the tallest women in the world.
As I'm only 155cm tall, I find myself in a position where I'm wrapped around her soft breasts when she hugs me.
As I felt the softness of her breasts behind me, which I could not experience with my own poor breasts, I was left to my own devices.

'Rin, I can't move.

'Just a little bit more: ......Just a little bit more: ......'

I was haunted for about five minutes.

'It's been a year since we've seen each other, after all. I haven't had a chance to spend any time together since I graduated from high school.

'I've been working a lot for the past year.

'You ask me out and I work, you ask me out and I work. You have to think about how I feel when I'm rejected.

'Hahahaha ......'

As I ate the meal that my best friend had apparently prepared for my arrival, I smiled bitterly to cover up the bitterness that my best friend was showing me.

To tell the truth, I can hardly say that I was working part-time to make a living.
It was true that I had to work to survive.
However, at most, working five full-time night shifts a week would be enough to cover the costs of living alone.
In particular, I had very little greed, so I had a good amount of money saved up.

The only reason why I was still working was because I had no hobbies.
I have no materialistic desires because I have no hobbies, and I have no materialistic desires because I have no hobbies.
Whenever I have even a single day of free time, I live aimlessly without doing anything.
Because I felt such a thing was a waste of time, I would kill my free time by working part-time incessantly.

'Oh well. It's been a while since we've seen each other.

I breathed a sigh of relief as Rin's frown softly lifted and she smiled at me.

'I'll have to find a job again, though...'

I blurted this out over a cup of tea after dinner.
Well. I'm now a NEET and I have to find a job again.

'No problem about that.

'What? Why not?

'I was going to tell you on the phone yesterday.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at Rin-chan's confident dismissal of my gloomy feelings about finding a job.
Come to think of it, Rin-chan must have called me yesterday because she needed me.
I remembered that I had let it go after hearing about my situation.

'Nana, do you remember the job I'm working on?

'Um, I think it's, um, a video game tournament or something like that.'

'E-sports. Well, not only that, but I'm a professional gamer. I'm also a member of a company.

'The Takashou group?

'Sort of.'

I couldn't help but laugh as Lin nodded as if it was a matter of course.
The Takashou Group even has a professional baseball team.
It wouldn't be strange if they had a gamer version of that, but as usual, they are involved in a wide range of businesses.

Rin-chan is a professional gamer, and as I recall, she also streams games.
She is a very famous player in her field, and even without her connections, she is a very talented person.
Rin and I have known each other for a long time, but ever since she was a child, she has been a genuine gamer and has always been the best gamer in our class.
I remember playing games with her and watching her from behind.

'Nana, do you know about 《WorldLive-ONLINE》?

'WorldLive-...... Oh, I think the young kids at my part-time job were talking about it. You know, the virtual game.'

'Yeah. It's an online game that was launched just ten days ago. It's the game that's been the talk of the VR community in Japan.

 'WorldLive-ONLINE'.
It's an amazing online game that cost a lot of money to make.
One of the younger boys at my part-time job who was very fond of me liked the game, and he talked about it a lot, but that was about all I could understand.

'Well, if I tell Nana the great thing about this game, she won't understand, so I'll make it short and simple. WorldLive-ONLINE is a VR game that allows you to live stream while fully diving.

'I don't understand, is this something that's never been done before in a game?

'Yes, it is. The game itself is also much better, but that's something you can't tell Nana if you don't know about previous VR games.

Full-dive. It's a feature essential to VR games that lets you dive into a virtual space with only your consciousness.
It has been many years since it was put to practical use, but I had the opportunity to experience it through Rin's connections in the early days.

At that time, I could only move awkwardly, but I know that I can move freely now.

It seems that such a full-dive game could not be live-streamed.
VR is not the only game in the world.
I can imagine that VR games are not the best way to make money in this age when you can make a living mainly by live streaming games.
And that 《WorldLive-ONLINE》 is a work that could change that.

I guess you get the idea. Yes, I've been playing this game for ten days now. As a professional gamer, I can't afford to miss the wave.

'I see. So, why did you tell me about this?

'You don't get it, do you? Well, you can't get the message if you say too much, so I'll make it clear. Let's play a game together, ...... Nana.''

The words seemed light, but they were serious.
She looked up a little and gave me a moist look.
We've known each other for a long time, but whenever Rin asks me for something like this, my heart is always on the verge of collapse from anxiety.
It's not a request. It's not an invitation. If I had to say, I'd say 'please'.
And I was very vulnerable to Rin's request.

'Hmm, okay. Let's play a game together.

'Are you sure?

'Why are you lying to me?

'That's true too. Good, I was worried you'd say no.'

'Well, if I had a part-time job, I might have turned it down, but I don't have one now.

This is probably what Rin-chan meant when she said yesterday that it was convenient.
It's true that if the company I work for hadn't gone out of business, there's a possibility that I would have turned it down.
 However, I don't think Rin-chan can't imagine such a thing.
There are probably many things that she has not explained to me in order to get to the heart of the matter.
When I stared at Rin-chan's relieved face, she tightened her expression.

'I'm a professional gamer and a game distributor. I'm not always live streaming, but if you're playing games with me, I'm sure Nana will have a lot of opportunities to be seen on the streams.

'Well, I guess so.

'Well, I suppose so, if you're playing with a streamer in a game that can be live-streamed, you'll have more opportunities to do so.
I myself don't mind it at all, but I can't help but wonder what it would be like for the viewers.

'So, I've been thinking a lot about ...... Nana, would you like to become a professional gamer?

'...... yes?'

When I was thinking about this, Rin's suggestion was completely unexpected.
