Chapter 18: Why the Roleplaying Class Became...
GG3
I've played quite a few games where I've been chased by monsters, but hey, most of those things happen in horror games, and with some skill and discipline, even if the opponent is a very scary opponent, it's no problem.
At least it was for me.
But then, dodging in an RPG... it's a first, and in a situation where you have absolutely no idea what direction the enemy will come from!
Although I didn't dare to look back, the cracking sound of the approaching wall behind me was very real, and I felt like if I stopped I would definitely be eaten by that thing!
If it were a normal RPG, getting attacked by monsters would be absolutely fine, but this RPG is completely different! I've learned before when I fought the wild wolves that if I'm attacked in this world battle... I can get hurt too! The wolf's claws had cut it wide open before!
Even though the wounds would heal quickly if you drank the medicine right away, but to think that a direct bite from such a monster would turn your body into two pieces! He's going to die! It's useless even if you're high up!
"Dale, can't you put a little magic on it to slow this guy down? You'll get caught up if you do that!"
"Even if you say so I can't help it! There's no way to aim this guy through the walls! Magic is aiming to hit!"
"Couldn't you have predicted it!"
"Prejudice? What's that?"
........
I shook my head in frustration, mentally counting the rhythm of the soft earthworms weaving through the back wall.
1...2...3....
Three seconds at a time? Great!
Just as I counted to 2 again, without turning my head, I reached backwards.
Ice Castle!
A circle of walls surrounded by ice bricks blocked the passage directly behind us, while at the same time, soft earth worms came out of one side of the wall directly, crashing right into the ice wall.
"Now is the time!"
I pulled Dale hard, and he too turned to see the scene behind him.
It was only a moment's pause before a giant ball of lightning appeared in his hand, then, like a softball throw, he threw it!
Once again, the bright light shone so brightly that I couldn't open my eyes, and when I opened them again, I couldn't see anything else inside the passage behind me other than the prompt board for gaining experience.
It's really a friendly system, but this way, I was told the news that the other party had died very directly.
Well, there's nothing I can do about it... Do I have to play like I did in X-space and just mend every corpse I see to make sure the other party is dead? What's scary about swindling bodies, right?
With a long sigh of relief, our crisis was averted for now.
"How exactly did you destroy them all by yourself before?"
"Of course you run and fight, then you run afterwards."
"You think this is guerrilla warfare?"
"No, I think it's tunnel warfare."
I didn't know where to spit at Dale's serious eyes, so I just silently scowled at him.
"Don't hide your admiration with your eyes, I can't stand it."
Dale said calmly.
"I'd like to borrow your hood for a moment."
"Why?"
"I want to puke."
This back to Dale starting to roll his eyes.
"Why do you need my hood, it's so wide in here, are you worried someone will come and fine you?"
"No, because I'm hygienic."
"Okay, no more bullshit. We're still trying to find the right route, and if it's the wrong one, that means we'll have to find the passage to the next level all over again. Really, why did the road change."
"Are you sure you're not a roadkill?"
"It's not like there's a fork in the road here, what's it got to do with roadkill?"
"Well, I guess the maze is automatically more difficult because of the grouping, right? That's why this is happening...but..."
I looked behind me at the road.
"Maybe that's not it either."
"What's wrong?"
"You didn't feel it?"
I closed my eyes and pointed in the direction behind us.
Dale was silent for a moment and asked.
"Feel what? An air of weakness?"
"Wind! There's a wind blowing over there!"
I shouted in exasperation, then pointed in the direction the wind was blowing.
"A wind means an exit, At the very least, there must be some place connected to the exit on this side, so let's go!"
After that, I walked straight that way.
Dale touched his nose and spread his hands, saying.
"Okay...what the hell did you get that nerve-racking title for? Obviously, you're as careful as a feather...you weren't a small animal in your last life, were you?"
