266-Request for F rank

It's been a few weeks since we registered with the Adventurer's Guild.

We had been steadily earning guild points by completing F-rank requests on days when there were no classes at the magic academy.

Once you have accumulated a certain number of guild points, you can take a promotion exam, and if you pass it, you can move up a rank.

The promotion exam could be a mock battle with an examiner or defeating a designated demon.

By the way, the only thing we did in the F-rank request was to collect medicinal plants. It's the easiest request that even a novice adventurer can accept.

If you defeat strong monsters and prove you've defeated them, you'll earn guild points right away.

But even requests for herb harvesting and the like are ordered because someone needs them. That's why I've decided to take as many requests as possible while I'm at F-rank that other adventurers will avoid.

Herb harvesting is a request that is so necessary that requests are sent out all year round, but the rewards are so low that only really fledgling adventurers get the requests.

When the guild's stock of medicinal herbs is about to run out, the reward is sometimes increased. At that time, beginner to intermediate adventurers may receive requests to collect medicinal herbs.

Adventurers are also fulfilling requests from the guild in order to survive. So it makes sense that few of them are willing to do requests for herb harvesting where the rewards are too low.

I'm not a money man, thanks to Tina.

The reward for gathering medicinal herbs is cheap, but I can earn a little more guild points than other requests.

 And besides...

Mr. Hurt, are you delivering medicinal herbs again today?

Okay. I picked three bags.

I place the three large bags I brought on my back on the guild's material purchase counter.

The contents are all medicinal herbs.

''Say, three bags? You are very helpful. Thank you so much for everything.

It's not bad to be thanked by the lady at the reception desk like this.

"So, I'm sorry as always........but.....

'It's about compensation, isn't it? Fine, as usual.

''I'm sorry. I could only give this much to Hurt-san, who is organizing five parties...

The lady at the reception desk gave me a sachet with a spinner in it.

Adventurers usually form a party of four and take requests.

That's why we have a party, too.

 Me, Luna, Kikyou, and Shiro.

 Tina, Meldy, Mai and May.

 Citry, Rifa, Luca and Sylph.

 Yoko, Chalk, Seira, and Hermia.

 Luke, Rielle, Ryushin and Hinata.

This is what it looks like.

The name on the far left is supposed to be the leader of each party.

I've made them equal in strength.
And then there's also chemistry, couples, and so on.
We've taken a lot of things into consideration.

In the meantime, I think we'll be able to handle any party that encounters a demon or a genie. Of course, I've given everyone a bracelet with my alter ego and a flame knight in it.

When I gave the bracelet to Ryushin, I was impressed that he was crying for some reason.

I told him that since we had a party together, we could each do whatever we wanted. Still, when I go somewhere, the rest of the party always follows me.

Well, I promised Tina that I'll always be with her, so I guess I can't blame her.

Yoko and Sitri's party also follows me unanimously, not because of the leader's will or anything else.

Luke's party would occasionally split up, but most of the time they'd be working with us.

As for me, I like hanging out with everyone and looking for herbs and stuff, and I feel like I'm kind of under the radar, so this is fine....

''I'm sorry. Again, this was the only reward I got.

Show the sachet of rewards you received to everyone who was waiting for you when you left the guild.

Every time we all entered the guild together to order requests and receive rewards, we would attract attention and have to rely on Kikiou's brainwashing magic.

That's why I was supposed to represent them in all of the request orders and receipt of rewards.

''Eh, that's all...''
Less!
'Hahaha. Seriously, Halt.

Tina was stunned when she saw the sachet of rewards, Luke raised his voice, and Ryushin was laughing hysterically.

''Medicinal herbs are cheap, you know.
We're not strapped for cash, so I don't mind getting paid less. More importantly...
I want to slay a demon, now!
Chalk is right.

As expected, after several weeks of searching for medicinal herbs in the grasslands by the King's Capital, some members have grown bored.

The fact that the rewards are too small isn't going to keep them motivated either.

That's why I've received a slightly different request this time.

"I heard that a village a bit far from the royal capital has been damaged by goblins.

Whoa, are we going to take down that?

 Ryushin was interested.

The goblins were E-ranked demons, and it wasn't a request that was originally sent to us who were F-ranked.

However, when the receptionist saw that all of us were well equipped, she decided that if we were going to challenge them with a party of five, it wouldn't be a problem, and she let us accept the request.

Especially Elmia and the others, they're dressed like warriors of the past. What she's wearing is the Hihiyrokane armor, and her weapon is the Holy Sword blessed by the Creation God.

Of course, she's an F-ranked adventurer like me on her guild card.

''It seems that there's still enough damage to attack livestock and destroy crops. But if left unchecked, I think the damage will increase in the future.

Goblins do not harm humans directly when they gather in groups of a few.

Once they join up with others or breed and grow to a group of more than ten, they begin to attack people who enter the mountain.

And from there, their numbers explode.

When they grow to more than a hundred, they will leap out of their burrows and invade nearby villages and towns.

In this world, there are many villages and towns that have been destroyed by goblins.

Each one of them is weak, but when they gather in numbers, they can never be careless - that is the demon of goblins.

Collecting medicinal herbs together was rather fun, but I want to start fighting soon.
Hmm. I'm getting tired of following the scent of herbs.
"Goblins. They don't look good in this armor, but well, anything that allows you to wield a sword.

Luke, White, and Elmia seemed to be ready to take on the goblins.

''We've delivered quite a few medicinal herbs in the past few weeks. Even though we're a guild in the royal capital, we won't run out of medicinal herbs for the time being.''
'You're right, Lady Tina. I've been wanting to do another commission soon, too.

Tina understands the importance of getting requests for medicinal herb harvesting; she's trying to cultivate medicinal herbs for a steady supply of medicinal herbs at the H&T Chamber of Commerce, but it just doesn't seem to work.

That's why they're asking adventurers to harvest medicinal herbs.

However, as Rifa says, it's no wonder they're indeed bored.

"After all this time, I'll call a gnome to grow medicinal herbs and... Muguu?

Something like Sylph was about to say something that would conclude that all of our actions of the past few weeks were in vain, so I kept my mouth shut for now.

 I see. Norm, dude.
You can grow medicinal herbs too........

From now on, if I hear a rumor of a shortage of herbs somewhere, I'll ask a gnome to help me.

Then we'll be on our way to defeat the goblins!
Mugghhhh, moo!

I held the sylph's mouth in my arms and stepped into the transition magic circle that led to the village near the village that was said to have been damaged by the goblins.
