177 . Visit 3

The second day of the visit is scheduled to include an inspection of facilities in the small frontier city of Liberty.

They are supposed to confirm the income facilities that we have submitted in advance and the security system.

Mr. Porunde, who had just arrived at the town hall, politely refused my suggestion to take a break when I greeted him.
We'll start with an inspection of the underground dungeon.
That's how it came to be.

The underground labyrinth (dungeon) is a facility that has existed since shortly after this frontier small city of Liberty was created.
It started when Jean Barea, a former magician from the wizarding world, happened to come to me to sell it, but I never imagined that it would become something this amazing.
The current underground labyrinth is a single five-story building that rises above the ground with a single entrance and administrative facility, with ten different underground labyrinths spread out below it.
The basic underground labyrinth has 10 floors underground, one for solo and one for party.

The Knights of Batcombe regularly come here to train for a few days in various elaborate underground labyrinths, and thanks to this, they contribute to a stable income.
It's not just a simple contest of skill, but also a secret of the popularity of the drop items, which are armor with dragon scales, and there were many adventurers who challenged the underground labyrinth for the drop items.

When I led Polunde and the others to the underground labyrinth, Jan Barea greeted us at the entrance of the building.
''Hey, hey, hey, my fellow inspectors, have you made any money?
Jambalea talks to Porunde and the others in his usual fashion.
By the way, the shirt he's wearing today has the words 'today's main character' written on it.
It seems that a shirt with such words is Giambalea's favorite, but.......I don't know if that's a good idea for welcoming a public inspection group.......
Then Giambalea found Mr. Cruller standing behind Mr. Porunde.
Oh, that's yesterday's sister. You had a nice drink last night, didn't you?
He was in a very good mood and laughed as he said this.
Apparently, it was Jambalea that Mr. Cruller had been drinking with him last night when he had a painful drink.
'See, this one has been going to work very well since this morning.
After seeing Jambalea's condition, Polunde-san started to pester Krueler-san again.

This Giambalea is a wizard from the wizarding world and so he's also very good at drinking.
Although he offered his help, the way Polunde-san looked at Cruller-san did not change much.
After that, Jambalea led Mr. Porunde and the others to the underground labyrinth.
Although it would be easiest to understand if he challenged them, it would be impossible for the so-called civilian Polunde-san and the others to challenge the underground labyrinth.
So I asked them to look at the central government room where Jambalea is always caged in.
There's the synthetic mages Jalvin and Serbin there, but since the two of them had been working in the dark for a period of time as pawns of the King's Capital Association, I asked them to leave their seats for this day just in case.
The organization of the capital is so complicated that if someone from Porunde knows and remembers Jalvin and his friends, it might cause problems later on... After all, these two were brought in by Lil' Pop, who took them in with the same forcefulness as kidnapping, and afterwards they were hired to work for Liberty, so I can't help but think about it.
This underground labyrinth was created by a resident of the wizarding world, Jambalea, who made full use of the power of the wizarding world, and as expected of Porunde and the others, it seemed to be beyond the scope of their understanding, and they simply nodded in agreement with Jambalea's explanation.

When the inspection of the underground labyrinth was over, he led Polunde-san and the others to the dragon scale mining site.
Since this place is a secret place within Liberty, we asked them to look inside from near the entrance, where we would hold a questioning session.
When we came to the entrance of the cave where the magic stone is being mined, Sarah, the person in charge of this place, came in from the back.
Because we had told her in advance that we would have an inspection visit today, Sarah, who usually smells like a maniac, explained to Porunde and the others with the minimum of words.
Polunde-san and the others rolled their eyes when they realized that the people working at the back of the cave were the bone humans that Sarah had summoned.

Mr. Porunde looked impressed as he said this.

The next stop was the hot spring village, which Porunde and his friends had visited last night when they stayed there.

The area to the south of the hot spring village, where the inn town used to be, is being cultivated by a young buffalo couple who are in charge of cultivating the land, and is expanding day by day.
In order to introduce this area, I asked Aura to take the form of a wyvern.
The group on the back of Aura's wyvern soars into the air and within a few minutes, we are in the air above the grain fields.
What a wonderful sight....
Polunde and the others looked impressed as they looked down at the grain fields from the back of the Aura and continued to marvel at the sight.
Because we had to travel by air, we were unable to listen to the young buffalo couple in charge of this place, but Erdena and I took questions from them.

After this, Porunde and the others, who had checked the reconstruction of the Gehemorse area from the back of the aura, went to check the magic stone mining site in the Gehemorse area.
''I heard that this place has dried up,''
We found a new vein of ore a little further down the line.
After listening to my explanation, Mr. Porunde looked at the magic stone mining site with admiration, saying how well you found it.

After this, we returned to the town hall, and next, Mr. Porunde inspected the central wholesale market just outside the town hall.
Black, the former captain of the Onijin Merchant Corps, is in charge here.
When we arrived, Kuro stopped working at the back of the market and came over to us.
He took questions from Mr. Porunde and the others, but there were not so many in-depth questions.

Finally, Polunde and the others checked the guard's office.
There was one captain, Gugs, who had stayed behind to prepare for the inspection.
All the others were in the process of going out on patrol.
'I didn't think it would be rude not to welcome you all to the inspection, but we can't skip the patrol at this time today, either.
 Googus said that.
No, it's more of a business as usual, which I like very much, personally.
Mr. Polunde smiled at me as he said that.
When Googs saw that smile, he gave a small gut pose.
He must have been very happy because he was goofing around with his materials yesterday.
Afterwards, Gugs responded to Polunde's questions.
The questions here were mainly about how to manage the guards that belonged to us, and how to confirm the commitments of the patrol.
Gugs is a bit of a thing with paperwork, but other guard-related work is always spot-on, so he answered those questions without hesitation.

Thus, the entire inspection was over.

The second day of the tour, which was originally expected to take a full day, was completed in about half a day, partly because we were allowed to use the wyvern-turned-Aura for transportation on the way.

We decided to have lunch with Mr. Porunde and his friends at the town hall cafeteria.

At the table, Mr. Porunde said
I don't think I've ever seen a city that has a system this well established in a small outlying city.
 That's what he told me.
I was very happy to hear his praise for the results of our life-prolonging efforts, which we've been working on through trial and error.

After lunch, Porunde and the others returned to the capital in the liner that was one flight earlier.
The results of this inspection will be reviewed by the Frontier Management Bureau in about two weeks and will be sent to the final decision meeting. Please wait for a while until that is completed.
After saying that, Polunde-san and the others returned to the royal capital.

''Oh dear.......somehow the inspection ended safely....
I stretched out wide as the magic ship disappeared from view.
Erdena and Biblina gently placed their hands on my shoulders.
''Thank you for your hard work, Safate.''
Now all you have to do is wait.
They smiled at me and I smiled back at them.
